Well, I'll be shouting about this one on the rooftops for a while, because not only is it the best book in her 'Lost Boys' series, it's easily the best book I've read so far in 2021. This book made me feel, made me cry so hard, but also had so many heartwarming moments. This series is the epitome of the found family troupe and I love this group of characters so much. Ronan Wentz shows up in Santa Cruz as an eighteen year old senior in high school who's aged out of the foster care system after ten years in. He's staying with his uncle (sort of) by helping him manage an apartment building. Ronan hasn't had a family since he lost his mother as a child. But he meets two boys, just as lost as him in different ways who become brothers to him, Miller and Holden. Then, he meets her. Shiloh Berrera. On the surface, Shiloh has it much more together than Ronan, and in some ways she does. In other ways, she's just as lost as him. One thing Shiloh does have is an incredible Bibi (her great grandmother) who's raised her since she was four. Words can't express how much I loved Bibi and how she was with not only Shiloh, but also Ronan. Shiloh and Ronan become friends when put together, and they're attracted to one another, but it seems impossible to be together. Still, they can't fight what they're feeling. "So how about no labels? No rules. We'll just do our best and maybe land somewhere..." All that Ronan wants is to keep Shiloh safe and to have her. He's not sure if he can have both. And keeping her safe is always his top priority. I admired him for that. He's the kind of guy who never puts himself first and would do anything for those he loves. He's got the biggest and softest heart even though he has a rough exterior, his heart always shines through. Shiloh can be standoffish at times and she's very goal driven, but it's only because she wants to be her best and feels like she has something to prove. She's also just as loyal as Ronan and both of them haven't had easy lives. There were some big things I could relate to Shiloh about and because of that, her story really touched me. Ronan though, his past wrecked me. This one had me sobbing at one point. I just felt so much so hard, but it was all necessary. None of the main characters in this book (or this series) has a traditional family, but they make their own family. They become each others family. And sometimes, the family you choose is so much greater than the family you're born into. This series sheds such a light on that and I love it so much. The Last Piece of His Heart completely broke me, but it also put me back together. Emma's writing is phenomenal and this story was truly epic. This is an unforgettable story and one of Scott's very best. I can't recommend it enough. That's what you did with good and precious things. You held them tight and took care of them. I could do that. I could keep her safe and have her too.

Four and a half stars for my dearest Ronan and Shiloh, and a half star for Miller, Holden, and Ronan's unbreakable bond of friendship. Note: This is a new adult romance. The Last Piece of His Heart was such a perfect way to end this series. It was heartfelt, beautifully written, and was everything in a story about love, friendship, acceptance, and second chances. Ronan was perfect in every way. He had a past that troubled him and burdens that he carried each and every time he woke up. But it didn't stop him to care, to protect the one's who needed him the most, and to love Shiloh. He would do anything for her. He would bear anything with no hesitation. Ronan was selfless. And deeply and irrevocably in love with Shiloh. "I’d die for Miller Stratton. For Holden Parish. For Shiloh…" Shiloh was the mirror of beauty, inside and out. She's strong and independent. I adored the love she had for her grandmother and for never giving up on her mother. Shiloh wasn't the kind of woman to give up easily, and I admired her for that. Ronan and Shiloh were perfectly matched. Cupid made a good job, no, I mean Emma Scott. The connection between them was perfection. I loved how they slowly opened up to each other. I could wish for nothing more than to watch them finally confess their feelings to one another. "Kissing her was a stolen minute—something good and fucking perfect but not mine to keep." Emma Scott continues to impress me through the years. Her stories inspires me in so many different ways. She's a master storyteller, and I wholeheartedly believe that it won't change in the future. Overall, I loved the book. The ending was chef's kiss. I couldn't ask for more. So, if you're looking for something that you will love, and will love more, and will love the most. Then this series was written just for you. I recommend this to everyone who breathes! “You have the last piece of his heart, Shiloh ... And it’s up to you what you do with it.”

“It’s funny, though. We’re kind of doing it all backward. We’ve talked about heavy shit, we do all the kissing things, but we skipped the basics.” “Basics?” “The easy stuff. For instance, what kind of music do you like?” I shrugged. “Not much. Older bands. Tool. Soundgarden is pretty good, I guess. You?” “All kinds. Listen.” Shiloh gave me one of her earbuds and put the other in her ear. A second later, I was listening to Indian EDM music in a Thai restaurant. Shiloh, even in her seat, danced to the electronic beats and the lyrics that were more rapped than sung. “You know what he’s saying?” “No clue,” she said, her smile radiant. “But it’s not about that. It’s about how it makes you feel.” I liked the music okay, but it was Shiloh who made me feel fucking everything. I watched her move, closing her eyes, getting lost right there at the table. She grinned. “Good, right?” Fucking incredible. “You like dancing?” I blurted like a jackass. “I mean…I see you at Central a lot, listening to music, but you didn’t go to Homecoming.” She shot me a wry smile. “I was out getting barbecue with you, if you recall.” As if I could forget. “I love dancing,” she continued. “I just don’t like school dances. The social scene in general doesn’t interest me. Not like I’m above it but more like I’m running parallel on a totally different vibe, trying to get through it. Like I want my childhood to be over with.” “Why?” “Maybe because I feel like, if I’m an adult with my own business, then what my mother thinks of me becomes irrelevant. I won’t be a kid anymore, needing her.” She waved a hand. “I know it doesn’t work that way, but it’s just something I do. To cope.” I nodded. Shiloh rested her chin in her hand, watching me. “We’re not doing a very good job of sticking to the basics. Quick, ask me something easy.” “Uh…what’s your favorite movie?” “Good one. I should say something deep and profound to impress you like The Color Purple or Citizen Kane, but I love Coming to America.” She chuckled. “Just thinking about it makes me happy. Yours?” “Citizen Kane.” Shiloh burst out laughing and chucked her napkin at me. “But for real.” “I don’t know… My mom and I used to watch The Wizard of Oz, so I’ll say that.” “I love that,” Shiloh said softly. And so did I—being able to talk about my mother’s life instead of how she died. “My turn,” Shiloh said. “What’s your favorite color?” “Seriously?” She arched a brow at me. “Black. Yours?” “Yellow.” Shiloh smiled, and she was positively fucking luminous. “Look at us. We are slaying the basics. Okay, one more. If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?” “Nowhere.” Shiloh frowned. “Oh, come on, don’t quit on me now. We were doing so well…” “There is nowhere else I’d rather be than here with you.” The Last Piece of His Heart (Lost Boys #3) is LIVE now and FREE on Kindle Unlimited! mybook.to/TheLastPieceofHisHeart Add to your Goodreads TBR: http://bit.ly/2QeVlfa Vote for The Last Piece of His Heart on March 2021 Most Anticipated Romance Releases List: http://bit.ly/3oPF91I

