I really wanted to like this more In my recent quest for a romance novel that is actually romantic, I have not been doing well. This book has all the ingredients: A faithful handsome hero, a sweet honest smart heroine and a baby. It was a very good book and I liked it. Little to no angst and it was safe. But it just wasn't great to me. I actually had to force myself at certain points to continue on. It lacked something for me but I can't put my finger on what it was. I loved the Father and the reconciliation with the hero's Mother, the brother was an entitled jerk but he started growing up in the end and the hero was so so sweet. I loved when he talked to the baby too. It was touching but I just didn't love love it. I think it is just me and I am going to re-read it in the future to see if maybe my sinus headache influenced my review!! Lol. You never know. Weirder things have happened! I do believe my friends will like it too. This is a safe read and in KU. New author for me and I will read her again.

This was a great book and I loved it and was sad when it ended in a cliffhanger. It's the first of a three-part series and the other books are available now. Both of the main characters were sweet souls in many ways but both had family baggage that held them back. Blake and Ashton have explosive chemistry and seem made for each other. In many ways, their relationship is taboo in that he is technically her boss in that his family owns the hotel chain she works for, but he does not disclose that. Lots of drama as he deals with his family issues, a controlling brother, a sick father and lots of business choices. I thought it was a good book that was well-written but seemed a little drawn out and draggy at times. The characters were likable and the story was entertaining.

Wow ... Ms Parker provides her readers with great value in her well written stories. Additionally, she provides her readers with exceptional value for the privilege of reading her prose. I really liked the line, "... it looked to me like their suits wore them instead of the other way around." The imagery this line evoked caused me to laugh out loud. This line was from some of the internal dialogue we are privy to of the main female character. This is an edgy read with lots of emotion exploded out and felt full force by the reader. For the main male character and his familial interchanges, it feels like you are watching a boxing match between the main male character and his elder brother, with their father quite literally in between the explosively verbal bantering of the brothers. Lucky Dad gets to act as a referee. There appears to be some sort of financial sabotage going on along with, perhaps, some unorthodox maneuvering in the family company that all men own and work for. The main female character is also an employee of their company. She meets the main male character at work under misleading actions on his part. There is a spark between these two that is kindled, warmed up and ignited. Their romantic tale is most certainly an eventful and adventuresome one. Well worth the time it takes to read this very good novel! I voluntarily received an advance review copy of this novel and I am leaving an honest and unbiased review. I have no affiliation to this author.

Great book, easy to read.... not such a page turner that I couldn’t put it down however interesting and eventful enough that I wanted to pick it back up when I had time to read more! Aston is my type of girl, she’s focussed, hard working, kind and considerate and dedicated to doing a good job and the right thing as manager of a hotel branch (for the business as well as guests and staff). As a result of her hard work and determination to succeed she’s not had time for relationships at all and no one has ever caught her attention enough to change that... until Blake! Blake is the second son of a billion dollar hotel chain owner. He’s also the CFO and trouble shooter / fixer for his father on the ground level. He keeps a low profile socially and so most people don’t know who he is. He doesn’t use the company jet and doesn’t demand or expect special privileges just because of who he is. He is a genuine nice guy who is also focussed on success and works hard. Unfortunately Blake’s older brother is the polar opposite and to be honest at times I wanted to push my hand through my screen and throttle him myself! I received an advanced readers copy of this book and my review is voluntary and honest. I’m pleased I read the book, it’s a great mix of all that’s good for a great storyline. There are some major ups and downs in there and there are characters to love, hate, envy and adore.

I've read other books by this author under a different pen name and really liked them. This book just didn't do it for me. It was way too long because there were too many dramatic events. Many things didn't make sense. At one point Blake and Aston are in a car, he's driving and she's in the passenger seat. He meets her eyes in the rear view mirror. That only makes sense if she's in the back seat. This is just an example and there are others but I don't want to give any spoilers. One thing leads to another and things heat up between Aston and Blake. When she finds out who he really is, she doesn't even get made although he's misled her. She's an excellent manager and runs the hotel, constantly working, but when she has to leave her friend who works at the front desk with no management experience or education can take over the hotel without a hiccup. One event after another and it just became too much. I liked the characters, but after a while it just felt like the author wanted to keep throwing one thing after the other at them and a lot of behavior doesn't make sense.

