Sigmund Brouwer takes his novelist eye to the familiar story of Jesus' death and resurrection. The result is powerful and gives us some new things to think about during the familiar week of Easter. Read my full review at Carstairs Considers. This book was given to me by a dear friend many years ago. I always get it out during Holy Week and attempt to read it all the way through. It tells about the last week of Jesus' life on earth. It includes scripture, background information surrounding the events that took place during that week, and beautiful pictures by artists capturing many different Biblical scenes. There are also song lyrics based upon the events of Jesus' last week. It is a beautiful book and this year I finally made it th This book was given to me by a dear friend many years ago. It is a great reminder of what Jesus went through. His humiliation, crucifixion, death, and resurrection. And most of all His great love for us to allow Himself to be slain for our sins.

I read this book when it was published and Sigmund toured with Cindy for her Album "The Loving Kind". It's one of the few books I have read more than 5 times! It brings Christ closer to my heart, and make me value His sacrifice with a real perspective, not as a story, but as a Real sacrifice! I wish it could be translated to other languages!
