3 stars I've been in a Christmasy reading mood and I love this cover, so I thought I'd give Jaci Burton a try. This is my first book by her and I enjoyed it. The Matchmaker's Misteltoe Mission follows a matchmaker named Alice and a rancher named Clay. It was sweet, steamy, and cute. It was also very insta-lovey, but it was a nice Christmas romance. 3 stars I've been in a Christmasy reading mood and I love this cover, so I thought I'd give Jaci Burton a try. 2.5/5 Stars If you're looking for a cheesy romance to read this Christmas, then go for it because this is the novella for you! Overall the story made sense and I wasn't bothered by the insta-love since I know it's only a short novella and the time for the plot is quite limited. I just didn't like how everything was resolved at the end, it was just a bit out of the blue for me. 2.5/5 Stars If you're looking for a cheesy romance to read this Christmas, then go for it because this is the novella for you! I love this couple and the holiday background just makes the story that much better. The characters that were introduced were awesome and it was a great setup to the series going forward. 3.5 stars - I love me some Jaci Burton holiday romances, and while this is not my favorite of her Christmas novellas, it is definitely full of her usual charm. While I think the stage setting for what will clearly be a new series coming from her set on this vineyard was a little clunky, the chemistry between the two main leads carried the day so I bumped it up a half star on that strength. The Matchmaker’s Mistletoe Mission was a cute, fun, easy, entertaining, holiday based novella that carries all the charm of Jaci Burton’s full length novels. Especially since the only person he wants is Alice. Overview ➸ POV - 3rd Person, alternating between Alice and Clay's POV ➸ Alice Weatherford - LA native, Matchmaker, Maid of honor in her best friends wedding ➸ Clay Henry - Oklahoma, Rancher ➸ Content Warnings: None My Thoughts This just didn't do it for me unfortunately. This had some really cute moments! But overall I didn't jive with the writing or the overall plot. I thought the chemistry and "relationship" between the two main characters was actually really sweet. I felt the connection between them and really liked the glimpses into their slice of life moments. But this was way, way too insta-lovey for my taste. I'm also for insta-attraction but when characters are dropping the L word after a couple of days and minimal contact I can't get on board. I also found the dialogue to be really awkward and unnatural feeling. I was also so aware of these being words on a page rather than getting pulled into a story. There were so many repeated unnatural conversations - honestly the first 20-30 pages of this is just a new character being introduced and them making the same comment on the weather. Character names were overused in dialogue, and overall this story just felt never flowed or felt real to me. Also, the main conflicts were completely self-imposed which was so frustrating as a reader. I wanted to shake the heroine at times. Unfortunately I don't think this series is for me, and I don't plan on continuing on. I do think this had some great Christmas-y vibes if you're looking for something to quick this holiday season. But overall I didn't love or jive with this. Review also shared on my blog!

For Alice and Clay it was love at first sight, or should I say lust at first sight. These two really want each other. Not that Alice will admit it at first. In fact, she offers her services up as a matchmaker just so she doesn't act on her feels. Silly girl. I really like Clay he's smart and hard-working and very sweet. He's willing to whatever it is to make her happy which shows just how much he cares. She feels the same way. They are just perfect for each other. Nothing keeps these two apart. And finally, Alice and Clay act on their feels. It's not an easy road. There are a few bumps along the way. When they finally talk, really talk they are able to smooth things out. Due to the fact that this is less than 200 pages, the story moves quickly but I felt it was well-written so that helps with how fast the story moves. Well worth reading for the holidays. The Matchmaker's Mistletoe was a quick holiday romance about falling in love when you least expect it. A professional matchmaker, Alice Weatherford, finds herself in Oklahoma for her best friend's wedding. She arrives a week early to make sure everything is going according to plan. When she arrives, she witnesses a snowstorm that forces her to stay on the Bellini property. That's when she meet Clay. He is a hunky rancher who she automatically sees as her next project/client. She wants to help him find the love of his life. Clay is captivated by her presence. He wants to know this woman but isn't sure if he should put himself out there. Alice and Clay have so much in common and are getting along really well. One kiss makes brings their instant chemistry to life and they can't go back to just being friends. They should be a couple, right? Well, they have different things to consider...one being they don't live in the same state. So many things are working against them, so will love conquer all? Overall, I give The Matchmaker's Mistletoe Mission 3.5 stars. It was short and sweet. The characters were AMAZING and loved the familial aspect of the story.

If you've read Sarina Bowen's True North series and enjoyed the Shipleys, I have a feeling the Bellinis are gonna be just as entertaining as a crew. Already added The Best Man Plan, book one in the series, to my TBR. 3.5 stars

Fortunately, she is not the only one taking refuge ... enter the very presentable Clay, from the next ranch over. Oh, we know pretty quickly that these two are destined to be together, but matchmaker Alice has others in mind for him - after all she is all about LA. The dance they do is highly enjoyable, and I recommend this latest book from the highly talented Jaci Burton.

It is just so cute! I also was intrigued by the synopsis because anything with matchmaking I am here for. That is where one of my expectations fell short at. It seemed that Alice would try to set him up and she did once but he never even went out with the person. As for the plot, it just didn’t live up to what I expected from the synopsis. I liked the idea of it but it just wasn’t executed well. It also felt a bit rushed. The plot is just very much based around the insta-lust between Alice and Clay and that is why it just wasn’t for me. The relationship between Alice and Clay wasn’t very believable. They shared a week together and although they discussed what they wanted out of life, there wasn’t much of them getting to know one another. I know that others wouldn’t find this as a problem and maybe its just me. I just like things to be realistic, you know? The setting is very cool and I was here for the snowy/holiday atmosphere. It gets you in the mood to sit by a fire, cuddled up with a good book in hand. Overall, it was an okay read but the issues I had with it were just too much for my liking. I am sure others will enjoy this one so definitely take my review lightly! earc provided by publisher through NetGalley.

