"Irritating" I stopped before I got into Chapter 2. I can't recall the last time I did that. Something about the writing style irritated me in the opening chapter. On its own that sentiment can be viewed as powerful and insightful, but when the device defines every paragraph (as far I managed to read) then it becomes annoying.

Because I'm an editor/copyeditor, I read with a different sensibility. I admit to having trouble reading books filled with typos, basic punctuation errors, and just plain wrong words, such as "withering in pain" that should be "writhing in pain." That said, this book was decent for a light read, but it would have been even better had it been edited for clarity, correctness, and conciseness. Another great one This is the 3rd book in this series that I've read, and all of them have been outstanding. I appreciate the character development, the descriptiveness of the various subplots, and the richness of the stories Mr. O'Mahoney writes . But he gets there, and the twists and turns are fun to read and make for enjoyable, ready to read, but suspenseful books. Excellent This book is a page turner. The character's are individuals, but some how all are interwoven in each other's life. I'm sorry for the loss of your friends, but we always learn from our experience we shared. That stands out in this story. Thank you for a great story. Excellent This book is a page turner. Expected More. I had great hopes for this book. My first by this particular author and I was truly disappointed. It started well but sadly it lost it's fizz towards the end - rather like a damp squid! All in all the synopsis was better than the book. Expected More. I had great hopes for this book. Justice It took me 2 days to read this book because I wanted to savor each and every word didn't want to miss anything. It made me proud of the attorney who believes in hope. I kept me on the edge of me couch. Justice It took me 2 days to read this book because I wanted to savor each and every word didn't want to miss anything. The best of Ted Hunter! I have thoroughly enjoyed this series, and regret there's not another book to dive into. Each book has several stories going on simultaneously, so it's quite engrossing. Not the best plotted book in the world. Lots of insinuations "he was corrupt!" and a dropped hint here or there until a flurry of revelations at the end. Like the story line. Hard to put the book down. One odd thing I noticed is the misuse of "I and me". Is it intensional or poor English? Rare in a book. Like the story line.
