Warning, the Companion books are addicting! I have bought and read all the Companion books in print at this time, they are great! I am an older lady on a limited income, but they are worth the money I paid. I have read thousands of books since I started reading as a child, (I am a very fast reader) and have really enjoyed these books. I really enjoy reading and rereading good books, these are good books.

I loved this story. Dion and Astra are a tough couple with reservations. Their relationship starts rocky as they spend time fighting with and for each other. This story kept me locked in and I devoured this book in one day. Tanya does an awesome job of writing strong female characters and Astra doesn’t disappoint. This story was entertaining and addictive. If you love YA romance you won’t be disappointed.

Astra and Dion This has been a great series. Dion doesn't plan to fall in love and certainly Astra does not. She plans to return to Archdale Castle. She wants to become the best Mentor they ever had. But she doesn't plan to fall in love with all the orphans, Primrose and oh, yes, Dion. I can't wait for the next book in this series. I thought Cora deserves a happy ending. I am sure her marriage hasn't been easy. But then she is a strong woman and most likely is giving King Jayr a run for his money Astra and Dion This has been a great series. Dion doesn't plan to fall in love and certainly Astra does not. Tanya is my favourite author. I have loved all of her books and quickly consume every word she releases. As a huge fan, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Astra’s book as she wasn’t a particularly likeable character in previous books but, as always, Tanya draws me into the story. She always paces the story perfectly and builds up to a very dramatic ending that is so captivating you can’t put it down. All you can do is hang on and hope these beloved characters will find happiness in the end. Thank Tanya is my favourite author. Amazing!! I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to read a book about Astra, but I'm so glad I did! There is so much more to her character than I ever expected. I'd most certainly sold her short and I'm glad that was rectified in this story! She's fierce, goofy and so lonely it burns. Then there is Dion....with a heart of gold. Don't get me wrong....there were times when I wanted to slap them both, but without giving anything away, they are beautiful characters! As always, Tanya Bird's writing is exqui Amazing!! My absolute favorite author!!! I have not read a single book I did not like, no looooooove! The superb quality of writing, the perfect balance of adventure and romance, no explicit scenes, great character building, amazing, edge of you seat storyline... I love it all. I could not imagine how I would grow to appreciate Astra. I was sceptical to see how this character would be endeared to me after the portrayel of her in previous books but by-gonnet! Love this series Although, this heroine has not been my favorite character. But, you can't always choose your heroes. ( even if you want to shake the snot out of 'em) . I hated her at the beginning of this series and didn't like her much here, but that being said...I see where she comes from and this was a good book. If you follow the series closely you can tell it's wrapping up even before the announcement of the final. And BTW Ms. Bird if you don't manage to kill off Paderus... This series just keeps getting better & better. I can’t seem to quit it! Only one more book & the series is over. I’m not sure I can take it, might need another re through. I love this world & all the drama & love it entails. Okay, do not be deterred by the three star rating. The writing was superb, I just personally can't stand Astra. I never liked her. I love Aldara, Hatti, Saphira, and even Cora oh, and Petra was okay too, but Astra always irritated me so naturally, her story did too. The book bored me a bit, but once again, only because I didn't like Astra. I thought she was written so very well though! Another Can't-Put-Down Book! I look forward to Tanya's books. Not only for the story and content thereof, but because we get to see old friends again, and meet new ones. And say good riddance to old enemies. Even you can can read this book as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading all of the books. That way you get the back story of where Astra, Aldara, Sapphire, Petra, & Hati come from; and how they and their 'knigts in (not so shiney), armor' saved each other. Another Can't-Put-Down Book! Another masterful addition to the companion series! This fifth installment in the companion series was masterful and beautiful. Astra and Dion's love story was filled with its ups and downs, but it all lead to a swoon worthy ending that left you begging for book six in the series.

I had forgotten why I loved this series so much! I loved the first few books so much that revolved around Tyron and Aldara but then there seemed to be a long gap before the series continued. Somehow, by searching new books that have been released I saw TB had released a few more. I was so excited! I'm thrilled to be reacquainted with this world. I can't wait for book 6!

I have read all of the Companion series thus so far and I have gotten really attached to these characters. I love the way this author writes, and builds her characters. Out of all the books this one maybe felt a little weaker than the others overall, but then again Astra was not my favorite Compainion to begin with. Still, it was worth reading.

I felt that Astra was not really a likeable character at all in the series. She is beautiful, very “skilled” and knowledgeable, but completely emotionally detached. It was hard to accept any real relationship between Astra and Dion because of this despite a crack in the facade near the end. Through most of the story Astra even planned to to get “back and into” a job she coveted despite other changes in her situation. I really liked the setting, family and extended family involvement in the story I felt that Astra was not really a likeable character at all in the series. I really liked the setting, family and extended family involvement in the story though. Stamitos and Sapphira are familiar and very likeable well grounded characters for Astra to learn about real life “choices” from. Dion seems like a good man and his family history and connections highlight the political arena and players involved. The political situation between all the kingdoms- who was allies with whom- was most interesting. I can really see how this story leads directly to the next book. I was never really drawn into Astra and Dion’s story but rather the situations and details leading to the final novel.

Tanya never lets me down. Seriously. This book is great. I went in not being a fan of Astra (having met her in a previous book) but of course I was a fan by chapter 2! I loved Astra. I loved Dion. I loved their love story. This book was so well done and I enjoyed staying up until 4am to finish it :) *I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review*

In a drunken moment, Pandarus offers up Astra in a game of cards and loses her to our hero Captain Dion. Dion is just as jaded in life as Astra and so begins the battle wills between them. The Captain’s Prize is a satisfying addition to the Companion series. Though Astra has not been one of my favorites, in fact I never liked her but Ms. Bird is able to create a strong and sympathetic character in Astra. She isn’t the hard, ice cold companion that is shown in the other books. Astra has just been a companion longer and has a harder time adjusting to life outside of Archdale Castle and letting go of her perfect companion persona. I enjoyed this book and recommend it if you are following this series. There is one last book in this series and the Captain’s Prize sets us up for that and I’m looking forward to seeing how it all ends.

The Captain’s Prize This is the 5th book in the companion Series written by Tanya. Bird. I have loved every one of them, Tanya writes better and better with each book. You are drawn into the story from the first page. I loved Dion and Astra’s story, I found it very hard to put the story down once I started to read, it was as if l was there with them. I cried, I laughed and was on the edge of my seat all through the story. Tanya you have done it again, another amazing story.

I had insanely high expectations for this novel (I’ve loved every Companion novel) and Tanya exceeded my expectations. This book is beautifully written and will draw you into the Companion world. Astrid and Dion’s love story is compelling and nothing like I’ve read before. Tanya gives us all the ‘feels’ … You’ll laugh, you’ll ball your fists in anger and you’ll cry—but ultimately you’ll smile. If I could give this novel more than five stars I would.

First things first, there's another book coming and that already makes 2020 more amazing. Second, I knew I would finish the book in one day but it took me longer because adulting is a thing and it's relentless . Third, Tanya has my heart and soul with her amazing writing. The characters, the plots, the setting, everything is amazing and there's absolutely nothing tiring in the entire book. Hell, there's nothing tiring in the entire series. Love love love it.
