Nearly a hundred wonderful true stories in this book abundantly testify that they happen everywhere, all the time. "Sometimes," writes the author, "we recognize one by a tiny quiver in the pit of our stomach, a prickle of tears, our hearts lifting up." And sometimes they simply bowl us over. A destitute mother feeds her children for a week from a mysteriously refilling pot. A rainbow celebrates a child's release from suffering. An angel protects a teenager from terror in a hayloft. A medic at an isolated accident site suddenly finds the equipment needed to save a life. An imperfect heart is spontaneously made whole. Many of the stories here came from people who had read Joan Wester Anderson's bestseller Where Angels Walk. They showed, she says, that "the greatest and most profound adventures with Him were taking place not at the feet of distant gurus but in our own kitchens, our cars, wherever hearts were open. Such happenings were far too precious to hide in my files." Instead she shares with us a book of wonders: amazing, uplifting, inspiring. "In short, unadorned stories, Anderson retells fresh accounts of modern miracles...She emphasizes that miracles most often happen in partnership with a loving, attentive God; and her prevailing message of hope is irresistible." --Publishers Weekly

I sometimes have the urge to read an inspirational book about things like angels appearing and miraculous, unexplainable help given to people or pets. So I checked to see what my library had. This book is a bit old-fashioned, mentioning things like church and God often; however it is non-denominational which is very nice, as not all of these types of books are. It's fun to read some of these true stories. Profound stories of miraculous activities. I particularly liked the last story. Gives me an idea of how love threads between life and death, and also how each of us makes a difference in the lives of people around us. Heaven beckons.

Interesting stories of miracles that had happened to different people. Some of the stories I had read before in different places. One story I was able to confirm by googling it and finding a photograph and news clip.

Fabulous and cheerful book. I like those miscellaneous stories where everything is possible: recovering from a terminal disease, driving a car without a battery and many other. One of my favourites is "Miracle Miles" about safe driving a lorry for six hours after loosing consciousness - something improbable from a logical point of view but it`s the most prominent proof that somebody watches over us... I believe we all experience miracles in our lives every day. Whether we have our eyes open to see them is another choice we make daily. This book, "Where Miracles Happen", will give you examples of miracles in people's lives, that your eyes will be opened to the possibilities and joys of miracles open to you also. Look around you and feel God's love to you, too. I believe we all experience miracles in our lives every day. Whether we have our eyes open to see them is another choice we make daily.
