I don't usually like reading books where I know the outcome before I start and I'm definitely ambivalent about prequels. I often find they either don't marry-up with what I already know or they repeat too much of what has already been covered in the main series, without adding anything new. About a quarter of this story has been covered in the Intertwined Souls Series of books, but the rest is new. Much of the story is about Zoe growing from an inept, impulsive and at times annoying young girl to I don't usually like reading books where I know the outcome before I start and I'm definitely ambivalent about prequels. This is a decent story and if possible I would have given 3.5 stars.

Zoe the Warrior!! I really enjoyed this book and the character of Zoe. It’s very different from all the many WWII books I have read. The love of family, devotion and loyalty was beautiful to read about. I loved many of the characters. It is a great book. I was planning on reading the next 6 in the series, but when I discovered Zoe gets involved in a love relationship with another woman I had to change my mind. I’m not willing to read that scenario. I’m not up for that. I’m sorry I’ll be missing o Zoe the Warrior!! I really enjoyed this book and the character of Zoe. It’s very different from all the many WWII books I have read. Great prequil It was great to get the backstory to the series which I have enjoyed. Not being a student of history, it was interesting to get a better understanding of the Greek perspective of Germany, and Italy. Rich characters, and strong women always make me glad that I found Mary Brooks books. Keep them coming.

Excellent Book! Zoe possessed the heart and courage of a lion. Forced to grow up quickly and take responsibility, she is guided by elders and history.
