While reading Hunter S. Jones’ book, set mostly around the final hours of Queen Anne Boleyn, one is transported back to Tudor England. The controversy and mystery surrounding what exactly happened to Henry VIII’s infamous second wife, from their first meeting to her death at the hands of a French executioner is all touched on in this book. You can clearly see the immense amount of research Ms. Jones undertook to present this information, but it’s not the dry and dusty presentation of facts one would normally get. The drama of the execution of Anne by her husband for facts that had never been proven, the imagery of her last days in a cell in the Tower of England, to her death on the scaffold, her head lopped off not by a British axe man, but with the sure sword of a man brought from France specifically for this task. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading more from this author. There are some typos, and wrong words used, but it doesn’t detract from this story so much that I would give a lower rating for it. **Read with my Kindle Unlimited subscription

I cannot recommend this book. I seriously doubt any proof reading was done before publishing. In several chapters whole paragraphs were lifted and re-printed from prior chapters. Some dates were wrong. VERY MANY typos - misspellings, bad English, extra words, erroneous plurals, so many that it nearly destroyed any enjoyment from reading the book at all.

I gave up reading about 2/3 through the book. It was so poorly written that I just couldn't finish it. There were entire sections that were repeated from one chapter to another and exposition that was just factually incorrect. The entire book seemed like a jumble of incoherent thought.
