In true obsessive reader fashion, I'm completing my "catch up" of this series by going through all the short stories I missed. These stories are super short and quick to read, but they take my mind off the madness of the world, and that's worth anything at this point. This story takes us on a very hot day in the life of Maggie and Killian. Killian really shines (both figuratively and literally) in this story. Of course, their nice little "day off" can never actually be a day off for them, and the In true obsessive reader fashion, I'm completing my "catch up" of this series by going through all the short stories I missed. Of course, their nice little "day off" can never actually be a day off for them, and they end up fighting monsters and being their snarky selves. While nothing in here is groundbreaking and you can read these in whatever order you please, they are super duper fun. Each one gives a little more insight and love to all the characters we know from the main storyline.

My biggest issue with this series now is how we keep being thrown these tiny pointless novellas like they could possibly make up for the fact that nothing interesting or important has happened in the last three books. It’s like Danley thinks if she throws enough of them our way we won’t sit here pointing out that most problems could be solved if Maggie listened to her mother. Or, you know, if she bothered to resolve anything instead of writing more filler. I want to enjoy these books again but I’ My biggest issue with this series now is how we keep being thrown these tiny pointless novellas like they could possibly make up for the fact that nothing interesting or important has happened in the last three books. Lazy, Hazy Days of MacKay's (Holiday Book 4) Who doesn't love a day at the beach and amusement park rides??? Just about everyone, except those that burn easy from the Sun. Maggie and Killian just can't seem to get a day off, without some creatures (good or bad) messing things up. Why was it so hot!! All sorts of mayhem and fishy things are happening all around the beach, to interrupt Maggie and Killian's day of fun. A short, funny as always, but enjoyable story. A quick read. Maggie and Killian are great together in this series. They start out chasing a demon and then go to an amusement park. The weather is extremely hot. They end up fighting for their lives. I like the humor and action. I always like the variety of supernatural creatures which appear in this series. One never knows what type of creature shall appear. This is a fun story.

Adorable and humorous This is a short novella about Maggie and Killian in LA. They decide it's too hot to track demons and head to Santa Monica to have fun. Things are not right there and Maggie and Killian need to fix it before the world is destroyed. Great imagery and humor will delight you. It's worth your while.. Excellent short in the Maggie MacKay universe Maggie and Killian are trying to survive an extremely hot summer day at the beach. But a fire demon and an ancient goddess mermaid throw a spanner in the works. Is a relaxing day at the beach too much to ask?

Typical story for Maggie and Killian. Action, humor and a mystery to solve. Having a heat monster/demon for a character fits with the title of the book, lol! Now adding in the mermaid was an excellent touch! The ending leaves you wanting more as in what will happen to them next!
