She had been heartbroken since he dumped her for a cushy life and he had always still has feelings for her. To me, Trey seemed to be a weak character. I actually felt that Ambi could've done much, much better. The dad was painted as being a jerk throughout the book until the end when he kinda does a complete 180 and as it turns out that Trey is actually the bigger jerk. By the end of this book it really let a bad taste in my mouth. As for the second book, I just can bring myself to read it.

Disappointed !!!!!! I really wanted to like this story, but I just couldn’t. I’m not sure if I missed it or not but this was two stories in one book and I don’t mind that but the author should have started with the story from cover page but it didn’t which made me frustrated. Instead it was a story about ex’s that broken up by a fathers ultimatum. The hero comes off as a big douche bag, throwing his money around, making light of their passed, treating her job with out regard just to push her. Any Disappointed !!!!!! Anyways the story is blah and frankly the end was worse because it’s comes off as a misunderstanding. As for the main story it started off kind cute the took a sharp nose dive when the hero showed interest in Callie and the hero was super sweet but Callie was a total witch with a B. She and her friend where nightmares spouting out garbage to this nice guy like it was his fault he came from money. The guy paid his dues and it was still not enough for these too. Frankly these two where unlike able and that is being kind. These stories where a struggle to finish because they so repetitive and blah. I can’t honestly say I would recommend it but if you are looking for the story in the description make sure skip the first one .

I liked that the mystery kiss wasn't drawn out and the guy just fessed up and asked the girl out. I didn't like how callie and her friend were so judgy. The guy was portrayed as a player and entitled, but his actions in the story didn't fit. It felt like they were just jealous of his success and belittled his accomplishment by assuming everything was just handed to him. I love this collection! Two wonderful and heartfelt stories! Claimed by the Boss is the story of Amberina and Trey. Sweethearts in college, their relationship ends when his father gives him an ultimatum - the girl or his inheritance. Of course, he chooses wrong and spends the next five years regretting it. Sweethearts in college, their relationship ends when his father gives him an ultimatum - the girl or his inheritance. Of course, he chooses wrong and spends the next five years regretting it. Fast forward those five years and Ambi has her own event planning business and she is called upon to plan the Christmas party for the company Trey and his father own. She is fuming mad at him, and has been for five years, for breaking her heart. Determined to stay away from him, Trey makes it extremely difficult when he takes over the planning on his end. He continues to get Ambi to give him a second chance and just when he thinks he's got it, his father steps in again and forces him to make another choice. As much as Ambi has forgiven him and wants to try again, she can't let him choose her over the only family he has left. So she gives Trey the ultimatum this time - they can only move forward if his father goes along with it. A conversation with his father finds the two of them having a true heart to heart conversation where truths are revealed, mistakes and misunderstandings admitted and a final plea from his father to go and get the love of his life. It works out in the end as not only do Trey and Ambi get their happy ending but a relationship blossoms between Trey's father and Ambi's mother. Kissed by the Boss is the story of Callie and Matt. She is his administrative assistant and things are going well until the company Christmas party when her coworker, best friend and roommate Chantara convinces her to go to the party with her. There after an entertainment snafu, everyone turns to the bar and Callie ends up drinking a little more than she planned. Add to that the fact that she lost a contact lens, doesn't have her glasses and can't really see without either and things suddenly get interesting. Mistletoe being hung in the hallway causes Callie to kiss someone but she can't see who it is. Turns out it's Matt, her boss. The kiss feels like no other kiss he's ever had and he can't stop thinking about it. Callie ignoring him all week, makes him think she didn't feel what he did until he overhears her telling Chantara that she doesn't know who she kissed. Matt then comes clean that it was him but convinces her to go on a date with him. He wants to see if the feeling is there when they are sober. She reluctantly agrees and he can't wait. She's been through a rough time as her fiance Ben, left