Indescribable: 100 Devotions about God & Science is a wonderful homeschool resource.  It is not so much a devotional as it is a book that shares some interesting tidbits of science and then relates how God's indescribable imagination, creativity, and scripture relate to the science.  This book is the very first thing that my kids ask for as we begin a school day.  They look forward to it.  They are excited about it! Breakdown Each lesson begins with a scripture verse.  Giglio seems to primarily use the International Children's Bible (ICB).  There are also lessons from the New International Version (NIV).  I'm not happy with the use of the ICB.  I truly don't believe that a child needs a simplified version.  It is our responsibility as parents to teach our children about God.  it can lead to wonderful places when you discuss the meaning of words and concepts that you encounter in the Bible that a child doesn't understand.  A conversation about what Bible version is appropriate is hugely controversial, of this I am aware.  This is a review, so I'm sharing my thoughts.  My children and I have chosen to look up the scripture in our personal bibles, which happen to be the English Standard Version (ESV).  The kids rotate who looks up the scripture of the day.  This practice helps them to locate passages in their Bible and gives them an opportunity to read God's word out loud. The content of the lesson reports an interesting science fact and ties it into a relationship with God.  Either the relation of God's creation and imagination to the fact or how that fact can lead towards building a greater relationship with Christ,  The lesson ends with a very short one or two-sentence prayer relating to the material. Last but not least... my kid's favorite part, Be Amazed.  Here you will find fascinating science facts, calls to action, etc.  Fun information.   I have found Indescribable: 100 Devotions about God & Science to be a jumping off point for some intimate conversations about God and a whole lot of trips to the Internet to google about the scientific facts involved. I recommend that you get a copy to enjoy with your kids.  You definitely don't need to be a homeschool family to learn and have fun with this devotional. Homeschool parents This is only a portion of my review. I will be adding (or have added) many links to my review of Indescribable on my blog for supplemental study. You can find them here. Disclosure... I am not an advocate of all things Louie Giglio.  He has some theological beliefs that I do not find expressed in scripture. As a reviewer for FrontGate Media, I received a review copy of this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. My thanks to FrontGate Media, the author, and publisher. For all of my reviews visit my blog blessed and bewildered.

Seriously, my husband and I (we're grandparents and great-grandparents) have enjoyed reading some of these devotionals together and are quite frankly simply amazed at the material. It is so well presented and not too "little-kiddie-themed." I highly recommend this little book and know it will be a treasured addition to a child's or family's library. INDESCRIBABLE: 100 DEVOTIONS ABOUT GOD & SCIENCE is seriously the coolest devotional I've seen yet for kids. I am a parent and I love it. I discovered Louie Giglio several years back when I watched a DVD with the same title: INDESCRIBABLE. And I never forgot it. In fact, I bought it for our own personal library. My two daughters (both older than the targeted ages) are as in love with this as I am. And if you tied it in with the internet, looking up references, google images, and Wikipedia you can use this devotional as a faith-filled curriculum for science. I would totally recommend this devotional for families, homeschoolers, Christian schools and more. Would make a great gift for your favorite elementary age child. I was given a free copy. My kids really enjoyed having this read to them at night. The artwork is pleasant and not cheesy or too crazy. Some of it went over the four-year-old's head, but they still enjoyed the cool science facts. Some of the scriptural lessons and analysis was a bit repetitive at times, but that was ok. I have not doubt we will make our way through it again in a year or two. My kids really enjoyed having this read to them at night. The artwork is pleasant and not cheesy or too crazy. Indescribable is a new devotional for kids written by Louie Giglio, and I'm in love with it!  This is an excellent resource for kids.  Indescribable has 100 devotions focused on showcasing the amazing creativity of Creation from a scientific standpoint.  It features cool science facts, photography, and super colorful drawings.  Each devotion has scripture, a story, application, and neat stuff about science. One of the things I love about this book is the way that Giglio points out the awesome creativity and attention to detail in our Creator - and the devotions are written in such a way that you'll be admiring these as you go throughout your day.  After reading the science facts, you'll find yourself appreciating Creation all the more. Another aspect of this book that I love is the way that the science facts support the amazingness of creation.  Often people try to turn that around - to say that science tears apart the idea of faith - but that couldn't be less true.  The intricateness of the natural world points to a Creator, just as the Bible says, and Indescribable points to that truth. The devotions in this book are all in the following areas:   Space, galaxies, planets, and stars Earth, geology, oceans, and weather Animals Our minds, bodies, and imaginations. My Little Man is going to be SO EXCITED to read these "scientific devotions."  It will give him the opportunity to combine several of his deep, long-time loves:  God, science, and reading.  I love the focus Giglio has put on these four areas, and that's also the only thing I think could be improved; in the book, these four areas are all mixed up.  I would have liked to see all the space devotions in the same part of the book, for instance. Beyond that picky thing, this book is fantastic.  I can't wait for My Little Man to read it and to shout excitedly, "Mommy, you know what?"  I love hearing him be excited to learn more about Jesus, and to learn more about the world that God created, and I know that Indescribable will do just that. I received a free copy of this book.  All opinions are my own.

