The author hasn't revealed how many books will be in the series (of if she knows) so there's no way for readers to know what the total cost will be. Price increases/plus not knowing how many books will in a series is not a good combo. I'm trying to be more articulate in my reviews when I criticize how a series is structured/the marketing. So I'd like to add that at this point in M/F Omegaverse if I see a serial series I need the series to be already complete OR If it isn't there needs to be an upcoming expected release date for the next book for me to try out the series. ___

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this one. It seemed to be missing something but I can't quite put my finger on it. This was an intense Omega/Alpha story. Twin Omegas are trying to survive in a time where Omegas are sold and abused. And they endure so many atrocities. Heed the warning doe this one.

OMG! OMG! Oh my stars this story is an emotional roller coaster. It has a very dark theme about twins. There is a twist I have never seen in a book each twin ends up in different situations and places. Places they could have never imagine! If you are faint of heart please don't read this book. I can't wait for the continuation of Arden and Sera stories. OMG! OMG! Oh my stars this story is an emotional roller coaster. It has a very dark theme about twins. Edited to add: just found out its a serial... so the length of the book makes sense but the price is crazy high. Most serial books should be between 1-3$ MAX. Let me start off by saying that I loved the premise of this book and it could very well become a 5 star read for me. It was just chopped and felt rushed. I personally do not feel like that is worth what you get, but if the author made some changes and progressed the story, then I think 5$ would be an accurate price. I will describe some constructive criticism below but be warned**Spoilers ahead** Here's what I loved: - The book had split perspectives from both the main h and the h's twin brother. I thought this gave the story added depth and an interesting take as you don't often see that. - The h goes through a super tough, traumatic time as an omega female, and the story had lots of angst because of that (loved)!! - the males were alpha and protective, another love for me. Heres what I did not like and what made me drop two stars: - It was such a short book that I felt there was no real time for any major character development. We didn't get to see a lot of monumental moments between some of the characters. > Suggestions: while I quite enjoyed having the brothers story and perspective in here, if you want to keep in under a certain page limit perhaps remove the brothers story line and make it a spin off instead. Then we can focus on the h and get more from her. -The ending was SUPER cut short. Like i thought make I was missing pages or something. The h just experienced a super traumatic rape and her and her men escaped, and then she finds out shes pregnant and then bang end. No healing. Two lines of comfort from her men. To summarize: I love the plot, the characters and the writing style. It just was too rushed and is priced incorrectly for the length of the story. I would love to re-read this book if it was added on to.

Torn Apart is a novel by D.E. Chapman about two twins being separated. This book luckily comes with some trigger warnings to help readers decide whether or not they want to read it. The big one for me was rape as that is one of the few things that trigger me. But I decided that even with that warning I would continue reading. The sex scenes tend to be of dubious consent (dubcon). This book is an Omegaverse which is a complicated thing to explain as the sub-genre can go a million different ways depending on what the author wants to do. But, to keep it simple, there is a dynamic of Alpha/Beta/Omega. This book has Alphas and Omegas part of breeding while Betas sort of just exist. A/B/O is based on the stereotypical ideas of a wolf pack. So back to the majority of the sex scenes...Seraphine and Arden are both Omegas and go into heat. So at first their bodies drive them to have sex but then they end up bonding with the Alphas that had sex with them. If you consider this rape, or are also triggered by dubcon, you will need to pass up on this book. Seraphine and Arden are both given dark paths to walk down. With Seraphine having the darkest storyline out of the pair. How she changes throughout the book is heartbreaking but in a really good way. I truly felt for her and felt frightened every moment she was tortured. I would recommend Torn Apart to those that don't mind their books getting more than a little dark.

These genres do not suit all readers. This story is extremely dark. It’s my first time reading this author and I can say without reservation, that it will not be the last time. We are eased into the story of Omega Twins, Seraphine and Arden and their slightly less than idyllic family setting tucked away in the woods. They live a secretive existence aided by their parents in a world where Omegas like them are nothing more than commodities to be sold or traded to the highest bidder. Without giving away any spoilers, I will just say that we go from the relatively simple seclusion of family life in the woods to separation and unspeakable acts being committed to and for both Omegas who are separated for the first time ever in their lives. This story ends with a TBC so expect a cliff hanger. If you are looking for a HEA then you should move along. This book is not for you. Try something in the light and fluffy romance genre. If you love some filthy grit mixed in to your (I hesitate to say) romance, then you will love the challenge this story represents. This book carries trigger warnings for a good reason. Some scenes contained within are extremely disturbing. Beware. I gave it 3 stars

