There are things I wholeheartedly enjoyed, such as the relationship of the characters, especially of the family Blackthorn and the friends who surrounds them. Also, I love that the book has more diversity and the representation doesn't feel cheap or lacking. I do, however, think is weaker than other series because (1) there is an open ending and as a consequence (2) many things are leave in the open. I do understand that this series is the prequel of what will become the last series of the Shadowhunters Chronicles, The Wicked Powers, but I think that while the other sagas The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices where able to close with a proper ending, The Dark Artifices leave many things in the open to feel fulfill. Nevertheless, I am curious enough to see what happens next!

OMG what a beautiful and completely brilliant series.. Emma and Julian as well as kieran, Mark and Christina and not to forget Livvy, Ty and Kit!!! They all made this story so gorgeous so perfect. Being transported to their world was amazing. Such beautiful captivating writing. Biggest 5 stars for this one

This is a cute collection of fairy tales re-imagined, but if you aren't up to date on everything, you may need to remember previous books in order to get the references made. I wish there was a bit more detail each of the beautiful illustrations. Each one only has a sentence to explain the tale, and I really would have like about 2-3 paragraphs. If you got this, it's cute and definitely worth keeping. If you missed out, you really aren't missing much. my thoughts in + and - are basically + yessss. Clearly a great story. Loved being in the shadowhunter world again. Sassy (and oh so many) characters, intricate storylines, and the last book was 36 hours worth of audiobook and that I actually listened to it all says A LOT. - that said, though, I've re-read it once and determinedly skipped only to the parts I liked. - well, the characters. It's inevitable that as someone who's read all other of CC's books I've quite started to feel as if I recogniz my thoughts in + and - are basically + yessss. Clearly a great story. Loved being in the shadowhunter world again. Especially in the dialogue - come on, how much witty banter can a book take, when everyone's witty banter sounds vaguely the same?