her the night before their wedding. Despite not wanting to, she ends up enjoying her date with Matt and in the end, she ends up spending the night in his arms. She tells him her darkest secret thinking it won't matter as she is planning to quit her job and never see him again. Matt doesn't let it go though and does whatever he can to let Callie know he cares for her. After several tries, the two have a conversation that ends up changing everything. They both finally agree to let things happen naturally and see where they go. And they go right to their happily ever after. He feels guilty about how things ended, and hasn’t forgotten her, and wants to make amends… if not more. But she’s not very forgiving, because of how badly he hurt her. Ambi is gorgeous, compassionate, kind and tough as nails. Trey says she’s a heady, intoxicating mix of perfection (SO SWEET!). But she says she’d rather eat a $hit sandwich than accept his help (of giving her this particular, well-paid job). Ambi was torn between her head and her heart. She was still obviously still attracted to him (she’s only human!). When he smiled it was like someone switched on a generator inside and fired up the lights (SWOON!). They shared some kisses and admitted their true feelings – despite the obstacle of his father – who ended up being not so bad… he even got me to smile with some of his later comments! It was all just a matter of semantics and misunderstandings!? There were PLENTY of very funny jibes and insults (some I might use myself). But the essence of this story is a beautiful HEA for a truly lovely, deserving couple. One of my favourite lines was: “Her chest felt like it was going to explode and rain with rainbows and glitter and happiness all over the place”… aaahhhh!!! Anyway… LOVED it, and can’t wait to read more! BOOK 2: KISSED BY THE BOSS #spoilers It started with a kiss Callie is a relatively-new PA, and office Christmas parties are near the top of her list of things in life that were better off not done. Her best friend (who also happens to work for the same company) convinces her to go. She loses one of her contact lenses, and is subsequently pretty blind for the rest of the evening. She inadvertently engages in an under-the-mistletoe kiss, but has no idea who it was with! So… turns out it’s her hot boss Matt. He’s a bit of a player, and she’s not into guys that dine and dash (a term I’d never heard of before). She’s also very wary, after being left by her fiancé the night before their wedding. He is however trying to change his ways with the women, and says he’ll swear off them for a while… but, he knows who he kissed and he can’t stop thinking about her, and that unexpected, though not unwelcome kiss! Lots of to-ing and fro-ing, and some major mutual attraction, they eventually admit how they feel, and where that might lead them. You’ll have to read it to find out more deets! You won’t regret it! The story has a fair bit of drama and lots of emotion, covering some issues that make the characters relatable, and incredibly likable. I for one would like to see these characters revisited later down the track, to see where they are. I really loved it, and would recommend this read! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily (and happily) leaving a review.

A well rounded story full of comedy and romance by characters you can’t help but love and a very happily ever after. Kissed by the Boss Callie has been neglected emotionally for most of her life from an event that she has had to go through when she was fourteen years old. She has closed herself off ever since to protect herself emotionally. Then one day she got a new job and her boss was hot. She was attracted to him but he was off limits. Then they had their Christmas party and everyone was drinking and people became looser in their behaviour. Callie was on her way to get her dinner when her contact lens popped out and rather than make herself sick, she took out the other one. Her best friend Chantara, was there to help her. They both were a little worse for wear and were on their way home. Callie couldn’t find Chantara, but she tried to make it to the door on her own, but tripped over her own feet and landed right into her boss Matt’s arms. He was just about to take down the mistletoe that someone had hung up and Chantara encourages them to kiss. Which they do. Matt had just made a vow that he was giving up women since they were only ever after his money. Then he had the pleasure of seeing his PA Callie as he had never seen her before, he was attracted to her. Then he gave in to the urge to kiss her under the mistletoe. From there he was hooked. But he was surprised that Callie didn’t act any different from normal. Then he learns she had no idea it was him because she couldn’t see. He then sets up a way to win her over. Matt