Change is part of life, but so is death. And I’ve about had my fair share of it. The shimmer man’s threats are coming to pass. Question is, what the hell am I going to do about it? A kick ass Urban Fantasy Adventure filled with fey, demons, vampires, gargoyles and golems.

Love how this all came together even if I wish there would have been just a little bit more maybe? Fun series that I don't regret trying at all and will definitely been looking into others from this author. I am so glad this book is over….no, not for bad reasons, but for good reasons! I loved the way this book wrapped everything up, how Kat finally got her happy ending. There were a couple big surprises in this book that are great, and I was so happy to see Henri again. After the end of this book, I can see so many possibilities of spin-offs, and I can’t wait to see what the fertile mind of this wonderful author will come up with next. An ending I'm not so sure tha Henry and Kat don't have a romantic connection and a soul bond but Kat's connection to Bres is very strong. Perhaps after seeing Indigo's relationships, the three if them can see a way to work things out. The timeline for Kat's series ends right as the humans learn of the supernatural. Indigo's story ends a bit later but I know that this world isn't done yet. I really enjoyed Kat's ending and I hope to see what new chapters arise from all of this. What a great ending to a series that is in my top faves. Of course I am a huge, huge Debbie fan. I really do not think that she can do a bad book. She is a fun, strong character that fights hard for those she loves. The Shimmer Man and Kat have their showdown in LTG, and it is not pretty. This one is going to be epic so be prepared to move things around so that you can have however long you need to read this story. You will not want to put your kindle down. We also get to see some old friends return, namely Henri. That return was epic and one i was looking forward to reading. I like where everything ended up, and everyone. There are some revelations and secrets that come to light. The pace is fast, the flow smooth with action all the way to the end. Well done Debbie, and I cannot wait to see what you come up with next!!!

Karishma - joins the team and has a bigger role than she has had so far in the 2 sets of books as she also appears in the Night Watch Academy series - is this leading to a spin off? The storey has so many twists and turns and in normally Cassidy when you think teh storey is heading one way it goes in a completely different direction In fact there are so may spinn of possibilities and we know Debbie quite often follows up a series with a novella or two so i guess the question is - Is this the end or a lead in to more wonderful stories from this world which have come to love Also i cant wait for another UF from Debbie Cassidy as its been too long, dont get me wrong i love her RH books but these UF one are absolutely amazing!!!!

The final book in the Nightwatch series wraps everything up just enough - there was quite the cast of side characters from the other books in the series and most were addressed, no matter how briefly. There was so much to wrap up action wise between the Shimmer Man and the other bad guys introduced there wasn't a lot of room left for romance but really that was all addressed in the previous book so it wasn't that necessary except for readers who come for the romance primarily. The pace is just as fast and jam-packed as always, and I finished Lay the Ghost in a couple hours, breezing right through the crisp writing and clean editing. Kat continues to have miraculous thoughts and feelings about what is going on or how to solve issues, and though she is not my favorite heroine of Ms. Cassidy's I do really like the team dynamic and Scorchwood location. As usual, the story finishes in a satisfactory way while still leaving room for tangential adventures in other series. I remain as impressed by this author's broad creativity as ever - her imagination seemingly knows no bounds! 3.5 Stars

Epic finale of a great series. The threat of the Shimmer man breaking out of his prison and turn the human realm into apocalypse is becoming very real. The sleeping curse is vastly spread, and resources to stop him are thinning by the hour. Desperate search for a solution is turning into fight for the whole world and millions of lives, and even Henri's return might not be enough. For a quick and entertaining read, the book has everything one needs to read & relax - action, adventure, lots of suspense, kick ass characters, hot romance, and enough mystery to be solved under pressure to keep the drama going. Kat's live is one big chaos, whether the private one with Bres and Henri, or the social one with her odd friends and family and ghostly presences in her surroundings, or the mission she is on - to stop the ultimate threat using her abilities to wreak havoc. Yeah, that lady does not have it easy, but she is no damsel in distress and is ready to show what she is made of.

Yay my boy is back, but damn if I didn't want to strangle him for disappearing on Kat when she needed him the most. Also I couldn't quite decide during this book is I was #TeamHenri or if I'd started to be swayed toward #TeamBres. Those two play off each other so well, they both want to protect Kat and to make her happy, also the testosterone levels are through the roof when it comes to those two! Loved it all! What a fantastic finale to a great series; I am sad to see it come to an end. I know I say that about all of Cassidy’s books, but seriously, this author’s imagination always blows my mind. The worlds she creates and pulls me into are captivating and her characters are amazing and I love that they each have a strong voice, whether main or secondary, and always have their own strengths to add to the collective as well as relatable flaws that make them easy to form a connection with and keep you invested in their journey. We finally get the answers! All the mystery and secrets surrounding Henri’s origin along with Kat’s parentage and her true purpose are revealed. Buried secrets, hidden agendas, repressed memories, shocking connections, and secret identities will knock your socks off as they are exposed. And as always, we get the fabulous “Cassidy-style” twisters and surprises thrown in along the way. It just would not be the same without them. In this final tale, a majority of the world, both human and supernatural, have succumbed to the sleeping sickness constructed by the Shimmer Man while he puts his final plans into motion to end the world and take his revenge as well as finally be freed. The stakes have never been higher for Kat and her ragtag team, literally life and death, with no room for hesitation or error or it will be the end of everything. With the Shimmer Man’s power at ultimate strength and the barriers between worlds barely holding in place there are only a select few left to stand and fight all the evil, creepy crawlies that come from nightmares seeping through the barrier cracks. Kat and her crew, along with a few new allies, stand in the way of ultimate destruction and annihilation. Forced into an impossible situation that includes leaving her love and friends behind to battle the monstrosities being brought forth into their world, Kat, Henri, and Death embark on their final mission into the Shimmer Man’s world to defeat him once and for all. The stakes have never been higher and one misstep means not only the end of her life, but the lives of those she loves along with the world. Every fight up to this point, every bit of knowledge she has acquired, every skill she has, and all her strength and training have brought her to this moment in time, face to face with the Shimmer Man to end his terror once and for all. Edge-of-your-seat suspense, constant action, love and loss, refortification of bonds, new friends, family surprises, team drama, a whirlwind of emotions, can-do attitudes, fear and death, strong friendships and romance await you in the pages of this final book in the series. And believe me, you do not want to miss a thing! Even though this is the end of Kat’s personal story, I have a feeling we will be seeing more of this world in the future. Lay the Ghost is the final book in The Nightwatch series and should not be read as a stand-alone. This series is also a M/F with a semi-love triangle. Cassidy also has another series written in this same world, The Nightwatch Academy series, with Kat’s cousin, Indigo, and her ragtag team of hotties. It is a RH series and should be read in order, as well.

Well this was so good!! Everything wrapped up really well!! Loved having Indigo drop in!! It was a stellar ending to an excellent series! Can’t wait to see where She has in mind to go with this world as I know she doesn’t plan for it to end here. Just loved every minute of it, but she never disappoints! This series was jam packed with action! I enjoyed the storyline of the whole Nightwatch series and was sad to see it end. This book finally answers so many doubts and questions you have through the series. You also get so much more then you expect going in! And the ending...wow it was so good!! This is a fast paced book and I highly recommend reading the full series in order (I accidentally skipped one book and had to put one down and read the prior one). But this final book takes the cake!

Wonderful conclusion to the series but also a sad day. There's suspense, excitement, surprises and twists and amazing characters who are beloved by the reader.
