New York is where dreams come true. Or at least that’s what I’ve been told. Despite my love of planning, my dream of working on Broadway and meeting my Hollywood superstar crush seem to be running into more brick walls than necessary. Still, I could never have anticipated my crush on Hunter Stone was just one Ambien trip from an unexpected reality. Now, I find myself lost in his charms and enamored with his passion for acting. Beyond his good looks and brooding reputation is a man who sends my heart racing and leaves me wondering if fictional boyfriends are real. *** Passion and drive have made all of my acting dreams a reality. All I’ve worked for is at my fingertips, but I can’t seem to settle. In my life or on my future. Meeting Celeste Pumper… Pumper-Something was never part of my plan. Her own passion for the stage has reminded me of a life beyond the big screen and celebrity. Holding her in my arms and staring into her eyes should frighten me but instead I feel more solace than my lifestyle normally allows. Our paths didn’t cross by happenstance. Emerald Book Reviews If you're in the market for a truly uplifting, quirky, fun and super romantic read, then look no further than Better than the Book. It would be a best seller.” Leaning forward, she places her lips to mine. “It’ll never happen.” “Why?” “Because, our real life love story is better than the book.”' This book was seamlessly written, optimistic, enchanting and filled to the brim with great dialogue and two dazzling and engaging protagonists. Right now, the world is in dire need of more stories exactly like this one. It was the perfect length, with the perfect amount of sass and romance and the most perfect hero and heroine to boot.

Better than the Book took me back to what I absolutely loved about Switch Stance and Ear Candy, in the way that the plot is extremely light-hearted and has some seriously funny, laugh out loud moments. I laughed so hard at a few different moments in Celeste and Hunter's antics and let's just say I will NEVER try ambien. True to the series, Better than the Book is a fun, light, romantic ride for those who just want to see two people truly start to fall in love, and connect in a real way. He may be the star of screen and stage but she is the star of this book. “Our real life love story is better than the book.” Book 4 in an excellent series which can be read as a standalone but you will meet characters from the other books and this will lead to spoilers for those couples. Told from Dual POV by Celeste a theatre stage manager / blogger and Hunter Stone an actor. Celeste is like the best friend you always wanted. She’s fun, quirky, kind to everyone and has a great attitude and sense of humour. I totally related to her love of lists and being organised. She is a strong independent woman who takes care of herself and proud she has survived living in NYC. Hunter absolutely loves acting and started out as a struggling actor treading the boards in NYC. He moved to LA as his fame and popularity increased when he got the role of a vampire in the TV show Prince Of Darkness. The story starts with Celeste’s attempts to attend a convention where she’d get the opportunity to meet Hunter whose career she has followed for years and is her celebrity crush. When they finally meet , they just click. She finds it odd when they become friends because he is someone she admires. He turns out to be completely different to what she expected and surprised he has dreams and aspirations she relates to. “Just two people getting to know each other and liking what they found.” She finds it a case of Hunter Stone the actor vs The real Hunter Stone. He is not at all like the persona he presents to the world but a genuine, kind, funny, easy going guy who is also reserved and shy. He plays an alpha on the TV but in reality he is a sensitive, endearing, empathetic man. “Dreams are nothing without believing I can make them come true.” The story flows well and you find out what each of them think of the other as their relationship builds nicely. Just like the rest of the series this is a light hearted and easy to read story. It has laugh out loud moments and the mishaps the couple encounter are hilarious especially when it involves Ambien. I found all the situations very realistic and could happen to anyone. Her roommate Anna has some great lines , very blunt and to the point. She and Hunter bounce well off each other and it looks like the next book could be about her. It was good catching up with the characters for the other books. Carrie and Matthew from Model Behaviour certainly give ‘fate’ and our couple a big nudge in the right direction and Sprite lives up to the saying “out of the mouths of babes” The whole book entertaining and I thoroughly recommend it. If you haven’t read the other books then I would binge them now as they are all great plus you help some wonderful charities. I just love these Charitable Endeavors books!! Not only are they quick, light, fun rom-coms but they are packed with emotion. Better Than The Book explores the life of stage manager/blogger, Celeste (Celestial Star if you’ve read the last book, Model Behavior) and actor Hunter Stone. And you’ll be helping out wonderful charities in the process!!

