Shadow’s Legacy is interesting. Friends and family gather to the wedding of the Iron Queen Meghan Chase’s brother, however one wedding guest feels a different emotion than the rest. The King of the Forgotten can’t forget his lost love and when he slips away from the celebration, he is attacked and called a fraud by a strange faery. Now Keirran and his family must form a wary alliance to track the strange new threat, a creature of rage and hatred that threatens the new-found peace of Faery. Shado Shadow’s Legacy is interesting. Now Keirran and his family must form a wary alliance to track the strange new threat, a creature of rage and hatred that threatens the new-found peace of Faery. Shadow’s Legacy is filled with emotion, an ending and a new beginning. Keirran tries to adjust to being King of the Forgotten as he makes a home for them in the Between. He continues to feel guilty and regret over his betrayal when he sided with The Lady and the destruction he had caused to the Nevernever. As he prepares to join his human family and faery courts in the human realm for the wedding of Ethan Chase and Kenzie, Keirran can’t help but still feel the loss of his own beloved. While at the wedding, Kierran helps his friends when one of Puck’s wedding gifts gets out of hand only to discover someone has been watching him. Kierran finds himself facing against, Nyx, a forgotten looking for the Forgotten Queen and finds her to be a dangerous threat. Overall Shadow’s Legacy was okay. It was great to see an ending to Ethan and Kenzie’s story and to see what happened to Keirran after the Iron Warrior. A nice sneak peek to what the next Iron series will bring. I enjoyed it. Can’t wait. I have to know. What is Shadow's Legacy? What's it about?

The hero Keirran, struggles with guilt stemming from past acts of betrayal. A betrayal, which led to him being banished from Nevermore. Now he rules  The Between, the world of the Forgotten.  The Forgotten are Feys of the darkness. Meanwhile, in the human realm, his best friends are on the verge of getting married. His guilty conscience had him second guessing attending. However, as the best man he had no choice but to be present. Also not attending would mean incurring the wrath of  his friends. Upon his arrival and prior to the start of the wedding,  he found himself in an interesting situation created by Puck. In offering to help he came face to face with a dangerous assassin. I enjoyed this short but exciting trip into the world of the Iron Fey. Now I am looking forward to reading the Iron Raven. Also I feel the need to  read the books written prior to this new series. I can’t believe I passed up the opportunity to jump into this world years ago, but as they say, better late than never. Puck and Nyx intrigued me, and learning  they would be appearing in the Iron Raven had me all excited. Overall, Shadow Legacy proved to be a wonderful introduction into this magical world for newbies.  It is also a great way for fans of this world to catch up with their favourite characters. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading

This novella was fun to read and made me realize how much I missed The Iron Fey series! I liked how this book was from Kieran's POV because I got to see how he's coping with the aftermath of the last series. This book mainly focuses on fixing a prank gone wrong by Puck before Ethan and Kenzie's wedding. I enjoyed reading about my favourite characters again and was interested to see what the potential threat would be in the newest series. It was so fun going back to this world! I have always had a soft spot for Keirran so this novella from his POV was fun and it definitely sets up what is to come in the new series. Loved checking in with old friends again and this was a quick and fun read.

Julie Kagawa returns to the world of The Iron Fey with a brand new series starting in February. Kierran has been adjusting to his new role as the King of the Forgotten. He knows he still has a lot to make up for due to his actions. He betrayed his friends and all of Faery trying to do what he thought was right for the Forgotten Queen, but they were not of like mind anymore and he killed her. But not everyone forgets, though his friends Ethan and Kenzie have already forgiven him. It was meant to be a special day for Ethan and Kenzie as they were about to get married when Puck's little wedding gift got a bit out of hand. Trying to help his friends out and save the wedding from a disaster, Kierran finds himself staring down a new threat, one named Nyx who is looking for the Forgotten Queen. It's been five years since I read the end of Ethan's trilogy and there have been many books since then. I can't remember everything but I do remember Kierran not being exactly what he thought he was. This was sort of a nice redeeming story for Kierran, though it does seem he still has a lot more to do to earn everyone's forgiveness back. I was a bit baffled that this story was starring Kierran, since the next book stars Puck. Thankfully, that's my next read, so answers ahoy! My guess is that Kierran and Puck may be crossing paths again. It will definitely be something to see! I've always found Julie's novellas to be fun little reads between books. They prove to be insightful as well to what's to come for the characters. This one presents a bit of a pickle though since there looks like a change in heroes, but I'm eager to find out what will happen! Plus, any Julie Kagawa read is a good idea anyway! Overall Rating 4.5/5 stars

