The Scottish Siren: A McClain Story (The Book Club, #1) by Kirsten Osbourne. The story line, modern 2019 girl travels back in time to 1242 Scotland and marries the seventh son of the Laird and is destined to have seven sons herself, is a good starting point. But this time travel story has been done numerous times by other authors and I was hoping for that extra something that would make this book stand out. Juvenile, but at least the story flowed well. How she was a siren idk. She spends more time with her maid and MIL than her husband.

Ok Not quite what I expected. Love Kirsten's books. She writes so well. This one didn't engage me as much, probably due to the ' old world ' aspect. Still love Dr L and her ways. I know and follow several of the authors creating this world and others are new to me so I’ll get to find some more series to follow through this series. As with any Time Slip/Time Travel adventure, you’ll have to embrace your imagination and leave logic at the opening page – but that’s the fun of this genre. One unique character you’ll meet is the lovely Dr. Lachele, matchmaker extraordinaire. Through a little bit of book magic, this matchmaker will find herself with an ability that many would envy and she sets several ladies on the trip of a lifetime to find their forever love, it just might not be in this particular century. You may recognize Dr. Lachele through the At The Altar series, or other places within Kirsten Osbourne’s worlds. THE SCOTTISH SIREN, the introductory story in this series will find Beth heading out for her book club meeting with several other ladies who simply love to get lost in the pages of a good Romance, each loves a different genre. This particular day Dr. Lachele is visiting their meeting place and soon the magic will begin. Beth has a love for a good Highlander romance and would love to live in that time with her own handsome Scottish Laird. Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. We will also meet the very unique McClain family, or at least their Scottish branch of ancestors. If this is your first experience with the McClain extended family then you’re probably going to want to search out the other stories that they appear in for their unusual talents and abilities make for a truly enjoyable reading experience. I had such fun with Beth and Gavin, actually, the entire McClain Clan were quite entertaining. There’s a lot to take into consideration when dropping in on a time gone by and Beth will have an amazing adventure ahead of her. I’m definitely looking forward to more of this series. I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Awesome new series I was so excited to this new series. I love the idea of time travel and doing it to different themes like mail order brides, westerns and more. While part of this storyline was based on other books by this author, the book can be read as a stand alone. However I would go read all the other seven sons and even the seven daughters books. The are amazing just like all the other series this author does. Kirsten is one of my favorite authors!!! Another winner! As usual, Kirsten Osbourne, with her signature wit; has written another great read! What a great beginning to a series I'm looking forward to reading. The heroine is engaging, the hero is suitably heroic and then....there is Dr. Lachelle! It was also nice to revisit the McClain's. I refuse to spoil a great book by telling all the secrets--that's just mean! However, there's a little magic, time travel and a good romance to make this a book worth reading again and again. Enjoy!! This was a cute little story based on the silliest idea. A woman gets an offer to join a Godmother's group and is given special powers. Which she then uses to send a woman who loves period highland Scottish romances into the past. The laird immediately believes her story of being from the future as does his entire family, with almost no questions asked. So although it's a cute fun little story, please leave believability at the door when you open the book. This was a cute little story based on the silliest idea. Scottish romance I really enjoyed reading this book. I think it would be fun to go back in time and experience how other people lived. And of course going back to men in kilts wouldn't be bad either. I like reading about them claims and all the different powers the Seventh Son. But not sure I would want the responsibilities of them. But it sure is fun to read about make sure you check this book out. Scottish romance I really enjoyed reading this book. Not Bad I enjoyed the story but the writing is unsophisticated and that makes the reading rather jarring. I couldn't read it in one sitting because if that; I had to take breaks. The basic premise is a good one, and a sure fire foundation for a series. Sadly though, characters lacks depth and their dialogue is stilted. Perhaps the writer could take a course improve those elements and her books would be worth a 5 star rating. Like cute romantic time travel It was a cute story. What an interesting idea of reading a book and wishing you could be in that time and place. I have friends that like historical romances, I would recommend this book to them. I also liked how they moved the story along quickly, I don’t care for books that have so much detail that it takes me forever to read it, this book kept my interest . Love epilogues!

Loved, Loved this new series. One of my favorite series from Kirsten Osbourne is the McClaine series. Beth and Gavin are a newlyweds and having a hard time getting to spend time with each other. Gavin the new laird of the clan is called in to help many, taking him away from Beth. This is a quick read, and you will be hooked to continue the series.

A GREAT start to a new series Kirsten has done it again. To take a beloved matchmaker and make her a member of the guild of godmothers allowing her to send matches through time is brilliant. Then to send the first of the women to a Laird of the McClane clan to have seven sons was a great tie in. Can’t wait to read the rest of this series

I was so lost with this book. Maybe I needed to read other books by this author but I kept expecting it to get better. Everything moved so quickly and everyone accepted her fantastical story so easily and no thought to the present day with Kindles being used in the 13th Century, it was a bit disorienting. I suppose it was a fairytale in the end.

Another wonderful story. Kirsten Osbourne has written another fun story in the highlands of Scotland. This is a time travel as well. I thoroughly loved this story with all the business of this clans Laird, and his with from the future. I highly recommend this first story in The Book Club series.

The Scottish Siren Really great start to the new series. Beth loved reading Scottish romances. Lairds in kilts. When she makes a wish, that is exactly where she ends up. When Gavin finds a women laying in the weeds in strange clothing he takes her back to the keep.

Loved the story! The only part that was a bit confusing was how quickly she changed her mind. It just seemed like there should be more explanation. Loved the epilogue! Good read! Great twist on the Godmother idea!
