"Loving Josiah is forbidden, but that can’t stop Susanna’s feelings" My life in small-town Iowa has always been predictable. I’m expected to help the Woods family around the house and on the farm as an eternal expression of gratitude for taking me in after my family’s death. A debt that includes me marrying Hank, their eldest son. I’m expected to help the Woods family around the house and on the farm as an eternal expression of gratitude for taking me in after my family’s death. A debt that includes me marrying Hank, their eldest son. That all changed when I fell in love with Josiah Turner. Stumbling across his handsome face in the meadow was the most fortunate moment of my life. It’s trouble enough that I’d fall for another man but unthinkable that he’d be half-Indian. We can’t be together. Everyone in this county, both Indian and white will make sure of that. But I can’t stop thinking about Josiah. This town may break out in war but being without him is not something I’m prepared to do. If it means severing the relationships of the only people I know and inciting a mob, that’s a price I may have to pay. Forbidden Feelings is a clean historical Western romance with no cliff-hangers and a happily ever after!

After the death of her family when she was young, Susanna lives with the Wood family. Neither the Indians nor the white men want them to be together and it seems their relationship is doomed from the start. In the story there's an act of violence you should prepare for. My first book by This author and I have to give her 5 stars for a storyline that pulled me in within the first pages. Excellent character development of people that took on a life of their own. Susannah was taken in by the Woods family after the death of her family. However, as she gets older, she becomes more of a maid to the family. She has a close friendship with the eldest daughter and there is an unspoken "fact" that she will marry the eldest Woods boy, Hank, when he is ready to marry. A clean, sweet romance that will keep you turning the pages. I received an ARC copy of this book. This is my voluntary, honest and completely personal review. VICKI FROM WYOMING

This story first grabbed my attention being a historical romance (which I prefer to read) and based in Iowa (where I was raised). But what I really enjoyed was how Susanna and Josiah's lives started to interact. She was orphaned and taken in by another family. He was a half-breed Indian living alone. The author wrote how it was to be a half-breed and not fit in anywhere. I thoroughly enjoyed the book!! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This was a wonderful story. I like how the author wrote the story showing us how Susanna worked through her relationship with Josiah. It's sad that people could be so prejudiced back then, even decades after the Indian problems quit happening. I also love how the author included an epilogue at the end. This is not the first book I've read by this wonderful author and I plan to read more. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Great story of a young lady that is orphaned. In order for a family to take her in, she must marry the oldest son. It seems that the heart can not choose whom it loves. She falls in love with a person that is part Indian, which is a no no. Can true love win out or will she be forced to leep her promise? Sweet short story. She losses her family and is adopted into the neighbours. On visiting a neighbour she comes upon an injured half breed young man. She helps him and a friendship forms. This friendship leads to family hate and she becomes an outcast. She eventually marries him and moves away. HEA ending.

This is a well written , clean historical Western romance with strong , well developed characters and detailed scenes. It's a story dealing with prejudice that is still an issue today. It's an interesting story that had me hooked from start to finish reading. I would recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I love this book that I was given to review. A few pages into the book and I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. Bell Thompson has a talent for making the storyline so real with the characters coming to life. I can highly recommend this book. Cannot wait for her next book.

I enjoyed reading this book very much. It is a short story that is long on love. Set in a time when tensions are high between early settlers and native indians. One woman tries to bridge the gap. Read the story to find out how she fared.

This story was just okay for me. Clean as promised. Good concept. Josiah wasn't developed enough as a character. Just wanted a little more reason to see Susanna and him together. This is a clean and cute story. Love isn't always the easy and safe route sometime you have to take a leap of faith. Love is blind but others are not and preconceived prejudice's are hard to let go of. This is a clean and cute story. I was very drawn into this story from the beginning to the end. I love this author’s final chapter or epilogue she leaves no cliff hangers like most authors do so you can rest easy on the ending of all the main characters.
