Dialogue that feels raw and real, flows easily and naturally regardless of the scene. Almost a musical/poetic type flow. The action is nearly constant and I frequently found myself tense while reading. There’s also a dark sense of humor appropriately placed.” – Keith Dk, Amazon Reviewer ★★★★★ “Amazing! What a gut wrenching, page turning, sit on the edge of your seat book. I couldn't put this book down! The author does an amazing job of making the characters come to life and you feel connected to them in an emotional way. A great story and can't wait for the next book in the series.” – B.J. Aside from being too short, enjoyed listening to this installment of the occupied west coast. There was a whole lot going on in this one. The resistance members were caught slipping as the two armies converged around them. The ones trying to get out of the city and up north were constantly getting beaten down to the point it was almost hard to listen to. The crew up north, in Five Falls, however, made a big stand against the Chinese brass trying to open up their new capital just down the freeway from their little town. When a larger force is sent to suppress the town and open the supply line, the locals give 'em hell, but were lucky to have some friendlies finally pull up behind the Chicoms and walk into a nice flanking maneuver. This was like hearing hours of the main characters being beaten, blown up, shot and tossed like rag dolls; but, it certainly wasn't boring.

This continues to be a very good series. As with the other books, there is a lot of action on all fronts. I still don't quite get how the small town in Oregon has become such a pivotal target, the death of the general aside. I usually like tales of intrepid freedom fighters and find them inspiring, but found myself getting a little depressed. This group in the Resistance can take an incredible amount of pain and damage and are still unwilling to allow their country to fail. I feel a bit depresse This continues to be a very good series. I feel a bit depressed because I don't think that I live in that country, but in one where during a dangerous pandemic, people are mad because they can't go to the beach or the beauty salon. I would never ever want a war or attack etc here, but fear our citizens would not be bothered to defend the nation or their neighbors. I look forward to the next book and especially hope to see the traitor get what is coming to him. I can at least cheer for these fictional heroes.

“In the days before everything went south, it seemed the go-to response to the smallest national impropriety was to throw a tantrum, fuel the propaganda cannon, then mobilize an army and go to war. Some would say the fall of the nation began fourteen years ago, over a lost election. Others would say the rot set in long before that. No matter the origin, that formal divide—matched with the divisiveness that followed—served to corrupt every aspect of social life, eventually bringing the nation to her knees. Book 3 in this series is the best by far. Had me by the seat of my pants the entire book. Can wait to see how it all ends. 5 stars is not adequate.

First of all, Thank You for a very good story. You are able to place me right next to Logan. I am a Veteran of the Vietnam war (police action cough-cough ) but I never went overseas, I was stationed at Fort Carson my whole 3 year service span. I only hope that I could have been close to Clay in performance, but I am glad not to have all the baggage that he had to deal with. All in all it was a story that I was not able to put down for very long. Its difficult explaining to my wife that I can't d First of all, Thank You for a very good story. I like the general storyline, but not the telling of it. Why does the language of many of the main characters have to be so vulgar and filled with sexual innuendo? I understand tough main characters, but when endless physical punishment and injury doesn’t seem to affect them they start to seem like Marvel superheroes. I would prefer a bit more reality. Of lesser importance to me, but still worth noting, the number of typos and errors that appear to be autocorrect issues is growing.

I’d give it 5 stars for writing Mr. Schow is a master word crafter! It’s a pleasure to read some of the paragraphs, even out of context because they are so beautifully written. I’m just not comfortable with the degree of violence. If it were balanced with a little more humor or joy it would be great! I realize in the context of the story there wouldn’t be a lot of joy but human beings are resilient and we always find ways to cope, even in the midst of tragedy.

Ryan Is on top of the evil machinations of the deep state Exciting, violent, and prescient, Schow seems to have an uncanny understanding of the collusion of California pubic officials withe the CCP. This may be fiction but it is a very real collusion happening in the dark back rooms of our corrupt politicians right now and in the works for years. This nightmare Is very real.

Perhaps the best author of Post Apocalyptic fiction ever I have read everything that Ryan Schow has written with the exception of the Swann series, which I will get to eventually. I sped through Apostasy in a day and loved it Ryan has created a world inhabited by rich colorful characters dealing with a world they never could have in envisioned but will need to adapt to in order to survive . Bring on the next book!!

I NEVER leave reviews (but always rate) the books I finish, but I had to comment on this series. It is absolutely eerie how true to life this series is as relates to what is happening in our country at this very moment. If you want to understand how a country falls from the inside, absolutely read this series.

Battle Continues The endless fighting and battles seem to never end. But then that’s what would happen if America were invaded. This is very realistic with people we like dying and evil people who manage to survive. I like especially the growth in the characters. War charges people and so many authors ignore that fact. Ryan Schow doesn’t.

Hang on the ride is fast and rough. I gave this a five star rating because 6 was not offered. The characters continue to work together for an ending to this madness of communist rule. All working toward the same ending hopefully.

Traitors beware The survivors are capable of doing things that are amazing. The meeting of a resistance group is going to be great. Time to kick some serious ass and take back our county.