has a battle on his hands but with the help of Chantara, he is able to get through to Callie. They eventually have their happily ever after. Lindsey Hart has given us a duo of stories to read and enjoy. In the first offering, “Claimed by the Boss” the two main characters are Amberina and Trey. In the first offering, “Claimed by the Boss” the two main characters are Amberina and Trey. Amberina has her own event planning business. She receives a call wanting her to plan a huge party with an enormous budget and a large fee for her services. The downside is that the company is one that her ex boyfriend’s father owns and the stinking turd ex works there. Trey (the turd) unceremoniously dumped her when the father threatened to cut him out of any inheritance if he didn’t choose family over the girl. The line has been drawn in the sand, and the fireworks that are going off between Ambi and Trey have only begun. The question that remains to be answered is that actions speak louder than words and sometimes actions cannot be overcome. The second offering is ”Claimed by the Boss” with the two main characters being Callie and Matt. Callie is the shy reserved PA for hunky rich Matt. Callie’s co-worker and roommate insists they go to the annual work Christmas party. After the overly long speeches, they finally get to the buffet and Callie loses a contact, and she has to remove the remaining one which leaves her unable to see much of anything. Matt has decided to swear off women since they only seem to want him for the money. After several drinks, Matt hears that several employees are having a little too much fun under the mistletoe in the hallway. While taking the pieces he gets slammed from behind by Callie. The ensuing kiss leaves an impression for both of them. Matt has never been this aware of a woman, and he wants more. Callie is shocked by her behavior, but she knows that no one will ever want her because of her past. Matt wants Callie more than anybody in the past, but she believes that a relationship with any man is impossible. Can the guilt Carrie has be overcome in time? However, Trey's father has never approved or so he thoughts. Will these two get the happily after ever they desire once the reasoning behind some questionable parenting advise years ago is finally clarified? In Kissed by the Boss, Callie and her best friend Chantara work for the same company. It's the annual Christmas party, and Chantara convinces Callie to go thinking it'll be less boring together, plus the cheap bar. Callie unfortunately ends up blind for the night after one of her contacts come out, and she didn't bring her glasses. Chantara is constantly supplying her with drinks, and by the end of the night, both are wasted. On their way our, a simple kiss to a stranger would change Callie's life. Matt, her boss, wasn't drunk and completely remembers the kiss that rocked his work. Then the chase begins with Callie kicking and screaming all the way. But will she allow her past trauma to stop her from having the future she deserves? I really like both books. The lesson from Claimed by the Boss is sometimes you must follow your heart, even if others are against it. I may work out or not, but what you won't have is what ifs. Kissed by the Boss tells us to not get wasted at the office Christmas party (LOL), but if you do, be prepared to the consequences. Fortunately, it turned out well for Callie. The stories are well written, with minimal errors. They each could've been their own book with extended dialogue to further tell the stories, but I enjoyed them. He wants to use their interaction to win her back and she wants to have nothing to do with him. The story is about how he tries to win her back. I loved how he now wanted to do whatever it took to get her back after how badly he treated her before. He would have to work hard if he wanted a HEA. The second story was I Kissed The Boss. Callie had worked for Matt for a year before they had the company Christmas party. After they both had too much to drink they ended up kissing under the mistletoe. Matt had previously decided that he wanted to end his playboy ways and find a serious relationship. He felt the electricity in their kiss and decided he wanted a relationship with her. Unfortunately, Callie had lost her contacts before the kiss and didn’t know who she had kissed. She had also felt something special in the kiss did not want to get involved in a relationship because of issues from her past. The story is about Matt convincing Callie that they should be together. Things do not go smoothly because Callie has never dealt with her past and can’t move on. There would be a lot of work before there could be a HEA. I liked both stories about couples having to deal with issues from their past. The stories were well written and I recommend this book.

