This is a great book for a novice or someone who wants to keep things simple. When you are pressure cooking, I think simple is what almost everyone is after. Most of the recipes rely on pre-packaged ingredients (like teriyaki sauce or chicken broth), which is easy in a pinch. All recipes, yes ALL, have photos. Unfortunately, most one pot meals aren't always picturesque but that doesn't mean they aren't delicious. There are plenty of main dishes, soups, sides and desserts. I don't often use cookbooks. Probably because I don't often cook. But this cookbook made me actually excited to start cooking and using my Instant Pot more! I also love how many different recipes there are: basic foods, main dishes, side dishes, snacks, drinks, and desserts. I think this is the only Instant Pot cookbook I'll I don't often use cookbooks. I will say that this cookbook requires you to already be familiar with an Instant Pot and have access to some additional accessories. But overall, this book is perfect for whoever wants to use their Instant Pot to make delicious recipes. Overall: 5 Thank you, Shadow Mountain, for the review copy!

I regularly use it for a couple of recipes, so this was just the push I needed. I don't love the look of this cookbook's cover with the mustard color and the image of the pasta dish, but I am happy they kept with the wipeable cover and color photos of each recipe. My Instant Pot only came with a trivet, so I didn't have the accessories needed for many of the recipes. I did order a set though, and am looking forward to testing them soon. So far I've made the hot chocolate, the apple crisp and the honey-soy pork chops. I was low on milk so I halved the recipe for the hot chocolate. When I did the pressure release I was very surprised to have hot chocolate spray out. I've only ever had steam come out of the pressure valve before. The inside of the pot and lid were splattered, and the mixture needed a lot more whisking. It tasked quite good, but the mess makes me hesitant to try it again. I wonder if I hadn't halved it if I would have still had the same issues. The apple crisp was very tasty. The instructions said to only cook it for 1 minute though, and that didn't sound right. I googled it and found a Six Sisters video for apple crisp where she said she cooks it for 5 minutes, so I did that instead. I don't think the oats would have been cooked enough if I'd followed the written instructions. The pork chops had such a good flavor and were easy. They were tough, but I don't know that I've ever had pork chops that aren't tough. One misnomer about the Instant Pot is that it's, well, instant. This cookbook is packed with yummy sounding recipes, and while I agree with the cover's claim that they're easy and delicious, don't take the title "Instant Cooking" as an indication of how quickly your meals will be ready. I'm very interested in trying the corn bread, for example, but the total time listed is one hour-30 minutes longer than it takes me to make my go-to recipe in the oven.

I requested and received a temporary digital Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley, the publisher and the author in exchange for an honest review. From the publisher, as I do not repeat the contents or story of books in reviews, I let them do it as they do it better than I do 😸. In their tenth cookbook, bloggers "Six Sisters’ Stuff" make Instant Pot© cooking a snap with quick-and-easy recipes and a how-to guide for using this must-have essential kitchen cooking tool. This cookbook covers each meal of the day and features classic recipes retooled for Instant Pot© cooking like Hawaiian Meatballs as well as new dishes like Dr. Pepper Pulled Pork. By following the “Instant Pot How-to Guide,” chefs can learn how to use this tool to easily cook food that has robust flavours. Each recipe contains clear instructions for prep and specific pressure cooking times from start to ready-to-serve. I love my instantPot© --- my only complaint is the lack of being able to make chicken skin crispy and crunchy...I don't eat the skin but it does render the fat nicely so I can rip it off and add it to my "stock ingredients stache" in the freezer. The recipes here are not highfalutin but everyday good food that you and your family can adore and eat over and over again The instructions in the book are wonderful and the recipes are well written and understandable by cooks of all levels. What I especially love about the book is that it uses mostly whole ingredients instead of pre-prepared and packaged/boxed foods. I do draw the line at making my own cheese beyond a quickly-made mozzarella, and canning tomatoes but the more "ingredients" you use the better. My one nephew says that I never have any food in my house, only ingredients --- that is why I cook so much. I also refuse to eat or cook with Frankenfoods such as "chick'n" and its 88 ingredients vs. 🐔chicken🐔 having one!) As always, I try to find a reason to not rate with stars as I simply adore emojis (outside of their incessant use by "🙏-ed Social Influencer Millennials/#BachelorNation survivors/Tik-Tok and YouTube Millionaires/snowflakes / literally-like-overusers etc. " on Instagram and Twitter... Get a real job, people!) so let's give it 🍗🍗🍗🍗🍗

