At least they’ve all kissed her because even THAT took awhile. I may be harsh with my words but please, we are all thinking it sisters! Book one was F I R E with the anticipation. Book two was a lot like what I think men feel during blue balls. Book three... Well, at least some of my questions are answered and the men aren’t all fighting her. And they seem to cement their bonds through words. The plot was decently engaging. But let’s be honest. Morgan sounds a little lifeless in this book. It’s the same shit over and over. “I have to distance myself from them because I have to protect them. Oh, and they can’t protect me.” THE. LOGIC. ???????????????? JUST SCREW THEM ALREADY MORGANA. I changed her name. The extra syllable sounds better when I’m internally yelling at her in frustration. In seriousness, I would like to say the book was good and Morgan got better as it went by. I’m just ready for a little more oomph. I’m not asking for much. We’ve had enough love declarations. We get it. They love each other. Whatever. Book 4 better be orgasm after orgasm. Starting with Atlas, please. Atlas, you make my world go ‘round.

I felt like there should’ve been 4 books to the series? I was a little disappointed that this book went half way through almost as a repeat of the second. The guys are leaving her out of hunts, she feels left out, they feel protective... It felt like they had that worked out at the end of book two but here we are again... I also wanted more development in their relationships. Everyone seemed scared of touching each other again. I don’t know, good series but the last left me a bit disappointing.

A little disappointed. (Spoiler Alert! )I really liked these characters, and loved the previous books. But I had hoped that by book 3 the steam level would have increased. But there is still no consummation between Morgan, and Any of her Mates! Also this whole storyline seems to culminate into Morgan, and her men turning into glorified royal babysitters! After finishing this book I fondly looked back at the review I wrote for the first book in this series, how thrilled I had been to find a decent RH book that checked every box only to be overwhelmed but still hopeful with the second book. Claimed By the Assassins doesn't even feel like it was on the same wavelength as the other books. The first chapter pretty much sums up the whole range of interaction between Morgan and her guys throughout the book. It's like the same things are repeated in different words over and over no matter which guy she talks with. The guys' POVs are the same lovesick puppy inner monologues to make them anything memorable. I felt no progress in their relationship, no varying dynamics despite some perfect opportunity to create friction with the whole Draven situation. The characters themselves are so.. flat. Except for few scenes, Morgan was otherwise bland and dull. I don't know where her spunk and badass persona vanished. It would have been nice to see more scenes with her magic as it wasn't really explored. All of her guys were one dimensional, nothing beyond being Morgan's mates. Honestly it was sad to see such underwhelming utilisation of paranormal characters that had so much potential. The plot itself felt like a rough sketch of something that has yet to be finessed into a polished story. Big things that were the selling point like the Wild Hunt was vague at best with the whole huntsmen thing. A deadly challenge that automatically has a time out every day when the sun rises, what? Where's the continuity and what's the fun in that? After being overwhelmed last time with so many different location settings for the story, this book did the complete opposite where I really felt the lack of location exploring with nothing moving beyond the Academy, a club or a rundown farmhouse. The veil was cool but then again it's not really explored in this book beyond the short scenes. The action was alright but each of these bad dudes they faced all three days of this challenge just never made me care, even the sea queen who is the ultimate bad bitch for this book. How am I supposed to care when there were like two scenes with this queen? No buildup towards issuing the challenge and then afterwards, no interaction between her and Morgan practically till the end chapters. The shallowness with these supposedly evil characters just doesn't invoke the feelings that should be felt while reading their fight scenes. The resolution was honestly lacklustre for me, be it the altruistic one with the King or the short-lived end fight against the Vikings. I didn't feel like it was that impactful and it was again made cringe worthy with the whole sappy word exchange with her guys after the fight is over. Also we don't move beyond kisses and hugs even in this book, like what are we waiting for?

Good Ok so this was an improvement since book 2 but please please let their be some action with her men in book four. The burn can’t get any slower at this point. I will admit that I had forgot some things about this series, but once I got into this book, things started coming back to me. I do like Morgan and her guys a lot. This is more a plot based series, it has action and will keep you entertained. I am a little disappointed that there is no sexy times yet and this is book three. I hope that part picks up in the next book.

