I really enjoyed this book with its quirky characters. The cast of characters is what makes this series for me, the different personalities that have come together to make a family, works well and the magic has added a fun element with all the trouble it causes. It is a light hearted mystery, with a not very complicated mystery. It was obvious who the bad guy was and there weren't that many suspects but it was still a lot of fun getting there. I can't wait for the next book. When a visitor dies after paying a visit to one of the elderly residents at the Sunnyside retired witches community, Zoey never dreamed that she would become the prime suspect or that the deaths would have a connection to her past. Sorry reading one of the residents might be behind it sets out to investigate, as all the residents are like family to her. The elderly residents feel the same way about Zoey and they set out to clear her name, even in that means tampering with evidence or placing ward's to the police can't enter and arrest her. With everybody working hard on solving the murder will they be able to solve it before somebody dies. Or are they leaving themselves open to attack from within? I liked the narrator and thought she did a good job with the wide range of male and female voices needed for the story. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Zoey Rivers is the director of the Sunnyside Retirement Witches Community. they get quite a few visitors, some for the entertainment and some who volunteer. One of the non-volunteers ends up dead and Zoey needs to figure out what happened. Meanwhile, the residents hatch up a plan for the retirement center to have a psychic on staff who might be able to help with their abnormal number of murders. It just happens that an older psychic lives next door and is ready to move in. Another fun story with different plot devices that make it enjoyable and still a maintain the murder. I have been enjoying this series because the characters are interesting and often hilarious.

While I continue to enjoy the characters in this series, there are two problems I keep coming up against. The author, or perhaps just the story, seems to be unclear about whether this is a retirement community or a care home, which are two very different things. And the MC's family history was basically retconned and their reconciliation glossed over, which is huge disappointment because that was one of the most complex and interesting things about her background. Yet another great book I think my favourite book in the series. I wanted something easy to read to take my mind off the chaos going on in the world and stumbled across this series. I have loved each book and have learnt the importance of friends and family and as I always say family does not need to be blood as this book proves. I would recommend this book and the series and have already done so.

This book the whole family got in on, including the ones she didn't choose. The mystery ends up captivating the entire witches retirement community. They try their best to protect, hide evidence & even solve the crimes. They would do anything for Zoey it seems. This book opens a can of worms for Zoey when it comes to her feelings. This she thought she worked through it seems she only pushed down to avoid. This book the whole family got in on, including the ones she didn't choose. Third book in the series, this one a bit too paranormal for me (demons, genies, and fairies). But I did like the main characters and the concept of a retirement community for witches.

Travis always claimed that he had a stash of gold but he could not remember where he had hidden it. Poor Travis certainly needed gold because he and his boys could only just about manage to scrape enough up of him to stay at the retirement home. But when Lawanda, a younger woman kept following him around asking him to let her help him with it, she obviously believed in his stash. These zany characters are fun and make me smile and you know they mean well even though the way they go about doing things may be a little...….different? And Steve is lovely, I am so glad that Zoey and he are thinking about taking their relationship a little further into the romantic phase.

Best one yet!!! This series is getting better. This story has 'more meat on the bone' than previous ones. It was edgier?, kept me reading and not wanting to put it down. Had a couple of issues: first is the cover made think it was going to be a mummy involved. I was intrigued. Just got the play on words when writing this. Second, Zoey would start to figure out how to communicate with someone with no words but never followed through. I knew what to do early one. i also felt that the issue of why protecting was left unfinished, was expecting more. Maybe more in the next book? This is my honest and freely given review. As head of a witch's retirement home, Zoey takes the daily crazy in stride but seeing her parents again, especially her mother, throws her for a loop. Sunnyside Retirement Witches Community has another murder nearby, and again one of her elderly witches is a suspect. To help her have a place at the home she officially hires Iris, a psychic, her services being paid with rent-free living at the Community.
