The Secret The foundations of living were instilled in this young boy for the first seven years of his life. When Hitler came into power their family was eventually drawn into the ghettos where they were able to remain as a family. Eventually this same young man was on his own in an unwelcoming world. This is an excellent book, highly recommended for its truth and credibility.

Amazon customer Wow . What a remarkable true story of the will to live in that horrific genocide. I think he is true inspiration for the next generations who might faced difficulties in life. We should all be inspired most by self discipline and still have compassion for humanity. We are not all beasts and with the mustard seeds of love and respect we all can survive.

Great book Unbelievable! It is very difficult to even imagine what these poor souls endured. This book is a real page turner, with explicit details regarding the hell that the individuals were faced with. The author did a amazing job on this book! Thank you for writing it so that that nonbelievers can actually read for themselves what happened.

Didn't like his perspective Good story, but told from kids perspective...an adventure. Harkins on deaths, but focus is on his enjoyment of life. Explanations at end were helpful. Excellent memoir I’ve read countless memoirs of Holocaust survivors. This was particularly interesting because it was written from a child’s point of view and is focuses on his means of survival rather than the atrocities he witnessed and experienced.