AND! I felt like the author was setting up to more mates when Morgan first entered the guys dorm and there were 10 rooms (9 mates mayhaps?) One more mystery mate to come??! 5. Can the dorms get a goddamn make over? More comfort and personality? I mean how's anything steamy meant to happen on uncomfortable cots with thin mattresses and other minimum amount of furniture. How are they meant to hang out together in the main room when there is only seating space for a few of them? Agh I hate when authors make rooms, clothes and food bland and repetitive. Come on use your imagination. There is NO limit! Go crazy!! 6. Sex. Christ sakes woman, this is an adult book. A REVERSE HAREM. I appreciate that it didn't dive straight to smutty b.s and that they built there relationships on actual connections but come on time to make so other types of connections already. Anyways isn't sex meant to be the way to complete the bond completely? Weren't the guys ready to murder Atlas when he went into full mating mode or whatever, to stop Morgan from making a commitment she was rushed into and gave a bit if blood instead? Also if they dont start getting together now I feel like its gonna get real awkward with her jumping between the guys one after the other with no time in between making less of a connection instead of more. Unless there is never going to be any s.s at all, then meh. Side note, I really hate the covers. Anyone else noticed that this books cover makes Morgan look like she's got a lazy eye? Lips are a little to full, eyebrows to much, eyes to little and jaw line too broad? IMOA

I'm a bit underwhelmed by this book. It really felt that not a lot of forward movement happened, not a lot of resolutions came about, plots didn't feel wrapped up and I'm just not really see why the King would agree to what they agreed to. Originally the author had meant for this to be the last book in the series and this really does not feel like a last book at all. She has announced her editor would like another book so there is going to be a 4th, I'm wondering if it will feel like an ending. I'm a bit underwhelmed by this book. Fight for love Morgan is a fighter through and through. Nothing has come easy for her, including love. I really enjoyed what she was willing to do to keep Draven. I was worried that they were acting like mates even though they weren't marked. There was a bonus chapter that had an adorable event between them. Morgan knows the guys are pulling away and trying to protect, but she doesn't need, she needs to learn and to help keep them safe. But when someone comes with one her mates, she will do what is needed to protect him. This book was really interesting. I liked it, but I was also a little annoyed with how the guys treated her. 5 stars This series really is unbelievably good. I love all the main characters, side characters, and storyline. Each guy is very distinct, which some authors have difficulty writing. I will say this book needs some more editing (misspelled/misused words mainly) but it wasn’t enough to take me out of the story too much. Also, the ending felt vary abrupt. Didn’t really set anything up for the next book. That being said, I really do highly recommend this series.

Unless you count her essentially mauling one of them back to life? Idk i just did amazing on the action side of things but the love side and group dynamic issues were ehhh i mean i feel like she got more quality scenes with harper and breanna than the guys which i love breanna and harper is less of a hoe so i can tolerate her and try to forget her said hoeness but reverse harem here people! Need more happy loving and less drama drama drama. Correct me with im wrong but wasnt it established last book that they were gonna be a team and not shut out their mate? I mean if you not gonna do any love scenes make it a highschool or younger series not adults. And flowery long speeches and confessions while sprinkled in are good especially for the emptionally constipated few of them but actions speak louder than words and are way better id much rather they have more affectionate time one on one time even group dates at some travelling magic carnival or jesus SOMETHING that is romance cause idk the title CLAIMED by the assassins speaks of more romantic vibes than anything else and idk i guess i was hoping for actual claiming and cementing of the bonds rather than a new tattoo which while very cute scene and probs my fav from the book wasnt enough yay were all happy and peaceful lets fo have an orgy or something lol (that was a joke was not expecting orgy but was expecting something anything between each of them one on one i mean i read adult romance for a reason no angsty highschool drama bs is the main reason and also the romance is real and proper soulmate stuff and not oh lets play spin the bottle and get told off at school for kissing or having to keep the bedroom door open when were in eachothers rooms nonsense ya feel?)