I found this book discounted on Amazon via Bargainbooksy; this is my honest review. -To tell the truth, I bought the duet for the second book but I thought it would be the first book so that was a bit of a letdown for me. At the end, it didn't matter; these are not worth rereading. Book #1: Claimed by the Boss -Trey and Amberina: I thought they were both pathetic, waiting 5 long years to reconnect and see the truth that they were both trying so hard to hide. -The father confused me to no end and no wonder Trey chose to please him (and his late mother) instead of Ambi. -Ambi is really harsh in everything, extremely rude to her client; even when she says she's professional she's really not. If she had worked for me, I would have fired her a long time ago. -Trey knows Ambi is not interested in his money but he keeps spending aplenty. He just didn't get it. Book #2 Kissed by the Boss -I loved the description of the book, but the author didn't deliver. -Matt & Callie: Matt was wonderful but Callie was hurtful all the way and changing her mind like she changed her shirt. Really unpleasant. -Callie was exceedingly stuck up on money: her place, free lattes, etc. Also, just because he's your lover, or ex-lover and ex-boss, doesn't mean you cannot offer him a glass of water. It's simple manners and Callie lost them completely (I don't have to wait on your every need). Ouch. -The end of their relationship was really weird. Matt needed, absolutely needed, to tell Callie something thrice. Why not say it the first time? -A bit unbelievable to blame the lack of contacts to not see who you are kissing. I'm -14.75 and I can recognize my husband when he kisses me. -Editing needs a serious pass; it was really upsetting. She 27 or 24? Working there one month or three months? Mix in names. I always love reading this author's books. You are sure to get a really good story line and meet some amazing characters along the way. Claimed by the Boss - Trey needs someone to plan the company holiday party and what better person than his ex, Amberina. No jokes, she is a party planner and this could be his one shot at a second chance with her. It has been five years since he made the wrong choice, can he convince Amberina to give him a second chance? It is the holiday season, a time for miracles. I Kissed the Boss - You know what they say, don't drink too much and be on your best behavior, you to face these people and work with them on a daily basis come Monday. So what if you do not take those thoughts or unwritten rules to heart? You drank too much which leads to the loss of your contacts which leads to you blindly, literally, kissing someone in the office? Which was super hot by the way.......now to figure out whose lips those were. This is Callie and Matt's story, it all starts with a kiss under the mistletoe but an it bring them together for a HEA? Both stories were enjoyable holidays romances to read. It is always great to read of happy ever afters but to happen during the holidays, that just makes them more fun. Enjoy! This box set of two fun Christmas workplace romances are great quick-and-steamy reads for the holiday season. SUMMARY Novella One: "Claimed by the Boss" Five years ago Trey chose his inheritance over his romance with Ambi, and he has spent every day since regretting it. Which is why he hires her self-run company to plan the office Christmas party. Ambi hates Trey. Which is why she accepts his offer to plan the party, to show him just how successful she has become. But Trey isn't ready to give up, and he will do everything he can to get her back. Novella Two: "Kissed by the Boss" Every year the office Christmas party gets a little out of control - and this year every one is drunk and kissing under the mistletoe. Cue Callie losing her contacts and sharing a steamy kiss with a blurry, unknown man. Matt is stunned when he shares a kiss-like-no-other with his administrative assistant at the office Christmas party. However, when she shows indifference towards him at work the next day, he is confused. Matt wants to explore the connection, but Callie has been closed off since her fiancee left her last year. Will Callie be able to open her heart, or will she run away? REVIEW I really enjoyed these! I will admit that out of the two, "Claimed by the Boss" was my favourite. The reason for this is because it was more light-and-fluffy compared to emotionally-heavy content in "Kissed by the Boss". "Claimed by the Boss" had the true essence of a rom-com. Watching Ambi fight her residual feelings towards Trey, while trying to show him that she is living her best life was hilarious. Every time she did something to purposely annoy him, he would retaliate with some massive romantic gesture. Overall, this was a story filled with a lot of back-and-forth banter and sexual tension. "Kissed by the Boss" is a more intense story about a woman who suffered deep emotional trauma and is afraid to open her heart again. I really loved Matt. He was so wonderful and accepting of Callie. He understood when she needed space, and when she was just trying to cut-off society as an unhealthy coping mechanism. These two shared a raw and instant connection. I loved watching them come together and accept the other for their flaws. It was a wonderful story, but do be aware of the triggers mentioned below. Hurt her so much so that she closed herself from the world so to speech as a whole. Everyone except her best friend from college that knew the truth behind Callie. Matt himself had been having a difficult time with women. It seemed that every women that he dated wanted something from him. It was getting to the point that he was beginning to get the type of reputation around the office that he really didn’t want. He just wanted someone to like him for himself and was beginning to give up on that ever happening. That is until the fateful Christmas party. One piece of plastic mistletoe and two people having too much to drink and one of them blind with out their corrective lenses in. It was worth reading and understand the struggle these two different but so alike people were going through. I really enjoyed reading this story.

In an unfortunate turn of events, she loses her contacts and the near-sighted woman can't see a thing clearly. Too bad, because her boss, Matt, is the man standing under the mistletoe, the man the partygoers are urging her to go ahead and kiss. Caught up in the festive mood, she gives in to the kiss without ever knowing it's her boss. Matt gave up on dating a long time ago because most women just wanted him for his money. The characters were likable and the reader could care about them. Grab your copy and see if Matt and Callie can get back together and try for that HEA!
