Learn about authentic Tibetan magical practices, including: tumo, the ability to stave off the cold by stimulating the chakras and energy channels of the body; light trance states to recall past lives; manipulation of energies via sound, rhythm, chanting, and drumming; and the spiritual practice of dream yoga. J. H. Brennan, respected author of numerous books on the Western Esoteric Tradition, has long been fascinated by Tibetan mysticism and magic. This book is black magic that will make sure you are stuck in this matrix for demons/archons to feed off of you. In order to gain certain powers one must manifest a demon ( Yidam) with his mind, perform Chod ceremony and give his body up to a wrathful disgusting "goddess" to disembowel and devour! Of course, when you google these practices, monks state that people like me have "misunderstood"! Who are you fooling!!? Any practice/visualization/ritual that does not align with Beauty and Self-Love is not from the Source. The book mostly covered new age concepts which most readers already know.Such as chakras, lucid dream, dream worlds, reincarnation, and death. I'd say 15% of the book gives you a perspective on Tibetans' occult. If you want to skip reading this book google the following words to learn a bit about the culture. Phurba, Chojung doctrine, singing bowls, sonic sounds( Tibetans used to levitate blocks of stones),Jigten Chagtsul, tumo (generating body heat with the mind),tulpa (thought forms coming alive),Dzopa tribe (they came for Sirius), Alexandra David-Neal (she wrote many books on the occult of tibet).

A bit misleading for the beginner. Vajrayana requires years of hard study and practice.

Although I enjoyed this book I felt that it couldn’t decide between being a history lesson and an instructional book. I wish the references about the scientific evidence was from the papers themselves or scientific journals. The author uses other new age books as references and I have found that some new age books use psychic visions as fact. Being a psychic does not change my feeling that when studying history and science one should stay in this world, or at least be very specific about the ref Although I enjoyed this book I felt that it couldn’t decide between being a history lesson and an instructional book. Also, I now know that Tibetan Buddhism is not for me. I don’t think I could handle Chod. Chod is a ceremony where you go to a highly haunted location then “invoke” a mean looking Goddess. She cuts your head off and disembowels you. She then calls demons to feast on your flesh. This is all a deep meditation exercise but some have gone mad from the experience. Hmmm, imagine that. Overall the book was fascinating but I think all of the meditation exercises are just too much for me. But I am going to look into a tribe that is discussed in the book.

I quite literally picked up this book while gazing through shelves at the library. It was quite an interesting account of Tibetan lifestyle and various religious practices involving yoga, dream understanding and meditation. Just something different to read....