3.5/5 Stars Claimed by the Assassins is the 3rd book the the Academy of Assassins series by Stacey Brutger. This particular installment pits Morgan and her guys against the "bitch Queen", that is the sea queen. Like the other two books, this is full of action and magic and what seems like non-stop danger. I will be honest and say, a part of me wants more of a slow down to focus on Morgan and the guys, working on their relationships, on her magic, just having some time to breathe. I did like that there does seem to be an improvement regarding their communication with each other. Even as Morgan still struggles with realizing the whole trusting the guys with her life and not willing to put their lives at risk - yeah that's a two way street. But definitely improved on that front, I was glad they were more willing to work together than just her making decisions to protect the guys and vice versa. We also get to meet a new Ally and friend in Breanna, the Banshee (setting up to have her own mates). As well as some returning characters. Loki will always be a favorite! As well as Stanley! We also get to meet the King, as well as ironing out some little political details regarding Morgan, her future and really the future of a lot of characters who are tied to her. This one does feel a bit more rushed, especially in regards to Morgan's magic. I feel like she still hasn't really learned control, just flies by the seat of her pants, instinct and pure luck. You build and build tension, mistery, power and she becomes a royal babysitter! Of couse the queen of the school, btw such a high school complex. I liked Brenna creepy girl, until she takes Morgan's mates. Why? Can't the girl be just a friend? Why compete and take the guys that already are completed enganged? It feels like Morgan's mates are the most weak males and she the most powerful girl, wich makes the whole thing lose all the sense. She's a hunter, but she doesn't hunt anymore, her mates are holding her (problem), gets no resolution. She had become so dependable so fast, it's not even realistic. Would be ok if she really had become a queen, so stop to hunt and fight, since she already know, and learn to rule. Makes sense but no. Why give her so much power if in the end she will just be what she already are. It's like make her special to catch atention and then "oh she is not anymore", lets go back for the first book in it's firt moments and put some popularity, that's the prize for this whole saga. A fenix, a dragon dog, royal god power so she can do what she is doing for years. It's like the author decides that she don't want this project anymore. Tired of thinking or something. Why Brenna is living with her and her mates? They will never had sex? Will she share's them all? The girl's only job it's to see people die and not interfere, why she needs a mate? Are Mates not for protection? It's soulmate now, but only girls have more than one? So all the concept of the first book, lost. This author had potencial but lost her track. The only reasons this book and the next had good rating is because people only wants sex scenes and don't care, or people don't think it's worth an opinion.

The series is well written and while I enjoyed the first two books I don't think I'm going to finish the third one. And as much as I agree with her she does it to herself becuase she never just puts her foot down and when she does the guys don't listen they just bulldoze right over all of her decisions claiming to know what's best for her. Then instead of putting the supernatural wammie on them and getting them to acctually listen to what she has to say she goes along with it. It's annoying, not cute, not endearing just annoying, it gives the impression that she has no voice in the group. Except for a few extremely steamy kisses there is nothing that suggest they should be her harem. They don't spend time with her unless she forces herself along or just shows up durring dangerous times. They all have secrets they refuse to tell her even when it should be the next logical move for the plot and they are all emotionally distant. Ninety percent of the book is her harem being angry at her because she's trying to protect them or help them or just spend time with them. I don't know if it'll get better by the end of the book or in the next book but I can't see myself sitting trough another book of her arguing and struggling to be heard while her 'harem' are complete tools and ignore everything that makes her an interesting character. She would honestly be better of mating with a bunch of rocks since they'll be less emotionally distant than the guys.

Don't get me wrong, there were many good parts to the book, and when she's not talking about her guys she still kicks ass. the second half of the book does improve somewhat, but Morgan just turned me off too much for me to give a 5 star rating (like I gave the first book).

An enjoyable read all in all. Good : we learn more about some characters, and we get nyroduced to interesting new ones. The main mated team finally gets their heads out of their asses and start to work together. Bad: poor writing. The grammar is definitely better than the first book, but it's still not stellar. Vocabulary is not very varied and very repetitive ("the starch goes out of her spine" appears so many times). Descriptions are both lacking and too detailed. We know a lot about characters' clothes, and hair, but very little about where they are for example. Narration is so confusing. I don't know if it's because there are so many plot lines (to the point of feeling like side quests), or because the author is just unable to channel her ideas into a coherent unit. I'm honestly considering lowering my rating to 2.5 just because of the quality of the text. It would do great for the story to get bêta-read into a smooth, coherent whole.

Almost missed this one since it wasn’t synced up on Amazon. After the 2nd book I was gonna wait but decided to go for it hoping this one would redeem the series. Gotta say I don’t like the cover. It was better than the previous book with things more stable. Still void monsters to mount Olympus to the wild hunt. At this point I’m not gonna be surprised at what comes next. For me what makes the story is the guys. I love each of them, although the focus of this one is Draven. New characters but I l Almost missed this one since it wasn’t synced up on Amazon. I think the only bit I didn’t like was the melodramatic sacrificial farewells and the constant declarations of love. They’re covered in binding marks, I would’ve thought that would’ve been enough. Favourite character was Mal. The series has its ups and downs but I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next.