Stand guard over his dreams so nothing could hurt him. ▸the woman who had the last piece of his broken, hurt heart. ▸the woman who didn't sleep a wink overnight standing on guard against ronan's nightmares. ▸the woman who was the lighthouse keeper to her ronan whenever he went adrift. for emma- will it make sense that even after knowing her and her works for little more than a year, i am so obsessed with her that im gonna fight for her like im paid for. i mean there's only so much stalking a person can take on goodreads, facebook, website, twitter and fan pages before i get a restraining order. ronan-I caught our reflection in the glass of the shop she wanted. Since I read The Girl in the Love Song, I couldn't wait to get my hands on Ronan and Shiloh's story and they didn't disappoint. The Lost Boys series ended with a bang and I would even say that it's one of Emma Scott's best books. The Last Piece of His Heart is the third book in a the Lost Boys series. It can be read as a standalone, however, it would be best to read it in order since it spoils a couple of plot points for the previous books since all three books have overlapping timelines. If you haven't read Miller/Violet or Holden/River's books, you'll see some of their stories unfolding. Usually I don't like it when series have an overlapping timeline, because then the rest of the books get too predictable, because we know whats coming. It's not too bad here. While all books have a handful of events that overlap, there is still plenty of new material that will keep you on your toes. What I love about Emma's books is that she takes me through a rollercoaster of emotions while reading. I'm sad, I'm angry, I'm happy, I was screaming, I was laughing, I was tearing up.. I did all that, especially in the last half of the book, but what I can always count on is that as much as the characters go through the wringer, by the time I reach the end of the book my heart is going to be so full. "It's difficult–impossible even–to love another with your whole heart if you can't find any of that love for yourself." ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──── characters ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──── ➻ Ronan Wentz You'll love Ronan if you like the quiet protecting heroes. Ronan is a man of few words, but his actions they are the loudest. Ronan is big and looks kinda dangerous with all his tattoos, but underneath there is so much more. In a lot of ways Ronan reminded me of Theo from the Full Tilt Duet. So if you liked Theo, chances are high that you would like Ronan too. Ronan past made him the man he is today. I can't say what happened to him, because that would be too spoilery, but everything he has done and why he does it, is because of what he has seen in his childhood and it's quite heartbreaking. Ronan is the perfect example how your past does in fact shape an important part of your personality, but it does not define all of you. Ronan could have easily turn out waaaay different, but he made an effort not to. ➻ Shiloh Barrera Shiloh is Violet's best friend (h of the first book) and living with her great grandmother Bibi since she was a child. Shiloh is dealing with her own issues, therefore she's not open to get close to anyone. But Shiloh knows exactly what she wants to do in life and that is to open her own jewellery shop after graduating. I admire her drive and determination to get to her goal no matter what and her passion about making her art. Bibi and Shiloh have such an amazing relationship! One of my favorite thing about this book!! Is it possible to make clones of Bibi and put them on Amazon for sale cause I'm telling y'all that would sell well. Bibi was so supportive and welcomed Ronan with open arms upon meeting him. I love her and she was a great side character. ➻ the romance She is beauty. I'm everything ugly. It's the small moments between Ronan and Shiloh that made their romance so perfect to me. They are both not the greatest talker, especially not about their feelings, but it's the little things that Shiloh does for Ronan or Ronan does for Shiloh that made feeling 🥺🥺🥺. It took a while until these two got together, because neither of them really wanted a relationship because... issues. The good thing is that it's not frustrating to watch their relationship unfolding, cause there is no OW/OM drama.. neither Ronan nor Shiloh are playing games and trying to make someone jealous. It's pretty straighforward until one day when they can't deny their attraction any longer. ⋅───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── the bromances a.k.a the lost boys ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── I'm so happy that Emma wrote about a group of boys that for once, isn't the kings of kings of high school and life. The popular jocks or the rich bullies. Instead she choose to write about the outcasts and I'm so grateful for that, cause I was getting tired reading about these high school guys who think they are larger than god and rule the school with an iron fis. There is just something about refreshing to read about the weirdos and lost souls, because aren't we all a little bit lost? Ronan, Holden and Miller are so different from each other and from the look and personality, they couldn't be more different. But when they meet, there is something so right about it. Their friendship is one of my favorite things about this series. I love how Ronan, Miller and Holden understand each other on a deeper level without having to say much. ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── the epilogue ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── the epilogue gets a special shoutout because I loved it so much. Even though it wasn't what I expected, it was perfect nontheless, bc it was so fitting for these characters. There was one thing that happened that really surprised me, because I would never. In hindsight, it was just another layer to these characters that showed their true colors in a good way. It's always bittersweet when a series you like is ending. I'm a little sad, because I have to say goodbye to my precious boys and their soulmates, but more than that I'm just happy that they all finally got their happy ending they more than deserved. ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── why not 5 stars ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── My honest answer is that it's me and not the book. I don't really have major issues with it, Emma's writing was flawless. As I said in the beginning, I really believe this book is one of Emma's best work so far and everyone should read it. It's just that when I finish a book I just know when it is a 5 star read or not, as I'm super stingy with my 5 star ratings. It's a feeling and nothing logical that can be explained. ════ ⋆★⋆ ════ THE LOST BOYS SERIES #1 The Girl in the Love Song – 4 stars #2 When You Come Back To Me – 4 stars #3 The Last Piece of His Heart – 4.25 stars

Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.' It all started with 'Miller, the homeless boy with the captivating voice who fell head over heels for his best friend' Violet' then carried on with 'Holden' the broken iceman who finally found someone who accepted him in 'River' last but not least this is Ronan's story, the boy with a checkered past but has goodness running through his veins & 'Shiloh' the girl who is just as misplaced as himself. This was one I was highly anticipating, I steered clear of signing up for too many arcs because this was the one that I was wanting above all else. I don't know how she does it, this author is a powerhouse when it comes to giving us readers exactly what we craved without us even going down on bended knee, yet again she gave me a slow burn five star read, yet again she pulled me in and held me captive until I closed out of that last page. A bittersweet sensation as it's a series I never wanted to end. Emma Scott is unstoppable, the storyline is beyond unique, the characters are likeable and relatable, this book was so captivating and so beautifully written. I devoured this like there was no tomorrow. This can be read as a stand-alone but I personally suggest and recommend that you read these books in order. Ronan's back story will break your heart, it's raw, and gut-wrenching, he strives not to be like his father, being raised in the system at a young age after witnessing his father murder his mother, moved from foster home to foster home life hasn't been easy on him. Until an uncle comes forward and settles him in his run down apartment complex in Santa Cruz. This is the break he's needed to fill full the promise to his mother to finish his education and this might just be the break he's been waiting for. Shiloh lives with her elderly great-grandma Bibi and creates one off jewellery designs in a little nook out the back of her Grandma's property which Ronan built by answering an ad in the local paper. She dreams of opening her own shop one day. She may come across like she has everything one could ever want but she's just as misplaced in the world as much as Ronan.

It can be read as a stand-alone but for us who’ve read the two previous books this is nothing more than an extraordinary accomplishment. The little tidbits I was given throughout book 1 and 2 only confirmed what I already knew. The Last Piece of His Heart was going to be angsty, emotional and a cathartic experience. I wasn’t disappointed. Not on bit. More like blown away. The foundation was already laid in The Girl in the Love Song and When You Come Back to Me and here in the final installment the characters come full circle. Ronan and Shiloh. The last lost boy and his girl rendered me speechless with their journey. Starting out so lost and alone. Found solace in one another. Slowly trusting and opening up. It was explored meticulously with so much heart and vulnerability. I was invested in them. Wholeheartedly thanks to the flawless writing. I couldn’t put the book down. The pace of the story flowed. I had no idea the depth of Ronan and Shiloh and Emma Scott stripped those layers away. Layer by layer. Effortlessly. I didn’t think it was possible to top When You Come Back to Me but Emma Scott made me fall completely in love with Ronan and Shiloh. Beautifully flawed and complemented each other perfectly. Emma Scott is an expert in side characters and again she excels with Bibi who from the first introduction immediately won me over. Shiloh’s Great grandmother. Full of experience, knowledge and wisdom. Despite her lack of sight she SEES everything! Knows so much more than she lets on. The perfect support for Shiloh and also Ronan. Not only Shiloh and Ronan but also the remaining two lost boys and their significant other had to go through a lot. They did and they came out stronger. Their journey and story was a healing experience to read. Those epilogues. I just can’t! Tears. It’s not goodbye cause these three Lost Boys and their significant other have embedded themselves in my heart. What a way to end this series. Chef’s Kiss! 5+ Yours Forever Stars ARC COPY

Emma Scott’s writing is effortless so it makes things easier in the sensitivity department, but she is also super easy and cool to talk to about all the things that could be sensitive areas. I felt that I was able to express things my heart was feeling concerning the gorgeous, spectacular Shiloh, and her family. “Ronan was on another level of masculine virility.” This man..this troubled, intense man with dark corners in his heart, owns mine right now. His back ground story is so incredibly heartbreaking and Emma does a superb job at peeling back his tortured layers on the pages. One thing that is certain is his “hit by a mac truck” love for Shiloh. I could feel his love for her in my bones, and it’s intensity..it was bone marrow deep. He loved everything that made her who she was, especially her being a black woman. He treated her like the queen that she deserved to be treated as. I can never thank Emma enough for writing a heroine that I can see myself in. The description of her gorgeous brown skin was spot on perfection, right down to her brown nipples. Yes folks, brown nipples are very important in romance. If you’ve read books 1& 2 then you know somewhat where Emma is headed in some things, but nothing can prepare you for the greatness of this love story. Is it angsty? Yes. Is there drama? Of course. Ronan is tortured and troubled and handles things accordingly..but what I love THE MOST is that none of these things come into play in this being an interracial romance. This part of the book is solid right and perfect. Emma, you are truly phenomenal and I cherish our conversations concerning these precious characters. I will never forget it.

