Crime Doesn’t Pay Let me start by saying that this is basically a 5-Star story. However, it needs a bit of tweaking, some minor editing in the main book, but major editing in the so-called extended epilogue. In the extension, names are changed, even within the short text. Even the main character has a different name part of the time. The children’s names change, as well as which one is in the mom’s arms. More than disappointing. I’ve also never heard of apple orchards in Texas, especially not the Crime Doesn’t Pay Let me start by saying that this is basically a 5-Star story. I was surprised at the feelings the book aroused in me, for example sadness at the pain the characters inflicted on innocent people. It speaks to how beautifully Ava related the events, along with the accompanying emotions. On a personal note, I’m sad that the author has opted to join others in the practice of manipulating readers into giving their email address to read (“buy”) the entire story. It’s not right.

Good plot, poorly written The plot was cute, original which is pleasant with unique characters. Sadly, this novel is riddled with grammatical errors. When each chapter has numerous errors it becomes laborious to read. The reader is forced to decipher the meaning of botched sentences and incongruent text. Far worse for a historical novel is poor research combined with inappropriate phrasing and context. Never would a mid- nineteenth century outlaw utter the phrase "“Nah, that’s okay." Far worse for a historical novel is poor research combined with inappropriate phrasing and context. Never would a mid- nineteenth century outlaw utter the phrase "“Nah, that’s okay." It would be absurd to think an unmarried man and woman would share 2 beds in the same hotel room without others being appalled. Other items described weren't present or invented yet in that time frame. These types of errors are, again, in every chapter. All in all, the concept is good but execution is seriously lacking.

I highly recommend this book.

A Better Life for Sannie Sannie made a living as a con artist. She did not like this life style but had to eat. She was also very good at it. But when she meets Sheriff Roy, she recognizes him from her past. But how could that be? He was living a respectable life. I enjoyed the story of Sannie and Roy. Their characters are well developed. Complicated The story delivered such a complex story of love, life, and relationships. Each character was profound and had such a rich background. You can definitely tell how much life pulled them in different directions and then pushed them together. It was wonderful!

Cute story. Needs some editing but different from the norm if you can wade through the grammatical and spelling errors. Story of Sannie and Roy but a lot of twists and turns to get there. Standalone, HEA.