This novella is a great teaser for Iron Raven. The hype (at least mine) is real. Puck is still the troublemaker he is; Ash and Meghan are still perfectly in love; Grimalkin comes and goes as he pleases; Ethan is still a tough guy but finally marrying Kenzie (they're so adorable, i cannot!!); and Kierran? He's apparently taking his Kingly duties to heart, which is good. I would love this redemption arc for him! Which brings me to Iron Raven. Obvs it's Puck. It's his symbol (?) And the sneak peak for chapter 1 explains his origin story. So, definitely looking forward to more of that! 💜

It was a beautifully told story about Keirran in a more of redemption way we know he has had some mistakes but in the land of fey who hasn't made major mistakes? It was interesting to see him wanting to redeem himself. I really think he's trying to turn it around anyway he can. It will be interesting to see how this plays out!

A fun little novella from Kierran's POV, set after the "Call of the Forgotten" trilogy and before the new "Evenfall" series out this year. We basically get a little glimpse into the lifes of everyone after The Iron Warrior, but nothing big or surprising. Ethan and Kenzie are getting married, so I honestly thought the story would revolve more around them then Kierran. Instead we mostly get Kierran being a whiny, self-suffering martyr 🤷‍♀️ Still, I loved being back in The Iron Fey world, laughing at A fun little novella from Kierran's POV, set after the "Call of the Forgotten" trilogy and before the new "Evenfall" series out this year. Yeah it's a novella, so it's very short and it's mainly about Keirran who is trying to act normal on the wedding day of his best friend, while also trying to cope with so much regret and guilt for his great betrayal from the previous series. Kinda sad to feel his great longing of his dead love, Annwyl. He also gets a sort of a new beautiful lethal company, whom he is still deciding whether it's an ally or a foe. I still have the same feelings for Julie Kagawa's Nevernever. I read the first book of The Iron Fey series about 8 years ago. I realized I complained in my previous review of The Iron Warrior about Ethan and how I wished it were told from Keirran's perspective instead, and here my wish was granted LOL. My only complaint about this prequel is that it was too short. I love Keirran's whole Jack the Pumpkin King brooding thing going on, the flashback to the moment with Annwyl, momentary comic relief with Puck and the doves, Ethan and Kenzie grossness kept to a minimum, and NYX AS A NEW CHARACTER. I LOVE HER. Short story introducing the new Iron Fey series: Evenfall. It’s about Keirran, now the King of the Forgotten in between city of Touchstone attending the human wedding of Kenzie and Ethan. While there he gets involved helping out with a problem caused by Puck, leading him to an unexpected foe in his new realm. Fave scene: the field of yellow flowers.

I loved going back into the Iron Fey world. This short novella is from the POV of Kierran. You get introduced to a new character named Nyx and learn about a new threat to the Fey. I liked that Ethan and Kenzie finally got married. I loved that all my favorite Fey were there. Overall, this novella is a must read before starting “The Iron Raven.”

I’m really Glad that I remembered to read this before the iron raven! I loved seeing Kierran’s pov, and I really hope that he’s an ally instead of the villain in the raven fall books! I have a hope that Nyx will be a very good character, she seems like she has lots of potential to be one of my favorites! Of course I loved seeing Puck and him up to his crazy antics (with the doves) 😆
