Wow. This is one amazing story. Emily has to travel across the ocean and knows help is no longer as fast. You begin to think you have it solved, and realize you’re wrong. Ready for the next book.

The only thing predictable about Will O’Day’s books is the reader will be taken for an emotional roller coaster ride. Just when you think you have things figured out, and begin to relax he slams you with a twist or turn that shouldn’t have been there. The Extinction Crisis series has all the great parts of a dystopian story arc, but it includes characters who are flawed people and very believable, in some ways like your neighbors probably. If you haven’t read any of the related short stories or Sole Prey you probably want to read them first to understand The who, what and why of this series. Hopefully, book 3 will be arriving in the near future. I received an Advance Review Copy and chose to provide this review.

I usually don’t read this genre but I’m part of this authors advanced team and the first book in this series was so good I was looking forward to the second book. I was not disappointed. This book is a real page turner. It’s fast paced and very action packed. If it were a movie I would have fallen off my seat. There are quite a mix of characters, some are caring, some are cruel but they all want to survive the horrors that they are going thru. I would recommend that you read the first in the series to get a full understanding of the story line and some of the characters. Again you will not be disappointed. I enjoy this authors work. I’ve even read his children’s books. I would recommend those too to the young and to the young at heart.

Yeah, Chaos really says it. Life is a train wreck for these poor people. I was shocked by the choices of the underground scientist team, and their proposed solution to these many problems. It really sets up the next book nicely. I can't wait to read it. I found the "bad guy" to be a bit over the top, as is often the case in post-apocalyptic books, but it was no so far outside the realm of possibility that it ruined the books for me. I hope in the next book we get a bit more of his story, to make that character more three dimensional. My only other minor complaint is that only top-tier predators seem to come through the gates. With a small target like the time gates, it would be more likely that smaller animals would come through in abundance. Gore warning

Have to be honest I could not set the book down ended up reading it in one day. The author not only bring the characters alive but makes the readerfeel he is one of the characters. Something to think about!

I read this almost a year after finishing book one of this series, but it didn't take me long to get reacquainted with all the central characters. It is a great book and could be re-read for a great experience.

After the initial shock and devastation of the Nuclear attacks of World War III, those left alive are faced with dwindling supplies and loss of services and conveniences we all take for granted. Compound these losses with the arrival of prehistoric animals through a dimensional gate opened by scientists trying to perfect time travel, and life on earth may never be the same. The characters from Book 1 who have gone to Kodiak Alaska to try to win a million dollars find themselves chased by local profiteers, megalodons from the past and even huge sharks when a WWIII EMP event destroys life as they know it. Book 2 of the Extinction Crisis series jumps straight back onto the emotional rollercoaster. Our main protagonists lurch from one nail-biting crisis to another. As you would expect with the end of the world looming, crazy sociopaths running amok, oh and prehistoric monsters roaming the land and ocean. Hard to put down, the fast paced action keeps you glued right to the end. Roll on installment 3! Great work Mr Oday.

It's been a while since I was so excited reading a book. Usually you know that the main character will make it through to the end. But William Oday has a few main characters in this blockbuster! And you don't know who is going to die next! The brutality is very raw, so some people may want to be informed of it. This is one that deserves a "6" star rating, and I sure hope he has started on #3. It's been a while since I was so excited reading a book. This second book had a lot of action though, at times, I had trouble following some of it. The very brutal crazed contestant was bad enough but prehistoric creatures too? I worried a lot about Oscar. For some reason, I noticed more writing errors in this one as well. Toward the end, the story reminds me of Star Trek: The Original Series episode "All Our Yesterdays." I will likely continue to see what happens if this Project Hermes thing doesn't end up being too silly or unbelievable. While this isn't a usual genre for me, it is so good. Oday is able to make it so exciting that I simply couldn't put it down. I had to read the whole thing in one sitting. Surviving it a post-apocalyptic world is hard when all the morals seem to have gone away. Only those who are willing to struggle for survival will be able to stay alive. But will it be enough or will the nuclear disaster that has happened be the end of mankind. While this isn't a usual genre for me, it is so good. A WOD. SYFY. Novel (ECB. - 2) WOD. has. penned A SYFY. novel. That begins, at first, to be mass confusion going in all directions until he writes about the different gates in time. Unfortunately, the first few attempts ended in absolute terror, especially the door with the Neanderthal bear. A bear 13 foot tall weighing 4000 pounds will get your attention in a hurry. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

Chaos. It's a bumpy ride for the residents of Kodiak after the events of book one, because of course not everyone has a good heart. Action, emotion, and Oscar. Chaos. Oday does it again! Sole Chaos is an excellent second offering in his Extinction Crisis Series. I was a bit hesitant when I first read Sole Survivor, as post apocalyptic sci-fi usually isn't my thing, but that story gripped me in some way, and I couldn't wait to see how it progressed. Well, Sole Chaos is even a bit more gripping, and I can't wait to see what he does with further installments, as the story line offers a multitude of directions that the future story could go.
