This book provides meal plans for 28 days, and 85 recipes to help readers lose weight and easily cook delicious meals. The recipes are all fairly simple with basic ingredients that are widely available. At the beginning of the book, the author provides excellent advice about changing your lifestyle to be healthier, sleep better, reduce stress, and include gentle exercise into your daily routine. The recipes are all fairly simple with basic ingredients that are widely available. At the beginning of the book, the author provides excellent advice about changing your lifestyle to be healthier, sleep better, reduce stress, and include gentle exercise into your daily routine. The book gives a positive picture of the whole person, instead of only focusing on diet. There are sections about portion control, calories, vitamins, and whole foods, but the book also mentions developing good habits of exercise, meditation, unplugging from technology and screens, and how to make time in your busy schedule for cooking. I really appreciated the balance in this common-sense approach. The best thing about this book is having a meal plan and grocery shopping list already written out for you. It takes all the guess work and decision fatigue away, and leaves you free to enjoy your food! Each recipe section is divided by the type of "pot" being used for the recipes. There are sections for using a blender, a slow cooker, a pressure cooker, a soup pot, dutch oven, casserole dish, and skillet. Each section includes breakfast recipes, lunch recipes for taking to work or school, dinner with the family recipes, and a healthy dessert. The photos of the different foods are making my mouth water, and they are very useful for helping the reader to visualize what the completed recipe will look like. The recipe instructions are easy to follow, and include wonderful information about the nutritional value of different foods and the way various spices or vegetables help our bodies to release toxins, reduce inflammation, provide essential vitamins, or encourage healthy gut bacteria. The recipes look amazing, and I can't wait to try some of them out in my own kitchen! There are several soup recipes that sound delicious; Carrot Apple Soup with Turmeric, Chunky Tortilla Soup, and Sweet Potato Kale Soup. Some of the pasta recipes include Vegetable Lasagna, Pizza Casserole, and Lemon Chicken Orzo with Asparagus. The Sweet and Sour Chicken recipe looks especially good too! Do you know the feeling you get when you pick up a new cookbook and realize it will be your new go-to cookbook? The ingredients are the food you already love and always have on hand? The recipes teach innovative ways to combine the ingredients for completely new flavor experiences? The One-Pot Weight Loss Plan is my new favorite cookbook! The ingredients are the food you already love and always have on hand? The recipes teach innovative ways to combine the ingredients for completely new flavor experiences? The One-Pot Weight Loss Plan is my new favorite cookbook! My last favorite was published by Pillsbury in the 1970s so I’m pretty discriminating when I choose a favorite. This cookbook uses common and healthy ingredients like canned beans, fresh vegetables, inexpensive meats, and common spices to create delicious meals. I’m on WW (Weight Watchers) blue program and the recipes here are all extremely low points as long as you use lean meats and cheeses. The book includes its own 28-day diet plan that includes a shopping list. However, these recipes will work for most non-extreme diets. Full nutritional data is listed for each recipe. The book indicates recipes free of the common allergens and those recipes that are vegan and vegetarian. The book divides up its 85 recipes by the single “pot” needed to cook them. Though many can be cooked by another method or with a simple pot on the stove with some timing and water changes. Many of these pots are actually available modes within the typical instant pot like soup pot, slow cooker, and skillet. The other “pots” within the book are blender, one-bowl, Dutch oven, casserole, and sheet pan. Okay, I can hear you say but what about the recipes? All types are here: soups, salads, Buddha bowls, roasted meat-and-potato bakes, smoothies, stir-fries, curries, breakfasts, quiches, oatmeal, enchiladas, tofu curry, and vegetable lasagna. Also included are many desserts from puddings to cheesecake. The One Pot Weight Loss Plan is already becoming my go-to cookbook. I’ve already made six of the recipes. They were easy and delicious. It’s use of common ingredients, low-calorie but tasty flavors, and easy one-pot clean-up make for an easy weekday meal assistant. Check it out and see if it will be your favorite cookbook too. 5 stars! Thanks to Rockridge Press and Callisto for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

VERDICT: The perfect book to easily start your dieting adventure, or to persevere in it! I recently presented the book One-Pot Cooking for Two. Some Good Easy recipes I am a whole food kind of person but yet I find it a bit hard to cook good solid delicious food. While some of the recipes have too many ingredients in my opinion, many also have few ingredients and sound delicious. I can't wait to try the sweet and sour chicken. It looks easy. I also like the salmon recipes. I hope to use these recipes to cut down even more on processed foods. This book is divided into two parts. Part One describes the diet and meal plan (what to avoid, healthy swaps, keeping costs down, etc.) and Part Two includes the recipes. This is one of the few cookbooks that I actually find the "before the recipes" pages interesting. So informational and helpful. I love the idea of one-pot, meaning less work and less clean-up. Each chapter has a lined page (full-page) for you to write your notes. Kinda cool. The recipes are rather simple and include if they're ve This book is divided into two parts. The recipes are rather simple and include if they're vegetarian, gluten-free, nut-free, etc. I like that there is a wide variety of dishes, and I can't find a single thing I don't like--other than the fact that there are so few photos--which is my usual complaint with cookbooks.