Serious triggers There are lots of warnings provided by the author and they aren't a joke. There is some very dark content here but I think its well done. As well done as that sort of thing can be anyway. So, in general I enjoyed it, as twisted as it was. It definitely pushed my boundaries for the level of dark I could handel though. The only reason I gave it 4 stars, instead of five, was because it was not very well fleshed out. The characters, even the twins, were pretty flat. I think that was due to the length of the book though. The book is very short, but with KU I dont mind that really. I just felt that it was missing a lot of what makes a story really dynamic. Even with out that it still evoked some strong emotions so maybe it was better that the characters weren't fully fleshed out. If they had been some of the content might have been too hard to read for me. Super dark, lots of triggers, some serious steam, overall pretty good. 👍

I'm looking forward to the next book. Hopefully, we'll get to explore more about this universe and see our Omegas blossom.

This is fucking dark. And trust me, I know from dark. And I definitely know from dark Omegaverse. Ivy Chapman has created an Omegaverse world that is dark, terrifying, and twisted. Frustrating This book was NOT bad. It was just kind of unfinished, not fleshed out enough. I didn’t feel like I knew anything about the world or the alphas.. So much was missing. Confusing mess. The lack of time line is really frustrating. Arden’s mate ends up saying four or five months towards the end of the book, but before that, we have zero clue. My first read from D.E. Chapman, but not my last. If you don't like or appreciate dark, ugly reads, pass this one up. Sera and Arden are twin sister and brother and both taken captive. Dark and grim, but with a thread of hope When it says “dark omegaverse,” believe it. This was well written, graphic and violent, full of non-con, but with a hfn. I liked the way the story followed both the twins so we could see what was happening during their separation. Not sure if there will be another book. This one was left in a place that could be the end, but I would hope for another volume. There is definitely more story to tell.

My first time reading this author and it won’t be my last! Wow, what a story. This is a very dark plot and there not one for the faint of heart. Ugh. That’s what I think. MMC is useless except for one scene, it’s mostly centered on the FMC. Plenty of abuse and torture. Hint of character building. Absolutely no relationship building. None. SPOILERRRRRRRR The only upside in her entire story? She is finally saved after months of relentless torture. Also as a bonus- her forced-to-be-rapists bond with her and become mated to her. By chance. Yay her. This is a short story totally skippable.

Potential Omegaverse intrigues me. This story had more potential. The book seemed like more of an outline and could have been developed more. These type of books are normally dark, but this one was extremely heavy on the violence. This could be okay if the rest of the story and characters were more developed. I’m usually okay with reading trauma as long as there is a happy ending. Torn Apart had a weak and rushed happy ending that did not balance the trauma and violence.

Loved this book!!! I absolutely loved this book, there is so much happening to the twins that it almost feels like it’s two books. The abuse that’s suffered by the omegas and their mates is unheard of, this isn’t your usual omegaverse book, this one is dark and cruel but has a HEA too, it’s not for everyone but it was for me and I hope you enjoy it as much As I did! A definite recommend

Not worth the time. I feel like I've read more of a detailed outline for the beginning of two separate books. No depth to characters, passage of time was awkward and I was often left confused. That being said. It could have been good. It was dark and twisted, but without sinking into any of the characters, I just didn't care. No emotions at all between either group of partners. They didn't feel anything so neither did I. Not worth the time. I feel like I've read more of a detailed outline for the beginning of two separate books. Ok so I like that there is a warning for this book, because it is DEFINITELY a dark romance. That being said. . . It was totally worth going into the dark to read! The twins are stronger than either one of them realize. You follow both their stories and find out what happens to both of them. It isn't a long read, but it also doesn't skimp on story either. Torn Apart This was a short story but it didn't seem short. The way Ivy Chapman switched back and forth telling each twins story seemed to add to the length of the book. It was interesting. I would have given five stars but I paid $2.99 to read the book. It did have an HEA but the Alpha's and Omega's were damaged from the start to finish. Dark and twisted This book was dark... Pitch black darkness. A bit much for me, but at least there’s a somewhat happy ending. It seemed like most of the book was agony and suffering but the story ends right after we get a resolution. I was there for the suffering so to see some healing would have been nice. Not really something I would read again or recommend.
