Their blessing is being able to rent out Kat's house offering the old friends a new source of income in their golden years. The curse comes when they realize their new property requires extensive repair work before they can rent it out, and none of them have the spare cash to do the work. They quickly realize that you gotta have money to make money. So what will they ever do? When a cockamamie scheme to make money presents itself, the women jump at the chance to make some fast cash. But to just what extent will they go to save Kat's house? Mix-ups, miscommunications, and misunderstandings are the key words in this new crazy caper. In addition to another fast-paced mystery, enjoy a host of new zany characters, more priceless quips from your favorite character, Gwyn's mother Hazel, cameo appearances by some of The Witch Squad, AND a surprise engagement!

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. Well that's the last one that's out for awhile. I do enjoy these books, the idea that pensioners can cause so much trouble makes me laugh. In this book they are accused of robbing the bank, they escape prison and try to clear their names. I loved the story and I must admit I never figured out who done it.I love the way it always links into the Witch Squad books and it seems like the link might be stronger in the other books. These girls are just amazing and I've loved every book. Well that's the last one that's out for awhile. I do enjoy these books, the idea that pensioners can cause so much trouble makes me laugh. Absolutely hysterical! These old broads are like The Golden Girls on steroids. Fun, funny, madcap hijinks fill the pages and all the scrapes they get themselves into (and out of) are a breath of fresh air. Enjoy!

A Cute Read For me personally, this was a cute story. At times the author seemed to ramble a bit and the plot was a bit obvious but the characters were full of life. A fun story and would recommend to those that enjoy Cozy Mysteries.

Wanted to like it especially after... ... the pot brownies scene. But the more I read, the clearer it became that the author would show the reader something (a woman's affection for her first grandson, perhaps)and then tell that, bluntly, in so many words: "She was really close to him." Alternatively, another character chips in with,"You're really close to your grandson!" Enough of the telling-not-showing. I didn't finish the book. That Broke Witch I just finished books 1-4 of The Coffee Cohen's Cozy Capers and they were brilliant. The characters are so funny and mischievous that you really love them. Thank you for these books! Loved it! Honestly imagined them all as Golden Girls. Hazel was my fave! So sassy and sweet, just like Sophia! Ready to read them all.

So good! This series is so entertaining. Coming from an old group of four, I can relate to the antics these ladies could get up to. Thank you, M.Z. Reading this book made me think of the Golden Girls series and I couldn't help but see and hear the endearing actresses portraying the witches in the Coffee Coven. (OK. I realize there were only 4 Golden Girls and he book had 5 witches, but there were often extra characters on the series so this is not a stretch at all.) All in all, it was a delightful romp with a close-knit group of longtime friends that felt all too real despite the wagglings of magic that were used throughout. I would highly recommend it for anyone who enjoyed the Golden Girl TV series, anyone who likes a smattering of magic or who would love a world that actually had it, and anyone who needs to see that life does not get gruesome, dull, or stop being fun once you reach that "certain" age. Read on and enjoy!

Not sure who has more adventure the Witch Squad or the Grannies Another fun read the Grannies in peril again, romance and adventure and of course a mystery to solve. This story leads nicely into the Witch Squads second year. Hazel serves up the giggles again with her sharp as a tack quips. the "girls" get themselves in and out of trouble, sleuthing their way to clear their names and free Lonnie along the way. More characters to love! The Coffee Coven is a funny, interesting, hip group of seniors who are in essence The Elderly Witch Squad. I love that the characters intermingle between both series. I'm waiting now for the book where they all work together on a case or two. Just like past books, these characters draw you in and you become more invested in them as the stories build. This is a fun series. We finally learn Lonie's secret. Hazel is a trip as always and some unexpected romance fun occurs. Lot's of hijinks and Cameo's by Reign, Linda, (which is expected) and Mercy and Jax. Lot's of fun watching the characters figure out the mystery (Oh my the pizza roll bit was funny), making mistakes and falling into luck. Great addition to the series and looking forward to more. Got to 20% and just couldn't finish. The characters were getting odder and odder and the plot just couldn't hold my interest. Got to 20% and just couldn't finish. The characters were getting odder and odder and the plot just couldn't hold my interest.