I have had my Instant Pot for several years, and I kinda love it, but am still pretty intimidated by it. I was hoping that by getting this cookbook, I would start to use it more. So far, it has not. But that might be more because I just don't really enjoy cooking and have a hard time motivating myself to do so. At any rate, I've made 3 of the recipes so far and have a handful more down on my menu plan for the next week or two. At any rate, I've made 3 of the recipes so far and have a handful more down on my menu plan for the next week or two. We really enjoyed the Buffalo Chicken Wraps and Homemade Ground Turkey Pasta Sauce. I changed that recipe up a bit by adding the spaghetti in and trying to cook it all at the same time. That's going to take some tweaking, but the sauce was really good. I made the homemade yogurt today - which was actually a main reason that I bought this thing in the first place, and I've never been brave enough to try it before now - it's cooling in the fridge now, so hopefully when we try it tomorrow, it will be good. My kids devour yogurt like it's going out of style, so making it instead of buying it would be really nice. I admit I wasn't all that thrilled with the cover of the book. Kind of brown and bland. I prefer colors that are bright and pop off the page. That being said, the food pictures inside the book are well done and look very appetizing. All in all, I'm happy to add this book to my collection.

I'll be honest...I was hoping for a little bit more from this cookbook. The introduction gives a quick run-through of what you need for instant/multicooker cooking and some basics. It would've been nice to have pictures of the extra items recommended (visual learners). There is a picture for every recipe, which is always a plus for a cookbook (why some cookbooks skip pictures, I'll never know). There were several recipes that caught my eye that I can't wait to try, but, for the most part, nothing really wow or must-have/must-try, in my opinion. Still, a great recipe book with great step-by-step instructions specific for multicookers/Instant Pots, but really, IMO, for someone who has a little experience with one but is not looking for any really elaborate recipes. IMO, a great resource for more of a beginner to intermediate cook.

Have you started cooking with an Instant Pot yet? I love mine for so many reasons. I’ll just be honest and say the thing I cook the most is probably hard boiled eggs. They are just so easy in the Instant Pot. But I’ve tried many other things. Mac and Cheese is one of my family’s favorites. And it’s so much easier not to boil the pasta on the stove. So far I’ve tried Chicken Tacos and Cheesy Penne Pasta. Even my picky eaters ate these recipes. So that’s a win. And both were so easy. I love the dump and go Chicken Tacos especially. It was easy to start dinner and walk away to help my son with his homework as it was cooking. You can’tt go wrong with recipes from Six Sisters’ Stuff! It was eye opening to see how much easier and quicker some recipes are when cooked in an instant pot. My favorite time saver is the recipe for potato salad – the potatoes and hard-boiled eggs cook in the instant pot at the same time! I had never heard of doing that before. And the eggs are easy to peel too, the shells practically slide off. In addition to helpful tips and great recipes, this book is pleasing to the eye. Like the other cookbooks by Six Sisters’ Stuff, it is a nice size with thick, high quality paper. Every recipe includes a beautiful picture, and the ingredients are listed in a colored font making it easier to read. There are a few pages of helpful tips at the beginning which are especially useful for those new to using an instant pot. My favorite tip is to fold a long piece of aluminum foil into a sling and place it in the insert before any accessory pans to easily lift them out. There isn’t anything I didn’t like about this book, but it would be helpful to have an index grouping the recipes by extra equipment needed. The accessories called for in some of the recipes are: steamer basket, 7” springform pan, 7” cake pan, glass lid, bundt pan, and silicone egg bites molds - but many of the recipes can be made without additional accessories. Thanks to Shadow Mountain Publishing for an ARC to use for my review.

This cookbook has helped me brave the world of pressure cooking! I owned an Instant Pot for years without using it once because it scared me more than intrigued me. I sold it, and once the multi-cooker came into existence I was willing to give it a try again. These recipes are easy to follow and can grow with any level chef. I’m excited to try more recipes from this book and add new attachments to my multi-cooker as my experience grows! Thank you to the publisher for a copy of this cookbook. The instant pot has been something that I have been trying to use more of and this Six Sisters’ Stuff cookbook has given me some inspiration. I have just stuck to the basic recipes in the past and after reading through this book I feel more confident to tackle something a bit more complex. ❀ INSTANT COOKING WITH SIX SISTERS’ STUFF CONTENTS: Basics Main Dishes Side Dishes Desserts and Snacks ❀ SIMPLE DIRECTIONS There are lots of bright and colourful photographs throughout the book and the authors use very simple language and directions to follow that put newbie instant pot chefs at ease. Many of the recipes involve pre-packaged foods as a time-saving strategy, however the tips and tricks included with the recipes are invaluable. I tried my hand at the apple crisp recipe, which is quite similar to the one that I typically bake in my oven. The prep time was the same, but the total cooking time of 15 minutes has made this dessert fast and easy for me to prepare. The only downside is the lack of crisp on the top, as is the case with pressurized cooking. It was definitely a yummy and satisfying treat that I can see myself making again. ❀ INSPIRING DISHES If you are in need of some inspiring dishes to create with an instant pot, Instant Cooking With Six Sisters’ Stuff is one to try. The book is easy to follow and includes lots of great images. It is a perfect resource for anyone new to using an instant pot.
