Five Stars★★★★★ One of the greatest fics I have ever read in my entire life. If you're planning to read this prepare your tissues because you are going to cry. A lot. Very original idea of Louis being the owner of a lighthouse slash hotel in a remote island in Scotland. His peaceful life is interrupted by a mysterious man. By the end I couldn't read a sentence without bursting into tears of how painful it was and how beautiful the words I was reading were. Beautiful writing style. I know. I know I said that Young and Beautiful would forever be my first and only fanfiction because nothing could ever compare to it. Well. Here I am. And thank God, because Tired Tired Sea is fucking perfect and I have no regrets. The characters? Freaking brilliant. The setting? The only place I want to be right now. The storyline? Heart-wrenchingly beautiful. Me? A SOBBING MESS. ~ Re-read: Still sobbing. Still in love with this wonderful story.

this is absolutely the most beautiful story i have ever read. the most beautiful piece of literature. at times, i think back on this fan fiction, and forget that it was just that. a fan fiction. i would give up my heart and soul for this to be published as a physical book. i loved absolutely everything about it. the melancholy especially. something about the gloom and loneliness made me feel at home, made me feel welcome in this tiny world captured in words. almost as if i belonged there. becaus this is absolutely the most beautiful story i have ever read. the most beautiful piece of literature. at times, i think back on this fan fiction, and forget that it was just that. a fan fiction. i would give up my heart and soul for this to be published as a physical book. i loved absolutely everything about it. the melancholy especially. something about the gloom and loneliness made me feel at home, made me feel welcome in this tiny world captured in words. almost as if i belonged there. because of this, fair isle has made it to the top of my bucket list. the only problem is, if i ever visit it, i dont think i will ever be able to come back. and i guess everyone would feel the same after reading this. this fan fiction has made me want to move to scotland. i will always cherish it, and remember that it affected me and my life choices very deeply

Fan Fiction isn’t my usual go-to, but with recently becoming a Harry Styles fan, it was pretty tough to look away from. Since I was giving it a try, I figured I better find the best, and aside from a few typos and grammatical errors, Tired, Tired Sea is almost perfect. The author gives you such gorgeous Scottish scenery, you feel like you are on a seaside vacation, and by the end of the book, I really, really just wanted to move to that quaint little island! The author gives you such gorgeous Scottish scenery, you feel like you are on a seaside vacation, and by the end of the book, I really, really just wanted to move to that quaint little island! I love that it’s not a smut filled romp - instead, a compelling, heart-wrenching love story. Although it is LGBTQ based, when I was in the trenches with the two lovers, I didn’t notice. These two people, who happen to be men, have that all-encompassing, once in a lifetime love that made me wish I had the same. For anyone who denies all love is love, they just need to read this achingly beautiful piece of writing to see the truth. I haven’t cried over a book in years, but this one hit me hard.

I've never cried this much since forever! So this is my first fanfic, I was trying to resist it but as a Larry that I am I just had to read it. Everyone on my side of the fandom were talking about it and I just couldn't resist. It turned out way better that I expected. No regrets. I'm not lying when I say I was in tears the whole damn book. Not at the end or some chapters. The entire book. I kinda feel dehydrated though. I've never cried this much since forever! My favorite book in the entire world. I cannot explain my love for this book. I think about it every morning when I make my cup of tea. I think about it whenever the power goes out, whenever I read a book out loud, whenever I wear a sweater. This book changed my life. I will be moving to Fair Isle when I grow up. :)

This was stunning. I sat and read it all in one sitting, too good to put down. The author did such a good job of bringing these people to life and making me connect with them. My heart aches after reading this and I want to start it all over again. Yes, the ending is quick and I could have kept reading their story for hundreds more pages but I’ll take what I can get. So so brilliant ❤️

This is such a lovely story, well written, poetic and quite a comforting read. Both characters are portrayed in a way that feels realistic and true to the actual people (which I like). I've read it twice and would read it again. The setting is lovely and it just makes you want to be there. This is such a lovely story, well written, poetic and quite a comforting read. Best book I’ve read in a while. I was having trouble sleeping and opened this up at 1:30 am to help me unwind. I couldn’t put it down and literally finished it at 6:30 am. Best night of no sleep ever. Amazing. Highly recommend.

The best love story I've ever read. I used to read a lot of romantic books and that's absolutely the best one. You should turn it into a proper romance, I think we'll all buy it twice.
