Patience is a virtue – and a necessity! Kelly Curtiss offers a terrific new children’s book that is not only beautifully illustrated and written in excellent rhyming format, it also carries a fine way to explain the need for patience in regards to growing into adulthood. This is Book 3 in Kelly’s ELLY ELEPHANT series. The story opens warmly – ‘Elly Elephant was very small but she wanted to be tall’ and that leads into Elly’s discussion with her mother about Elly wanting to reach leaves in a tree, Patience is a virtue – and a necessity! This is Book 3 in Kelly’s ELLY ELEPHANT series. The story opens warmly – ‘Elly Elephant was very small but she wanted to be tall’ and that leads into Elly’s discussion with her mother about Elly wanting to reach leaves in a tree, to which her mother replies, ‘You must wait ‘til you grow at a later date.’ Elly is not satisfied with the message and proceeds to ask her dad who shows her that with her trunk, Elly can reach the lower branches to grab the leaves and berries! Happy with her progress, Elly continues to practice with her trunk, with patience, knowing that one day she will be tall enough to reach the tallest trees! Not only is the book entertaining, but also the lesson presented is excellent – patience in growing up – for all members of a family. Highly Recommended.

Elly Learns More Life Lessons Little Elly was watching others eat fruit right from the trees and she was sad because she didn't know how and was to short. She went to her mom, but she said Elly would have to grow. She was still watching the others. She went to her father. What did he tell her? Did he show her how or did he tell her she would need to grow? This is a cute story about wanting to be grown and what you can do about it. This is a great read together or listen to bedtime story. The pictures were great. Simple story to tell a simple lesson. Just because your small doesn’t mean you can’t learn new things. Just means you can do things differently. (Disclaimer: I received a free copy from the Author. Does not affect my review)