The inability to see the Big Picture because you may be caught up on all the details ... or you are too close to the situation to see another way. In The Matchmaker's Mistletoe Mission (Boots and Bouquets, #0.5), Jaci Burton's Alice is suffering from just that. Alice Weatherford is in Oklahoma for one reason only, to assist and be the maid of honor for her best friend's wedding. She is a City Gal from Los Angeles and has a very successful Matchmaking business. Because her friend's career caused her to travel before the wedding, Alice promised to come to the Red Moss Vineyard a week early to make sure everything was set for the big day. Never did Alice plan on being snowed in and staying at the vineyard for days. Clay Henry was just checking in with his almost family, the Bellini's. He grew up with them and he always took time to come by to see what was happening. His family's ranch was close by and riding his horse to visit wasn't unusual. What was unusual was a snowstorm which decided to dump massive amounts causing Clay to stay at the vineyard, too. When the Bellini's have the family meal, Alice and Clay are made aware of the interset they both have for each other. Sparks, looks and low key flirting happen...Alice, locked into the Matchmaker mode, thinks she has the answers to Clay's singledom. She will interview him, find out his likes, etc. and do her thing...Find him a Match. No matter how much she may like him herself, being interested is someone she was matchmaking was a big No-No. Clay has no desire to be Matched...at least not the way Alice wants to do it...Clay believes in chemistry... Alice doesn't believe in it. With both of them housed at the vineyard, they soon become closer than they ever thought possible. Alice and Clay have a history of hurt with past relationships. Both think a relationship for them would be impossible but the pull and want are strong. I really liked Clay as he was the typical rancher type but with serious insight to women and how they think. He was not superficial and listened when Alice spoke. He was able to see his need for Alice. Alice wanted things but had difficulty to see the big beautiful picture Clay was presenting. When she finally opened her eyes, I could picture her knocking the side of her head with her hand, thinking Duh... The overall feel of the book was warm, sexy and all wrapped up with Christmas. One, I totally forgot this was a Christmas/Holiday book until about 60% in. I only remembered when there was about 2 chapters where they talked about buying decorations. On that note, I feel like there could be more Holiday references included. It could have easily been just a winter romance. And two, I didn't love the ending. I felt like the conflict was trying to be solved with wealth as the solution which wasn't my favorite, but luckily they didn't fully go with that. Overall, this is a cute wintery read!

3.5 stars This was a really sweet, atmospheric, quick holiday romance. I really enjoyed the snowy, ranch setting of Oklahoma and the close-knit Bellini family. The characters were likeable, and though it was a bit insta-lovey, I think that was kind of the point, given that the main character was a matchmaker. And sometimes, life mimics art and you do just know in an instant. I look forward to the next installment of this series.

Despite her insistence that chemistry is relatively unimportant for successful matchmaking, there are immediate sparks with sexy cowboy/rancher Clay. Basically she briefly tries to make him her client before giving into the chemistry and sleeping with him, decorating his huge house for Christmas, and discussing the fact that they both want lots of kids and (amazingly!) his house has plenty of bedrooms for his future, non-existent children! Cue drama about the fact that her business is in Los Angeles and she is a city girl. But miraculously, it turns out he's also a multi-millionaire and can solve all their problems with a private jet and office space! Like I said, it's pretty silly and the "I Love You's" happen incredibly fast. But, it's great for a fun, quick, steamy read with a Christmas theme. I received an advance copy of this book for review via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

It’s not terrible; I just wasn’t feeling it. I really like Christmas novellas but unfortunately I wasn’t able to overcome my ambivalence toward contemporary ranch/small-town settings. A little bit cliche, but it’s me and not the book. If you’re a fan of Jaci Burton, you’ll probably like this. DNF at 21%. Disclaimer: I received a free e-ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

The Matchermaker’s Mistletoe Mission is a short novella that kicks off a new series from Jaci Burton. And do not let the cover fool you, this book is steamy! Alice Weatherford is a matchmaker caught in Oklahoma during a snowstorm and while there meets rancher Clay Henry. She sets out to find Clay the perfect match and finds her own perfect match in the process. I thought both of these characters were interesting and I enjoyed how they met one another. Clay is definitely the perfect cowboy hero! The Matchermaker’s Mistletoe Mission is a short novella that kicks off a new series from Jaci Burton. Enjoyable quick read and it has me excited for The Best Man Plan, coming out in May 2020. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Find this review and more at kimberlyfaye reads. Can you believe this is my first Jaci Burton book? I'm almost embarrassed to admit it. It was a total hit. This Christmas novella was fun, festive and smoking hot. It also did a great job kicking off a new series I'm super excited to read more of. I'm a sucker for cowboys, y'all. Also, opposites attract. Add in some forced proximity and instalove, which isn't always my preference but totally worked here, and I was all in. Alice and Clay were gr Find this review and more at kimberlyfaye reads. This one was just ok for me. I had a hard time buying the romance and that Alice would embrace all the Oklahoma things she did when she was just there getting ready for her BFF's wedding. I liked the Bellini's and how they welcomed Alice, but it didn't seem like something like this would happen in real life, which made it hard to buy into. This one was just ok for me. 3 stars for a holiday novella by Jaci Burton. The Matchmaker's Mistletoe Mission is a cute, quick romance to get you in the mood for winter & Christmas! (and it still features all the steamy scenes that are a staple in Burton's full length novels.) 3 stars for a holiday novella by Jaci Burton.