Ronan and Shiloh’s story was devastating, often heart wrenching but mostly beautiful. How can I describe Ronan and Shiloh? Beautifully damaged.... Reminiscent of Sea Glass. Sea glass is broken discarded pieces of glass that are found on the shores. The shards have been tumbled in the ocean for years until all of their edges are rounded off. They become shimmering, smooth little gems. Ignored by most but cherished by others! “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” Ronan Wentz, the quiet and dangerous boy from the wrong side of the tracks, whose actions were pure and just. Everything he did was from his heart. He just needed to be seen for who he was and not where he came from. Shiloh Barrera, the beautiful vibrant girl, who had goals and dreams, but needed to learn her self worth. Both carry the sins of their parents and their past. Ronan and Shiloh were two jagged and broken pieces of a puzzle that somehow fit together. Their attraction was immediate. Their connection real. An impossible relationship, but one that couldn't be denied. Ronan and Shiloh had to fight for everything they had... including their love and definitely for themselves! Could their remarkable love withstand anything??? If you know Emma then you have your answer. The Lost Boys Series will stay with me FOREVER! Miller, Holden and Ronan have a special place in my heart. I love them so very much ❤

I cried, laughed and swooned so much, I don't know what to do with myself now that I'm done with the series. "The Last Piece of His Heart" by Emma Scott is the final book in the Lost Boys series and covers Shiloh & Ronan's emotional story. I'm yet again left feeling like I just can't do a book justice with whatever review I write. TLPOHH is so far my most favorite book of 2021, I'm so glad that in a world full of L.J. Shens authors like Emma Scott exist, ones that truly love their characters and strive to create stories that would stick with you and own your heart. The plot & writing As per usual with Scott's books TLPOHH sucks you right into the story, the writing has you turning page after page without realizing it's now 3 am and you won't be getting any sleep. .no regrets. none. Everything was unfolding at a perfect pace, the book was a such a good combination of steamy, emotional and thrilling. The epilogue is by far my most favorite ever (the amount of gushing in detail I would be doing if I didn't want to spoil it for you...), I loved every single aspect of it and how it wasn't your generic rush to wrap up things ASAP. The Characters: The Lost Boys friendgroup is Perfect. Perfecto. Perfekt. Parfait. Perfetto. All. the. damn. perfects. Shiloh & Ronan were just beautiful together, I loved how they completed each other & wanted the other to become the best version they could be, to love themselves and make their dreams reality. These two had such intense chemistry and cute banter. **** Shiloh's grandmother Bibi is such an icon and amazing human. Time & time again I found myself getting all teary at how supportive and caring she was. Her presence in the scenes brought an immediate smile to my face. **** (view spoiler)[ Bibi’s shoulder shook a little as she chuckled. “What’s so funny?” “Not funny so much as joyful, honey. I was remembering something you said in the fall about Miller and Violet. That it was so obvious they belonged together that not being together didn’t make sense. And I said I was going to remember that and hold it against you.” “So, this is me, very gently holding that against you. I’m so happy for you.” (hide spoiler)] I'm so happy I saw more of my boys River & Holden towards the end. Again, that Epilogue was so well-written, your hearts are probably not prepared for it! Going in I definitely had a few things I hoped to see in it & Emma Scott absolutely delivered. "The Last Piece of His Heart" is a book that would take you out of a book funk and keep you invested until the very end. The story is such an amazing wrap up to the wonderful journey that the Lost Boys series was. If you're looking for a well-written book series with great characters (main and secondary), it goes without saying LB is a must read. My reviews of: The Girl in the Love Song (LB book 1) When You Come Back to Me (LB book 2)

To say I devoured The Last Piece of His Heart would be a complete understatement. I had the privilege of beta reading for Emma Scott and with every chapter sent, every refresh of my kindle for more pages, I fell more and more hopelessly in love with Ronan and Shiloh. I had the privilege of beta reading for Emma Scott and with every chapter sent, every refresh of my kindle for more pages, I fell more and more hopelessly in love with Ronan and Shiloh. We were given just enough information on Ronan and Shiloh in the first two Lost Boys books, that I knew these two would tear my heart out. Ronan and his valiant, survivors spirit; the protector of those he loved greater than himself. He was the very definition of selfless. Witness to such heinous acts as a child, he constructed a fortress around his heart rarely, if ever letting anyone in. Only being able to see what his past might make him instead of embracing what those who truly knew him saw. A kindness so pure and a love so deep for the ones he protects with all his might. Ronan felt like the rock the Lost Boys built themselves on. With his protection they all became more of themselves. This allowed Ronan to open up, little by little, with Miller and Holden, to slowly trust them, it chipped pieces of the wall away he used to stay disconnected. Through those cracks I feel Shiloh was able to slip past his defenses and bring Ronan to life. Shiloh very much had her own roadblocks around her heart and with good reason. However, she was blessed with Bibi and that woman’s love was boundless. What a character! Shiloh was taught the importance of family and the value of trust through Bibi and over time she was able to share that with Ronan. The story that unfolds between these two is completely breathtaking. The Last Piece His Heart is one of Emma Scott’s finest. She never ceases to amaze me with her ability to write such beautiful characters and that’s never truer in her Lost Boys series. Start from the beginning with the magic of The Girl in the Love Song, embrace the beauty of When You Come Back to Me and just know you’ll be moved beyond measure and richer in heart for having known the Lost Boys.

