I enjoyed parts of this book and overall it was a fairly decent SciFi novel, however it was not without some problems, which is why I ended up giving only three stars when parts were worth four. However, there is enough potential for me to want to read the next book in the series. This was an all action book, some of which was quite entertaining, but I wish Amy learnt more from her mistakes, her only approach seemed to be just charge in and hope for the best and I lost count of the number of time I enjoyed parts of this book and overall it was a fairly decent SciFi novel, however it was not without some problems, which is why I ended up giving only three stars when parts were worth four. This was an all action book, some of which was quite entertaining, but I wish Amy learnt more from her mistakes, her only approach seemed to be just charge in and hope for the best and I lost count of the number of times she tried to use her gun arm and it failed to work. In fact a bit too much of the action was dependant on something unexpected happening just at an inopportune moment. I also got annoyed with the amount of standing around posturing and having a chat, instead of just eliminating the bad guys. The story will probably appeal to the video game aficionado, but I like my heroes to have the opportunity to put a bit more thought behind what they do.
