A ghastly murder. A serial killer. Fraud. Deadly drugs. Buddha. Put them together and you have a mystery that demands to be solved and bodies to be buried. Women are not supposed to be detectives, but Shook and Stone are determined to prove otherwise. They embark on a mission to stop a serial killer, but soon find themselves deep in a mystery that involves so much more. A ghastly murder. A serial killer. Fraud. Deadly drugs. Buddha. They embark on a mission to stop a serial killer, but soon find themselves deep in a mystery that involves so much more. They will have to deal with men who will want to block them every step of the way. And the worst part is their own fathers refuse to support them. That only leaves them with one choice. One their fathers won't like. And one that even the great Sherlock Holmes will find dangerous. Can two sisters, Shook and Stone Mystery, find enough traction in a world prejudiced against women to become detectives in a male dominated Victorian England? A fun, engaging mystery that dives into the depths of emotional and physical struggles women had to face in the Victorian era of England to stand on their own two feet and be proud. If you like Sherlock Holmes, you're in for a big surprise and lots of fun!

Mystery Detectives - a review by Rosemary Kenny Introducing a most unusual pair of Victorian PIs - no, not Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson, but the Mystery sisters - most unusual for corseted and cosseted ladies and sternly frowned upon by their doting papas. Well, this book was quite different from most of Pirillo's books. In this book, we are introduced to the Mystery Detectives- two mutual twin sisters whose last name is indeed Mystery. The setting is Victorian times, and they go on a case to solve a crime, and so solve it successfully. Sherlock Holmes is also in the book. I think the main aim of this books is to introduce us the readers to these two young women- the Mystery sisters. I think the main aim of this books is to introduce us the readers to these two young women- the Mystery sisters. I like the younger one in that she is free-spirited and daring, but I don't particularly like the other one as she is prim and fastidious, and yet a bit quirky too. I liked this book, just not as much as I've enjoyed other Sherlock Holmes books of Pirillo's. But I'll wait and read the next one about the Mystery Detectives to decide what i think about this new series. Check it out for a good read!
