Asher and Zayn were so incredibly cute together. They made one of the most interesting and unique shifter pairings I’ve ever read about. They were a perfect match and I really loved reading their story and seeing them get the happily ever after they so much deserved. I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Enticing Enigma is the 12th book in Shea Balik's Miracle series. I've enjoyed Balik's writing since discovering them through Siren Publishing and I've been loving the Miracle series. For those that love the whole romantic ideal behind soul mates and mating, especially in paranormal/shape shifting stories, then this is a series that I recommend. Since this is the 12th book in the series, I strongly advise newcomers to the world of Miracle to read from the start. I did a quick skim read of the 1st Enticing Enigma is the 12th book in Shea Balik's Miracle series. I did a quick skim read of the 1st and 11th books to reacquaint myself with some of the previous couples and the story line of the troubles plaguing the Miracle, a town of safe shelter for many shifters and other paranormal beings. What I love about Enticing enigma is that this is a story of opposites attracting (or rather fate pairing up two men that, on the outside, are complete opposites). At first glance Asher Walker and Zayn Phelps are incompatible, and it's not because Asher is a Canadian Goose shifter and Zayn is a Komodo Dragon shifter. Since shifters are human, as the characters also argue, the predator prey dynamics are not the same, particularly when it comes to mates. Instead, the differences between Asher and Zayn are more obvious. Zayn is a proper introvert, childhood trauma means that Zayn struggles being around people and communicating with others is a monumental task. He has a handful of friends, but their well meaning encouragement to get him associating with people (as well as getting Miracle the much needed mechanic they needed to work on trucks and larger machinery) has Zayn more inclined to not want to do this work (and probably a touch hurt that his friends don't truly understand him). On the other hand, Asher is Zayn's perfect opposite. He loves to talk and he talks at length. He comes by the trait honestly, he says his mother was a bigger talker than he was. He's been in Miracle for 2 years now, and that is the longest he's been able to live anywhere without being sent off since he was kicked out of his gaggle at the age of 17 - after his parents died in a car accident. Asher can't help that he can't stop talking, he can talk to anyone about anything, it's just his thing. Unfortunately, some people mistake his accidental gossiping for being malicious and that, amongst other things, makes it hard for people to accident - or so it seems. A lot of people seem to love Asher, but one incident left Miracle's alpha threatening to kick Asher out of the pack. And now Asher has met his mate, who doesn't like people or talking. Now all of Asher's fears and nerves are not helping his need to talk. However, together Zayn and Asher are perfect together. Zayn feel relaxed with Asher. Zayn doesn't need to think and isn't worried that he can't communicate - although when it comes to expressing his feelings to his mate Zayn does wish that he could be a better communicator (honestly, I think that is so cute!). Asher fears his mate, who is also a predator, wouldn't be able to accept him and this makes up a big part of the book. But Zayn's protective instinct and attraction to his mate help him overcome his social fears, while Asher's acceptance is much slower it is also happening. Both Zayn and Asher learn more about his each other and grow as people. The only criticism I have is that I felt that Asher's story wasn't overly developed. While his back story gave enough details to make me more than happy with the present story, I wanted a little bit more on his need to talk - besides the fact his mother was also a talker. On the other hand, I really liked the back story for Zayn, where he explained why he didn't like talking to people and how nervous it made him.

4.5 STARS I think this story might be my favourite of the series so far. Asher isn’t popular amongst the population of Miracle. Although most would declare him one of the nicest shifters around, he always seems to cause trouble, unintentionally of course, because he just can’t stop talking. Tell the guy a secret and it won’t be a secret for long. Poor Asher has so far been run out of every town or city he’s tried to settle in, and if Miracle doesn’t want him then he has no idea where else he can go. When I started this story I had a feeling I was going to dislike Asher’s character. A goose shifter who can’t stop talking to save his life? It seems like one of those characters that makes no real sense, who are solely created to encourage conflict to drive a plot. But this author actually pulled off Asher-the-chatterbox, whose ceaseless prattling is caused by a combination of nerves, a desire to connect with others and the belief that he shouldn’t have to change who he is in order to be accepted. This honking, waddling goose-man was absolutely endearing and I loved the way Zayn was so instantly accepting and protective of his chattery mate. It wasn’t a story about insta-love, although there is always an element of that with fated mates, but it was the instant acceptance that made this book special in my opinion. This story has a much gentler pace than most of the books in this series, with the focus being on the relationship between the main characters rather than the endless battles fought to protect the town of Miracle. As with most series of this length, it really is best to read these books in order, although each story does feature a new main couple. PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!! To my ratings: A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*: 5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King), it's like an A+ 4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!! I think, every time I will see now a goose, I'll see Asher...

I was so happy to see another addition to this series, Miracle, which is one of my favorites. Asher was a goose shifter who couldn't seem to stop talking, and Zayn was a Komodo Dragon shifter who was extremely uncomfortable around people. They were mates who fit together perfectly, and the storyline was interesting. I loved seeing a lot of my favorite characters from previous stories again and I appreciated the way the author helped us to remember certain events from the past. 4.5* When I first 'met' Asher with Iniko , I figured he was going to be a bit obnoxious just because he was a gossip. But ready his story, I love the guy. He can't help but babble and yes, it would drive me nuts because my.kid does it lol, but he's just so endearing and wears his heart on his sleeve. He really means well. He just can't stop talking. Asher is just so adorably awkward and sweet. He has zero brain to mouth filter, which leaves him lonely because people tend to avoid him. Zayan has the opposite problem, he's socially awkward and hates dealing with people. When they meet and realize they're mates, Zayan becomes Asher's fierce protector, which in turn helps him gain confidence. A really sweet story about the healing power of love. Loved This opposites attract was absolutely perfect. Definitely a hurt/comfort theme on both sides. I really liked that the opposites attract part was focused more on both making sure they knew that they were loved just how they are and not on fighting. Def reccomend.

Asher talks a lot but is so sweet and adorable. Zayn does not like crowds or people. Then they discover they are mates. Be prepared with tissues and the overwhelming urge to wrap Asher in hugs then Zayn. Also, I have not read the other books in the series (yet) and still enjoyed the book.
