Sen Reject our society's liberal bias against conservative women and learn how traditional principles will secure a better future for us all with this inspiring guide from a political powerhouse. The Mind of a Conservative Woman challenges women to improve their place in life and open doors for themselves and the next generation through the courage of their convictions. Senator Blackburn expounds upon why beliefs labeled as "traditional" have common ground and can improve all of society, such as: Protecting the next generation, the family, and the freedom of faith and values, Supporting a free market that rewards women who apply their talents and rise to great heights, Respecting the institutions in our nation to make change from the inside, Securing an effective government that will not overreach, and Honoring and respecting those who hold differing opinions. Though it is politically liberal women who receive the attention of left-leaning media and universities, it is conservatism that guarantees what most women hold dear. Blackburn addresses the frustrations of working women and the false perceptions of women presented by the media in general. Her maxim "Leave Things in Better Shape Than You Found Them" will challenge you to improve your place in life and create opportunities you never dreamed possible for yourself and those around you.

Marsha Blackburn, Senator from Tennessee and long time politician, has never been anyone but herself. Her passion for her faith, family, principles, and state are awe-inspiring. This book really breaks down what it means to be a conservative woman. From dealing with constant criticism, threats, and public scrutiny, to the philosophical background of conservatism, quoting Kirk, Burke, Tocqueville, and even Margaret Thatcher. This is an excellent read for any young conservative who may feel lost or isolated. Finding the power to stick up for yourself and your principles in a gracious and kind way is an art that one must master, especially when operating from the defense (although Blackburn makes it a point to say she wishes we were on offense more and I couldn't agree more).

As a Christian woman, moderate conservative and not a fan of the current president, I read this book to understand the mind of a Christian woman, an extreme conservative and a huge fan of the current president. I was disappointed Blackburn begins her book with a vicious attack on Democrats in general and female Democrat congresswomen in particular. She likened them to Stepford wives, robotic and unthinking in their actions. They advocate government control from cradle to grave, she says. I was disappointed Blackburn begins her book with a vicious attack on Democrats in general and female Democrat congresswomen in particular. She likened them to Stepford wives, robotic and unthinking in their actions. They advocate government control from cradle to grave, she says. Conservative women on the other hand, are smart, study the facts, and are confident according to Blackburn. It was evident from the opening salvo that Blackburn is not interested in bridge building nor does she follow the command of Jesus to love our enemies. Her obvious disgust for anything from the Democrats' camp was disconcerting. And this, even though she admonishes others to always be kind and hospitable to people. (65.7%) The memoir part of Blackburn's book is encouraging. I wish she would have started with that and then, after engaging the reader, share her harsh opinions of Democrats. A savvy editor should have made such a content change. Her defense of conservatism is well presented and understandable. She has great encouraging suggestions for conservative women. She includes smart dialogue talking points on misunderstood conservative issues. This book will help you understand the conservative mind of a woman who sees impoverished and repressed women on an overseas trip and passionately wishes they had the same opportunities as women in the U.S. and yet at the same time is working on lowering the caps for refugees. (58.3%) It helps you understand the mind that is violently opposed to abortion and the 1,700 murdered each day yet approves of the actions of a man who has allowed nearly 200,000 die of a virus by refusing to act in a timely manner, preventing so many unnecessary deaths. It helps you understand the mind who admits man is fallen and prone to evil, who wants clean air and clean water, who defends property rights so long as they do not hurt others (38.7%) yet says we must let industries police themselves. (74.0%) This is a good book to understand the mind of a conservative woman. Those who think the right can do no wrong and the left can do no right will love it. Conservative woman looking for practical strategy to stand their ground will be encouraged. Moderates may find more fury and disgust than love and compassion. I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.

The Mind of a Conservative Woman is a political book by author Senator Marsha Blackburn. Senator Blackburn is the first woman to represent Tennessee in the U.S. Senate. “She is a solid conservative, with small-town values and a deep faith commitment” (Newt Gingrich). I learned that it is thought our Judeo-Christian heritage is to blame for the enslavement of women. The fact is our Hebrew and Christian parents laid the foundation for the ascent of women. I recommend this book to fans of political science because Senator Marsha Blackburn understands the conservative woman. Great read! Blackburn is an unapologetic conservative leader, encouraging women to stay the course through criticism, threats and unfair attacks by those on the left. She speaks to the importance of family, faith and values, and the promise of achievement for women who apply their talents and abilities- nothing is impossible. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about her upbringing in Mississippi as well as the Taylor Swift incident- Marsha stood her ground. This book gives hope to conservative women e Great read! I tried y’all. I got through 36 minutes. It was her ranting as if she were drinking straight from a champagne bottle while popping Godiva in her mouth as she gets a pedicure, likely from an immigrant she’d vote to kick out of the country. She spent the whole time ranting and using personal vignettes to illustrate an entire political party and people. I’m moving on to someone more intelligent to help me get into the mind of a conservative woman, maybe Peggy Noonan.

One entertaining section was her response to singer Taylor Swift, who went off on Blackburn on a movie documentary that was being filmed covering Swift's life. The writer explains her stance with respect and detail. This book, like the title says, is more for the female reader, and male readers may be bored with the overall theme. However the female conservative will enjoy the text. For an in depth review, visit my page at : https://lancewrites.wordpress.com/202...

I enjoyed this book for a number of reasons. One is I do tend to think on the more conservative side anyway and it was nice to read something where I felt like I could connect with someone on this level. I would say I tend to be in the minority in my circle when it comes to thinking this way so it was nice to read Marsha Blackburn’s thoughts and see I am not alone. Another reason I enjoyed this book is because I like her challenges to women to learn what it means to stand out in our culture but I enjoyed this book for a number of reasons. I also like the book list at the end because I am always open to reading book recommendations from other people.

Senator Blackburn’s book is part memoir, part self-help, part-conservative women’s empowerment screed. It’s crafted generally well and is more positive and uplifting than most political books I’ve read in recent years. I appreciate her laying out the origins of modern political conservative thoughts and offered tips and reading materials for conservative women. Even a non-conservative woman would benefit from learning about American conservatism.
