I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Brown at a signing/discussion I was attending for class credit. He was really interesting and knowledgeable, and I ended up buying this book because I thought it sounded so cool. It was 100% worth it—his years as a journalist are evident in his writing style, which reads more like a report than a novel and makes for a fast-paced read. I learned a lot about Tuscaloosa’s history and I’d recommend it to anyone that’s interested.