Once, a long time ago he couldn't help and the nightmares still won't leave him. Shiloh is a pretty happy girl - on the outside. She lives with her great-grandma Bibi and is busy starting her own jewelry store. If she could, she would be in her workshop 24/7 - but there's still a year of school left. On the inside Shiloh is just as sad and broken as Ronan. Just a bit different. Can those two lost souls find their happily ever after with each other? What will happen with Shiloh + Ronan? Will there be a Happily Ever After? BUY THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺ ═════════════════ Ugh! What do you expect when you start reading an Emma Scott romance? ALL THE FEELS! Obviously. 😂 And we got that. I already adored the first books and I couldn't wait to get my hands on these two darlings! And I loved them. Not only them of course - Miller and Holden too! The three stories basically happen at the same time, so they're in here a lot too. But back to Shiloh and Ronan. They both kind of have way too much on their minds about what happened in the past and what will happen in the future. They think they're not the right person for a real relationship. But of course we can't stay away from each other either. ☺ It's really adorable. But also so very sad. Both have those silly ideas that whatever their parents did or are ... is exactly what they are and will do. They were a bit too much for me with their constant bad thoughts. Why did nobody ever sent those two to a therapist? They could've used that. One thing that bothered me...(view spoiler)[.. towards the end - when the big secret is revealed. I was so disappointed. I was expecting somehthing super creative and amazing, but it was just the usual horrible thing that you knew it would be the first second you heard about the mom. Really disappointing. (hide spoiler)] Another thing I didn't love in this book: The sexy times. I love a good sexy time in my books 🔥 but ... There's just too much! How much oral does a book need? Not this much! The book could've been a hundred pages shorter with a bit of sexy times cut and a few self-hate pages cut. The book is just a tiny bit too long. But I'm weird - so what do I know. Other readers will LOVE everything about this story! 😍 BUT - don't think I hated the story. I loved reading this. I LOVED Ronan and Shiloh and Bibi. And of course Miller and Holden. Ugh. I so need to see this whole world on Netflix one day soon! Such a beautiful series! THE LAST PIECE OF HIS HEART was such a beautiful and heartbreaking Young-Adult-New-Adult-Love-Story-Drama! Please run to your nearest amazon for your own Ronan, because this one is MINE! 💜 💜

Ronan is such a protective loyal sweet big boy who I wanted to protect so bad! And Shiloh was that ambitious goal driven strong girl. And I loved Bibi, her grandmother! I mean yes I have a thing for grandmothers, but Bibi was seriously amazing. I loved how she was always there not only for Shiloh, but for Ronan as well. What makes this series special tho, aside from Emma Scott’s amazing writing of course, is the group of friends. I just really love them all and I loved to see them get their happy endings.

The power of the human spirit! This story, this lost boy, Ronan August Wentz. He is everything that is good. Life has been unkind to him, and yet, he is a survivor. But their story is complete. Emma wrote one of the most stunning epilogues I have ever read. Simply stunning. So thank you, Emma, for allowing me to be a part of this amazing journey. Miller, Holden and my precious boy, Ronan… will forever live in my heart.

The last installment of the Lost Boys series is not one to be missed. I have adored Miller as well as Holden and River. However, Ronan Wentz is in his own league. From the previous stories, it was obvious that he carries a dark and heavy burden on his shoulders. Yet Ronan is not willing to share the load because he thinks it's his to bear alone while he has no problem taking on the oppressing weight for others. Ronan is not a very forthcoming person, he internalizes a lot of his thoughts and history so he's still a mystery even to his closest friends. He thinks he is not cut out for the kind of life where he could be normal enough to deserve the simple things like a family dinner or small favor based on his past and his perceived failure for something he was not responsible for. He is resolved to be by himself because bringing people into his circle would invite serious trouble to their doorstep. Still, there is no denying that Ronan has more compassion in his pinky than most people have in their hearts. The legal justice system has let him down before so Ronan will usually take matters into his own hands in doling out his own brand of vigilante score settling. Shiloh Barrera is no stranger to loneliness herself. As long as she doesn't let people in, they can't leave her. Feeling like she failed the most important relationship of all since childhood, Shiloh busies herself with her entrepreneurial spirit in hopes of getting her own business up and running someday. She is diligent, hardworking and very talented at her craft, wanting to prove to herself and others that she can be independent and successful all on her own merit. Shiloh's biggest fan is her great grandmother, Bibi, who is simply put, incredible. If everyone had a Bibi in their life, there would be no lack of love or affection nor doubt about themselves. While Shiloh and Ronan feel as though they have nothing to offer each other, especially for the long term, they can certainly help to provide basic companionship for the time being. Here are two people who are doing everything they can to not be together but still continue to be drawn back like magnets. If only they knew it was called undeniable chemistry and a true connection. I loved the angst and relationship build-up and the constant push and pull. They have their reasons why they can't be truly together holding them both back, yet they are also each other's number one supporter and confidant. The timeline is parallel to The Girl in the Love Song and When You Come Back to Me so it's fun and fascinating to see the other characters through their eyes and while also knowing what's happening from the other books. What resonates the deepest for me is the feeling of failure and the hardships these two have endured by no fault of their own. And then they are faced with more egregious obstacles that threaten to topple them over completely, but they refuse to let the other down and to give up, becoming the foundation for perseverance and sacrifice. Maybe they didn't have things go their way or the easy route, but they wound up being solid pillars of strength and inspiration through it all. I don't think my heart could have expanded any further for how much I loved these two and what they went through until I read epilogue part 3. Anyone who has enjoyed the other books will surely feel the same way about this one, too. Emma Scott is unafraid of tackling difficult topics or damaged characters and crafting them into relatable people we want and respect as our own friends and role models as they overcome challenges with the kind of grace and benevolence that we need to see more of in humankind.

Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. Reading the final book in a series is always bittersweet. It’s the final chapter. The last hurrah. The goodbye. The bitter end. And with that ending comes great expectation. Emma Scott delivered. Then she did extra, an unexpected chapter and I wept. I didn’t want to say goodbye. I thought Ronan and Shiloh’s book would be so straight forward. The big tattooed, gentle giant and Violet’s best friend Shiloh. They had already sat around the fire pit on the beach. I saw them there. I thought I was in for an easy ride. How wrong could I be? Ronan is a boy who has been through so much hurt in his life. My heart hurt for this lost boy. He thinks he might be broken, that he inherited evil from an evil father but this boy, this lost boy, he has a pure heart. Shiloh doesn’t know why her mum is the way she is but she knows that she wants to be a successful woman. She’s talented, she’s fierce, she’s amazing. My poor little heart. It was beating out of my chest waiting for the bomb to drop whilst pining for a Shiloh original piece of jewellery. Where can I buy one? Everyone needs a Bibi in their lives and everyone needs a Ronan. “A woman’s heart is not a single room with her feelings and choices stark on white walls, like an exhibit. It’s a deep catacomb we spend our entire life mapping.” “I’d never seen anything as beautiful as that girl in that moment, drenched in twilight, her future in her eyes.” “They’d called us the outcasts, the vampire, and the criminal. The Lost Boys. But we were bonded by something stronger than blood or friendship or circumstance. We were soul mates.” I’m floored again by the amazing talent of Emma Scott to bring characters to life. My beautiful lost boys, I found you and I’m keeping you in my heart forever.

Ronan and Shiloh’s love story is hauntingly beautiful. Simply put, this book was phenomenal. Ronan and Shiloh...these characters just found their way into my heart and make it their home and I really don't want to let them go. I had an instant connection with them. With Emma Scott’s powerful writing, words and lines hit me deep. Ronan and Shiloh’s journey was one of extraordinary love that struck me right into my heart. They both stole my heart and owned it completely. They moved me. They made me feel, because it was narrated with depth and substance. It was told poingnantly and passionately. Together the two were an unstoppable force, they were brutally beautiful, heart-wrenchingly honest, and I could not have loved them more fiercely. I absolutely devoured this story and drank in all the beautiful words that Emma Scott perfected so exquisitely. This heartbreaking and powerful journey showcased to me the importance of persevering even when faced with the worst kind of adversity. Life is sometimes cruel and unfair, but the strength and tenacity that Ronan and Shiloh portrayed is nothing short of inspiring. The Last Piece Of His Heart is another beautiful, poignant and powerful masterpiece from a writer who always manages to grip hold of my heart, never letting it go. These Lost Boys killed me with their individual stories even as they filled my heart to bursting. The Lost Boys are back, and if you haven’t read the two previous books in this series, don’t fret! The Last Piece of His Heart can be read and enjoyed as a standalone. Hooked from the first page, my connection with Ronan and Shiloh ran so deep that I didn’t want their tale to end. High on every imaginable emotion, certain situations devastated me to such a point that I had trouble holding back my tears. The occasional sniffle wasn’t in it. I needed a man-sized handkerchief! High on every imaginable emotion, certain situations devastated me to such a point that I had trouble holding back my tears. The occasional sniffle wasn’t in it. I needed a man-sized handkerchief! Shiloh is special. I often wondered if this young lass would be able to conquer her complicated past. But her talent, determination and attitude towards life help her cope with just about anything. Of course, there was always the support of a dearly loved family member who I adored to bits. Shiloh’s reason for being. Just plain wow! However, what was thrown her way knocked the wind out of me. Ooh, my! If only I could have reached out to Ronan. His layers weren’t as difficult to peel back as I thought they would be since Scott unfolds his childhood at a perfect if not moving pace. Nevertheless, what he’d been through and how he gets by every single minute of the day isn’t easy reading. Although he’s been protecting his heart and has only opened up to those few he cherishes, I picked up on his relationship stance in an instant. Different reasons to Shiloh’s, never did I expect them to fall into the now the way they did. Whether or not it works out remains to be seen. Like to find out? I highly recommend diving into their angst-ridden story, and if you aren’t familiar with the Lost Boys, the entire series is readworthy. Friends play an important part in Ronan and Shiloh’s story. The author subtlety nudged the likes of me with the appearances of Miller, Holden and company. Not that I would ever forget them, but this detail will put new readers in the picture. Scott’s book is the real deal. She’s addressed complex cultural issues with the utmost sensitivity, making her characters rootable. The baddies I wanted to give a good talking to and the heroes I wanted to embrace. Scott shattered my heart only to piece the shards together in the most beautiful way possible. Bravo!