He rushes back to help Aston make the necessary changes to get the hotel numbers increased to keep the hotel from cuts and job losses. Blake has to deal with many family issues but it is Aston that helps keep him on track. This is a very sweet love story by Ali Parker and I enjoyed the many threads she was able to weave throughout this story. Enjoyed the characters and family dramatics also. Diane W.

Loved it!!! Omg I would give it 10 stars. I’m so tired of the “I’ve been hurt before, I don’t deserve love, I love you I hate you” books with all the secrets and crap. This book was exactly what I’ve been looking for. Two people who meet and are attracted to each other but don’t immediately fall in love and hop into bed. The only secret is no one in the hotel knew who Blake was and when Aston found out she took the news with surprise but no anger. When they do finally sleep together it is HOT but Loved it!!! Never whiney, bossy or the type to get mad she was strong and knew exactly what she wanted and worked hard for it. Blake was the book boyfriend of all book boyfriends. So good to her and always put her concerns and happiness first without being a stalker or a wimp. Raised to be a good person and it definitely showed. If you love a slow burn without all the baggage and BS then definitely read this book!!! Highly recommend!!!

Working in a hotel one meets people all the time.... and while I appreciate the Concept of meeting someone and spending the night with them, in realty fraternisation with hotel guests is a sure fire way to get fired. Especially spending the night in their hotel rooms, and corporate chains of hotels would be even more rigid with their company policies. Anyway having said that, this was a decent read. This was a big, long emotional roller-coaster filled with ups and downs and a few full-out twists just to make sure you were paying attention. Such a good story! Loved it! Blake and Aston are so sweet and cute together. His family runs a chain of hotels. She manages one of their locations. And she’s great at it! When it looks like cuts need made Blake is there at Astons hotel to see if he can help her save it. From the first time they meet, sparks fly. She doesn’t have time for men, fun or relationships and he is all business. Its fun to see the story unfold and how these two bring out the best in each other. Great story!!

Not like other stories you’ve read A fantastic story with great character depth and a solid foundation to the story of Blake and Aston. Not your typical rich guy, this story is not like some cookie cutter storyline that fells like a repeat with just different characters. Ali gave life to Blake and Aston in a way that lets the reader fell a connection to the characters. Read through Kindle Unlimited

Grrrrr Okay. I hate it when you start a new series ...and it is under Kindle Unlimited then books 2&3 are $2.99 each. It is not worth paying $6 for two books that will only take a couple of hours to read. I really enjoyed this book. But #1 I will not read the next two books #2 I will not be reading anymore from this author. Right off the bat I hate Tiffany. So self absorbed. Lousy work ethic.

I hate cliffhangers! I normally look at the last page of a book before I read it, but unfortunately I didn’t do that this time. I would have given this book 4 or 5 stars if not for it being a cliffhanger. It’s my opinion that authors who write stories that don’t end are being totally unfair to their readers. Why should we be forced to buy the next book in order to get the end of the story? I’ll never read another book by this author!

Excellent five star! An excellent five star love story. The story was well written and mostly good reading. I was most interested in the development of the story line, the one thing that bothered me was the overplayed sex after a few secions of sex it become boring and I just skipped over these pages.

A great read for my first Ali Parker book. Blake and Aston were an immediate connection. Alike in so many ways. Business trumped everything and that drive was there for them both. What they didn’t expect was the attraction, the spark. A beautiful story that follows the ups and downs, the pains and struggles and the heat and beauty of their romance. Great story.

Not what I consider a real book ... I really enjoyed the characters and the plot. And I did get it for free on Amazon. My issue is the the story didn’t have a conclusion. It was like a show on tv that ends with a cliffhanger. But in my opinion it wasn’t really a book, more like just part of a story. I probably would have given it 5 stars if it had a reasonable conclusion.

Really? This book was tooo freaking long. Good story. Great characters but entirely too long. I don’t need a description of the waves, the airplane or the streets of NYC. If looking for a long read, this is it. A short read, nope.

Hold your breath The storyline is awesome, I know family can be crazy but this is twisted. Being only part one is tough to take. The characters really make the story, they're almost down to earth except for deceit. Hold your breath The storyline is awesome, I know family can be crazy but this is twisted.