I love these collaborations so much. The unique storylines will make you smile, fall in love with characters, and make you lose all track of time. Some of the scenes are classic and you will have tears from laughing so hard. I loved Celeste and Hunter and know that everyone else will also. So make sure it’s on your reading list and if you haven’t read the others in series you should prepare for a binge read.

When I sit down to read a book from the Charitable Endeavors series by ME Carter and Andrea Johnston I’m usually guaranteed two things: belly laughs and heart swoons. This book had plenty of both. Celeste and Hunter were magnetic from the first moment they were on the page together. I could not have asked for a more satisfyingly sweet book. I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series. I can’t wait for the next book!!!

I always get so excited when there is another Charitable Endeavors book out by Andrea Johnston and M.E. Carter. These books are full on fun and Better Than The Book is no exception. OMG the timeline of her failures is pure gold and even after they do meet their still are some snafus before they really get together. This book is light romance in the most beautiful way. It feels like a fairy tale at times, because Celeste is still trying to make it...and Hunter is already there and is very much the handsome....wait for it.....Prince of Darkness. (Sorry..I had to do it). What I love about these two characters and their romance is that THE ACTUALLY HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON!! That's actually one thing that annoys me in so many books in this genre. Celeste is a theater nerd and Hunter has a passion for theater even though he's in a hit tv show. Yes, opposites attract, sometimes, but I love that with this book, its friendship that moves to romance. That works so much better and makes things feel more believable. The best part about this book for me is that I never got angry at it. I have been having a terrible time reading lately and this book was perfect for me. It made me laugh. I enjoyed every minute reading it, which isn't something I can say about most books I've read this year!

I loved this book! Another winner for ME Carter and Andrea Johnston! How much anticipation, and subsequent disappointment, can one girl take? It seemed like a missed connection where each party goes their own way and wishes it could have turned out differently. Each was saddened that the other didn't reach out and had given up hope of getting to know the other a little more when mutual a friend caused them to reconnect. And when they did... oh boy was it worth it! This is a sweet, spicy, funny, organic, hopeful story with reminders to not lose site of your passion in pursuit of your goals. I can't stress enough how amazing both of these authors and their books are. This is book 4 of the Charitable Endevors series and I highly recommend each and every book. Needless to say something always gets in the way! Hunter may be an actor and has made it but he longs for something different. When he meets Celeste at the convention, there doesn’t seem to be enough time to truly get to know one another. But can fate have a hand in things? Hunter is charming and can really be himself with her. Is there a real friendship blossoming? This book was so refreshing, easy to read and a real escape. I absolutely loved every word penned and feel that the way the two authors write, I have no doubt they will write more wonderful books to come. Superb!

This was fun and sweet and the best Ambien story I've heard. (I want to know if it's based in truth!) I felt for Celeste, she really has the worst luck, and by the time she FINALLY gets to meet Hunter I was rooting for her. Her reaction to meeting Hunter reminded me of how I feel every time I get to meet an author I admire. It was refreshing to read a book where the famous character didn't start off acting like a jerk. What a great addition to this series! Hunter is an actor for a very popular tv show. Celeste is a theater geek who is working as a stagehand. Better than the Book lives up to the title. It's a fun, romantic and easy read. It's a story that shows true feelings of two people falling in love. The books in this series are so adorable! No drawn out drama. Real life situations. I enjoyed the theater side of this book. Brought back memories of high school drama class. I laughed at all the mishaps in the beginning when Celeste never made it to the big convention. I’m glad she never gave up. I loved her lists, I’m a list maker. Her time during the convention was great. Glad she got all her list checked off. The time in Turks and Caicos had me looking up all inclusive packages. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Another cute feel good love story from this amazing writing duo. I loved Celeste’s fan girl quirkiness and Hunter’s down to earth personality. I always look forward to the Charitable Endeavor stories and this one was a another great add to the collection.

As a theatre nerd myself, raising my own theatre nerds, this book was a warm bowl of chicken soup for my heart & soul. I loved it so much! This sweet love story was just what I needed to melt away my pandemic blues. Absolutely recommend!

I could not put this book down. It was super cute and sweet romance! I typically do not like the celebrity romances. Usually there is cheating and paparazzi, etc. I really enjoyed reading this story. Hunter is very down to earth. We get to see him struggle with life a bit and be exhausted from it. Celeste is a quirky, fun, awkward blogger/stage manager. She has goals she keeps pushing off. Together they succeed.