This was the perfect conclusion to the Lost Boys series and I’m so glad Ms. Scott saved Ronan’s story for last. Ronan lived a difficult life before coming to Santa Cruz, and it gets worse before it gets better. Ronan’s the bad boy with nothing to lose and everything to gain. In an effort to overcome the sins of his father, he makes it his mission to protect those he cares about—no matter the cost. Finding love isn’t even a blimp on his radar, so when beautiful, magnetic, secretly broken Shiloh comes into his life, he’s not only battling his demons, he’s battling his feelings for her. Fortunately (or not so fortunately) Shiloh’s preoccupied with demons of her own, so a casual relationship fits the bill for both of them. But casual only works if you don’t catch feelings, and it’s impossible not to fall for these two. How can they keep from falling for each other? Cue the angst. As with the previous books in this series, friendship is an ever-present theme, and the scenes with Miller, Holden, and Ronan are still my favorites. The outcast, the vampire, and the criminal. The three could not be more different, but they complete each other in such a way, I’m convinced they were fated to meet. It’s an emotional read from start to finish, but by the time you reach the epilogue (good luck getting through that unscathed), you’ll find your heart breaking for a different reason: It’s time to let them go. Prepare thyself. Stock up on tissues, chocolate, and perhaps a flask of Holden’s vodka. You’re going to need it.

The Lost Boys saved one another and formed a family, a bond, a home of their own. Miller Stratton, Holden Parish and Ronan Wentz were made better by holding on to one another. “That’s what you did with good and precious things. You held them tight and took care of them.” Emma Scott writes stories that envelop your heart and stay there forever. Her characters become imbedded in our minds, like memories of lost loved ones. I will always hold these lost boys in my mind and heart. They are special, their stories are important, and the words of this author always deliver with beauty, grace and compassion even when the subject matter is sensitive. You can always trust Emma Scott, her passion for telling the story with care and respect is always evident and always achieved in her books. She has gifted us with another phenomenal story. “That’s who we all are—reflections in the eyes of those who love us.”

Emma Scott has a special way of creating book worlds that are a pure delight to experience. ‘The Last Piece of his Heart,’ is the third story within the LOST BOYS series of interconnected standalone books. All three standalones are pure romantic decadence but this final one is the Pièce de résistance – the most gorgeous of all and my ultimate favourite ‘Lost Boy' story. (I know I shouldn't have favs but I just ADORE RONAN!) Romantic, and gorgeously gritty with the perfect level of angst. (I know I shouldn't have favs but I just ADORE RONAN!) Romantic, and gorgeously gritty with the perfect level of angst. Ronan is the Lost Boy at the heart of ‘The Last Piece of his Heart,’ and ‘lost boy’ is the perfect way to describe him. I love all the characters but Ronan, in particular, has that little bit extra swoon factor that strongly appeals to me. He has, to all intense and purpose, had to navigate his own way in the world after the horrific and tragic events of his childhood. He has learnt to be fiercely strong which is matched by his fierce loyalty and love for those whom who learns to trust. This leads me onto his friendship with the other lost boys who play crucial roles within the entire series. The way their friendship and solidarity is portrayed is gorgeous and really warmed my heart, their history together and development through the tapestry of the series is a powerful aspect and a compelling highlight layered into the three standalone novels. Readers may already be familiar with our girl Shiloh and know that she is a beautiful and perfect match in terms of a love interest for Ronan – formidable, strong willed, knows her own mind and is not afraid to show it. As the story layers are peeled away, we are treated to the finer aspects of her character and grow to understand the issues of her childhood and the way this impacts her relationships. Emma Scott has an effortless writing style that is simply joyful to read. She crafts her tales with care, thought and attention with regard to the detail of a character’s motivation and needs ensuring her book worlds are character driven and we, the reader, experience all the range of emotions that make for a remarkable romantic read. ‘The Last Piece of his Heart,’ ticks all the afore mentioned Emma Scott writing attributes and more. The organic development of the plot, and the way it unravels teamed with the concluding chapters are not what I had expected but in the absolute best 'reading experience' way. I was completely invested. The best romances are never straightforward in their trajectory. My heart hurt and healed again in the utmost beautifully crafted way with romantic perfection. I believe, ‘The Last Piece of his Heart,’ is penned as the final LOST BOY standalone but I sincerely hope it is not the last we see of this world from Emma Scott. Beta read

This may be the best HEA I've read in a while, not only for this book, but for the series as a whole. The amount of heart inside this story and inside Ronan's chest/in his character is just...I don't have the words to describe how it makes me feel, but it makes me clutch at my chest, so just picture that ;) What do you get when two very private and closed off characters fall for each other? Angsty moments due to miscommunication or no communication or misunderstandings and you know I am here for that. Throw in the reasons why they are this way and you see they have a hard road to love because they don't yet know how to love themselves. They fight it every step of the way but you, the reader, are rooting so hard for them because they are inherently good people and you want it for them so badly! I also love that we get to revisit the timeline of the other two stories and see the events that happened from a different point of view. It feels fresh, even though I've read it and know what happens so bravo to the author for incorporating that in a way that really worked for the stories. These books are about love, but almost more than that they are about friendship and family, finding your place in the world, finding your people, your tribe and I love the strong theme of "home" that runs through these stories. This is my favorite book of the series, even though I love my gentle but passionate Miller and my fiery yet so full of love Holden...Ronan always called to me most and the author did not disappoint with his story! Highly recommend this series!

I’m a huge fan of the found family trope and Emma Scott just portrayed it so well here, especially because I definitely felt the ‘ride or die’ vibes from their friendship. It’s bittersweet, knowing this is the last book in the series, but I’m truly thankful it exists. These six will always have a special place in my heart. ❤️ ok so I’m not sure if the ending was a hint that (view spoiler)[Frankie will have his own book?? maybe a spin-off? But, if not, I’m happy we were able to see him have a second chance to redeem himself. (hide spoiler)]

I finished this book a couple of days ago but I just wanted to sit with it for a while, to come to the reality that this series is over and I wont see the Lost Boys anymore. From the first book in this series Ronan stole my heart and I knew his story was going to be a heck of a journey. It was. I can tell you that Ronan has a huge heart and is a good person, right down to his very bones. Every scene with the lost boys together, their incredible friendship will stay with me forever. The family they created, a band of brothers all with very different characters but with solid gold souls! Shiloh is perfect, strong and resilient, smart and kind. I love her for Ronan, her honesty and stubbornness were just what he needed. I admire her creativity and drive (lets be honest I wish I was her!) With every story Emma Scott creates a world we all want to live in with characters we cant help but love. Once again she creates secondary characters like Maryann and Bibi that we all wish we had in our lives, steering us right and just loving us no matter what. Despite the perfect ending, I'm still not ready to let go of these boys.

