Until now, she never needed anyone...and then she met Doc.
For Sergeant Major Jason Lee Gordon, codename Doc, a Green Beret medic in a tight-knit special operations group, life happened, and he rolled with it. The easy-going charmer only ever had to flash his dimples and women lined up outside his door, already half in love with the caring Doc. But casual hookups were growing old after seeing his friend and team leader, Outlaw, fall in love. He’d begun to think he’d never find his special someone until a sniper ambush brings him to a quiet, troubled nurse.
Focused on her own pain, she is unimpressed by the handsome soldier’s overtures, ignoring him as she worries what will become of her, of her career, and Pooch. But instead of being put off when she rebuffs him, he finds himself more intrigued, especially after overhearing Leisl pouring out her heart to a stray dog. Disturbed by her plight, he can’t walk away. Something about her pulls him in and Doc begins an all-out charm offensive to win over the red-haired nurse.
When the base is attacked by terrorists and his mission goes south, events unfold leading to secrets, old and new, that can tear apart their budding relationship. Can Doc accept her past and convince her to fight for a future together?

Loved! This counts for Emma and Nate's story as well as, Leisl and Jason's! These are the first two books I know I have read of Michele E. Gwynn's. That's not saying Ms Gwynn, I haven't read others, but I read these back to back, and both had it all! First of all, love the competition between the two of special forces, personally fond of the Army's, since I am a widow of a Special Force and Ranger Major (😢), unusual to have both, but an unusual man I miss every day! So often when reading these novels I wish to question him, but when alive, his joke always was, if I told you I have to kill you. I understood he couldn't talk about where, what's, and when, just like the women in the books you have written. But Leisl, being Army, did have some insight into what Jason delt with... Seriously, Both well written and books that keep you enthralled to the last page, and beyond, Fatima's story cannot come quick enough, and here spring is just beginning, while I wish my life away for the next installment! So thrilled you are part of the Special Forces authors... If Susan Stokes endorses, I have yet to be disappointed! But you, Ms Gwynn, totally hooked me into both books! Absolutely a joy to read! Wow Loved this story. You get all the feels! You get the guys from the previous story with drop ins from wolf and his crew as well as Tex. Slowly we see info on Eastwood’s injury and possible mythical wounded warriors group (spin off series) when he disappears from a Germany hospital. Leisls story is sad and hard but she takes power back with the help of doc. And she opens up and acquires a family in the process. And pooch !!! Yayyy. Can’t wait for next book and Eastwood’s spin off.

Excellent!!! A perfect story. Wow! This was excellently written. A perfect story to read on a sleepless night, like I have. There's enough action you don't want to put it down. There's plenty of heartwarming romance and there is sexual content, but really not much so it doesn't detract from the story. There are some new characters along with some old familiar faces. I tried several times to put this down to get some sleep, couldn't do it. But it's alright, a beautiful adventure awaits the readers Excellent!!! A perfect story. Wow! This was excellently written. Well crafted story of Green Berets & Seals This story was given a rating of 4 due to well-planned, construction of the storyline. It combines several different military groups very efficiently. Bottom line, is that it was a very enjoyable story that had an additional draw for me, the relationship between Leisl & the dog she had adopted while she was assigned to Medical base overseas.

SLOW MOVING STORY BUT CAPTIVATING The story begins with a military nurse who just learns of a painful diagnosis. Alone and scared, she tries to figure out what happens next. like she waits for word about her surgery, she meets Doc who happens to be part of a Green Beret Team. Their attraction is almost mutually immediate. They begin a long range relationship as he returns to rescue his Team and she in turn goes to his home town and family to recuperate.

Wow! This book had everything, lots of action, when Doc meets Leisl I went through so many emotions. I laughed when the guys were cutting up and I cried for Leisl when she was talking to Poosh. Ghost, Wolf,Tex were there and others from Susan's world. Leisl has strength and courage which I liked. Also I liked that Michele gave us info on a new group that even Tex can't find. Waiting for the next book from this author. Wow! This book had everything, lots of action, when Doc meets Leisl I went through so many emotions. An excellent second story in Ms. Gwynn's Green Beret series inside Susan Stoker's world (Special Forces: Operation Alpha). I received this book as an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. My review is I cried! So emotional and still action-packed. This is a longer book than the first, Rescuing Emma, and I can see there will be more....a third book in the series! Gwynn captures the sweetness of first love, all the passion, and all the uncertainty. I love Doc and Leisl. You will too. Fantastic story with a well developed characters. Leisl was such a great character and I really felt for her and her situation. Jason was a wonderful caring man. This story had lots of action and a great plot. Loved the chemistry and the steam. Secondary characters were also so well developed that I will be adding this author to ones I follow and read. Loving Leisl When Doc brought a team mate to a medical base for treatment he doesn't expect to find the perfect 'red head girl' of his dreams. The road ahead is anything but easy, however Leisl has not had an easy road since she was a small child. Great story but with a few dark areas. Jason and Leisl met at the military hospital. He has always had a thing for redheads. Leisl had a tough upbringing but is now a nurse in the army. She also just got some really bad news. Jason wants to be with her every minute but when he runs into Wolf and Abe, he knows he needs to go with them. Will she be in Colorado waiting for him?

An excellent book. Leisl was an army nurse stationed in Kuwait when she found out she had a terrible illness. She was worrying about leaving Pooch behind. She also meets "doc" a Green Beret" medic. There is a lot going on in this book. Budding love, danger, missions, terrible injuries. This was a very good story with lots of background and assignments. Book 2 Doc and Leisl's story, insta love but the author makes it seem plausible. Lots of action, drama but also romance. This book also sets up a spin off series as well that looks promising. On my god!!! So good!!! Packed full of action, thrills, romance, and love! Don't miss this second Green Beret book. You should start with Emma's story as these books are better if read in order. It's ok I read the first book in this series and fell in love. However this book seemed to be missing the punch, action that I was expecting. Mediocre at best. This story is a good one but the writing is poorly done. Boring. The characters are good. I won't be buying any more of her work. Mediocre at best. Army nurse meets Green Beret. Add in terrorist, a camp mutt, a brain tumor and you have an entertaining story with a nice romance and a happy ending.

Sergeant Leisl Craig spent her life fighting for everything she'd earned, alone. Then came cancer. She meets Sergeant Major Jason Lee Gordon aka Doc, an easy-going Green Beret medic in a tight-knit special operations group. Doc takes an interest in Leisl when he hears her pouring her heart out to a stray dog but Leisl is unimpressed. Doc takes it upon himself to convince her of his intentions, proving to her, time and again, that he will never leave her side. This was, for me, a heartbreaking story reminicent of Susan Stoker's Truck and Mary. Like Mary, Leisl was strong, doing her best to cope with the shitty circumstances that life had in store for her. Thank goodness that she had Doc and his family to show her that she need not feel so alone, that there were people willing cary her n her time of need. Through Loving Leisl, Michele E. Gwynn reminds us, her readers, that there will always be "light at the end of the tunnel," and that we should always have faith even when we are seemingly faced with obstacle after obstacle. She reminds us to be strong, like Leisl. I thank the author for this reminder, and she will definitely on my list of authors to follow.
