This story is an erotic remake of Beauty and the Beast. Ceceila is the youngest daughter to a king that has been paying tithes to the king of Erkatha, who this time wants a wife instead of gold or silver. Upon meeting Mirrakar, Cecelia has find’s herself strangely attracted to this beast of a man. There is a lot of push and pull between these two as they find themselves being drawn to each other. There are times when Cecelia’s immaturity really shows in some of the reckless choices that she makes. They decide to wager that they would not be the first one to succumb to the other, thus starts a merry teasing chase. For the most part the book was pretty cute with many erotic moments, what was like a pail of cold water was after a rather pleasing sensual moment the author had Ceceila refer to herself in a derogatory manner. They both enjoyed this moment why is Mirrakar not referring to himself in a shameful manner, why is it only the woman that gets subjected to this when she expresses her enjoyment of their physical pleasure? For me it’s an automatic star drop when an author does that. Others may have no issue with it, me my trust is lost when an author does that. Why take away our sexual power and have us refer to ourselves in a coarse or shameful manner? We are not supposed to express our sexual enjoyment with our partner? This book was in pretty much every way perfect. It was just long enough for a one sitting read (although I would happily have read more about these awesome characters). Crystal’s language flows like poetry and I can so clearly see everything she describes, it’s lovely. The chemistry between Cecelia and Mirrakar absolutely jumps off the pages and sears your heart, so sexy! I love the idea behind this series too of these “monsters” getting their happy endings. This book was so enjoyable. Grabs my attention from the start. The path of love between Cecelia and the Minotaur isn't an easy one but none the less heartfelt. 5 stars.