I absolutely loved this book. It isn't just my favorite of this series--it's one of my favorites from Emma Scott, ever. If you've read the other books in this series, you're going to adore this. It goes in unexpected directions in surprising, occasionally heartbreaking, ultimately-perfect ways, and wraps everything up wonderfully. It's the end of an era. The Lost Boys are finished and found. With their hearts and souls full of love and light. I fought sleep to finish this book. It was too good to put down. Shiloh and Ronan are combustible. A match made out of a lifetime of pain and heartache. Walls to preserve those hearts. From the moment they meet, you can feel their energy connecting. It’s electric. But that angst creates a group of characters that you can't help but root for from day one. Broken but deserving of every repair. I would be remiss if I didn't mention my favorite supporting character, Bibi. Shiloh’s great-grandmother. She is a gem full of love and wisdom who welcomes Ronan with open arms from day one. And she is Shiloh’s rock. Scott's writing style of weaving intricate and emotional stories that are also incredibly sexy has me hooked. She is an absolute wordsmith.

"He was radioactive, his presence rearranging my atoms, turning me into someone I didn’t recognize." This book.... Where should I start?? The Last Piece of His Heart is epic conclusion to Lost Boys series and Emma Scott freaking nailed it. I could always count on Emma to touch my soul with her words and this story was one of those!!! The Last Piece of His Heart stole pieces of my heart bit by bit and by the end i was feeling whole with all the emotions this book invoked and my heart was bursting "He was radioactive, his presence rearranging my atoms, turning me into someone I didn’t recognize." The Last Piece of His Heart stole pieces of my heart bit by bit and by the end i was feeling whole with all the emotions this book invoked and my heart was bursting with happiness!! I devoured this book and i still couldn't get enough of this world and #Roloh. Emma's writing is FLAWLESS and EFFORTLESS that always have me spell bound from the beginning till the very end. Emma writes with everything in her. She pours her heart and soul in everything she writes and that makes her stories so damn magnificent. "That’s what you did with good and precious things. You held them tight and took care of them." Ronan and Shiloh's story wasn't easy but it was worth it! Ronan had a horrific childhood that left him lonely until he met Shiloh. An amazing, kick ass woman who won't let anyone come between her dreams. Their pasts and layers are beautifully explored throughly the book with absolute amazingness and sensitivity. And their chemistry and passion hot damn. They were on FIRE and i enjoyed every second of it. I could go on and on about this couple 😭😭they are perfection! I was swooning so hard. Ronan is full of mystery, less words brooding kind of guy that makes him that much appealing. It's so much more than a simple love story. Emma brings a specular story of hope, tragic childhood, and unconditional love. "He’s going to ruin me. Right here. Right now." And omg Emma always have such amazing, strong side characters too that complement the story perfectly! After reading When You Come Back To Me i didn't think i could fall more in love with any other characters but Emma made me love Ronan and Shiloh so much! This story was everything I needed and MUCH MORE! And reading this book made me miss my Lost Boys so much more!! It is an angsty, intense, beautiful, emotional coming of age story about finding self-worth, safety, true home. It is about need to belong, love, friendship, second chance and acceptance! It is a phenomenal read that left me happy and bittersweet at the same time cause i am ready to say goodbye to this world EVER! And that ending and epilogues makes my heart rejoice with joy and happy tears. it's epic! "But we were bonded by something stronger than blood or friendship or circumstance. We were soul mates." These Lost Boys and their significant ones have embedded and burrowed themselves in my heart and soul and i won't be letting them go. Can't recommend this book and series enough!!

True love. Pure romance. Those are my first thoughts upon finishing The Last Piece of His Heart by Emma Scott. This is the third and final installment in the Lost Boys series, and I do believe that it is my favorite. Ronan and Shiloh's story is one of tragedy, heartbreak, and the cruelty and injustice of this world. It's also a story of determination and hope. And true love. Although you could read this book as a standalone novel, the storylines between this and the first two books in this series True love. Pure romance. Although you could read this book as a standalone novel, the storylines between this and the first two books in this series are so intricately interwoven that you really do want to read the books in order. I loved reliving parts of the other books as seen through new eyes, and it makes this book all the more special. The Lost Boys are known by their peers as the outcast, the vampire and the criminal. Three lost souls that find each other and form an unbreakable bond of friendship. Ronan is the criminal. A young man with a heart of gold set adrift by a horrendous past that he can't seem to escape. Then he meets Shiloh, an independent and determined young woman who is battling her own demons. Together, they begin to let down the walls that they've built to protect their hearts, but what will they each sacrifice to protect one another? From the very first few pages of this book, I knew that my heart was going to be put through the wringer. This is an emotional read, yet at the same time, it is just such a heartwarming romance. Love in the purest form. Shiloh and Ronan's story left me with a smile and a sigh as I turned the last page. My only complaint is that this series had to end. I hate saying goodbye to these characters and the world that Emma Scott has created with these stories. Amazing ending to this series and I can't recommend it enough!