I really like how this bring faith and science together. Our children are very much into science, and asking 'why?' about everything, and this book tries to answer that question. It also teaches some basic science in the process. The devotions are like mini-lessons, with facts about the topic du jour (only 100; not 365) and related Bible verses. Perfect for younger children, but also for kids who might have reached that age where they're having a hard time just accepting God and are looking for deeper..."proof" is not the word I want, but if you have teens, you'll know what I mean.

What I love most about this book is how it's bursting with scientific findings, photography and original illustrations about all sorts of topics related to science. Children are always fascinated with learning more about these things, so engagement with this devotional should be really high. The introduction points out that four major topics are covered in this book: space, the Earth, animals, and people. It also suggests that readers should feel free to jump around and focus on just one topic at a time if they'd like -- and even makes this easier by grouping readings by topic and page number. It's great to see how Louie not only helps kids learn more about each subject, but then relates each one to the awe and wonder at God's creativity with them all. Each devotion also includes a "Be Amazed" section that adds additional facts and hands-on activities to try and is followed by a short prayer to close everything out, as well. This is an excellent science-based devotional for school-aged children. I read it aloud to my young children during lunch over the course of several months. I didn't see until later that the recommended age is 6-10 (my oldest daughter was 6 as we finished this book). I would say that some of the topics were over my younger children's head. Some of the chapters about the universe, light years, black holes and HUGE numbers ending with countless zeros were even hard for me to fathom. And often we would want to learn even more about a certain animal or part of creation, and watch youtube videos about it. I'm sure we'll be going through it again in a few years, when my youngest turns 6 :)

This is an incredible book - it's certainly a fantastic devotional for any kid who love science or has a natural curiosity, but I (well into my 20s) sat down to read it because I'm both a fan of science/apologetics/that sort of this and Louie Giglio. I wasnt sure how this book was going to end up. I heard amazing things about it but usually devotions based on science tend to be too heavy or too childish. Finally! But even with very little on that very important topic, I did not find anything wrong theologically.

Excellent devotional book, just like its sequel "How Great is Our God." My 5 yo son looked forward to reading this each night. Some material is definitely over his head (like grasping a lightyear), but it was also good practice in thinking differently about things. Amanda (age 12) received Indescribable as a gift from her grandma a couple of years ago. It became a well-loved book that she has read about 4 times. Amanda keeps the book by her bed. She likes that every new chapter is a new topic about natural science and God. She has learned a lot and thinks it’s very interesting. I like the way the book is laid out with text and illustrations. It’s easy to follow with cool facts for kids. Louie Giglio helps kids to see God in science and makes learning fun.

I knew I needed this one! 100 adorable devotions for kids filled with a lesson, a verse and cool facts that help it sink in and see how incredible God really is. It’s difficult to write a book review for something that has messages & teachings from the God of the Universe in it...because, well, He’s God. The author of all of our stories. I benefited greatly from this book because it allowed me to start most days slowly, spending time with Him. Thankful for the time to create that habit through this read. 4/5 stars only because some of the wording and images felt slightly juvenile for me.

Science and the Bible are not at odds. With Indescribable, Louie Giglio gives kids 100 examples of the amazing science around us and how God is involved. I took one star off because occasionally Giglio uses a verse out of context. Overall, I highly recommend this devotional especially for the science hungry kids and those families wanted a creation science approach. I bought this book and this is my honest and unbiased review.

While any age can learn with this faith as well as science based book, this is geared for younger readers. With easy to read and learn font as well as illustrations this book will catch your readers interest.

This book is a must have for all children. It has fascinating daily tidbits of information about science and incorporates these facts into devotions with Biblical verses. The author does a great job illustrating how powerful our God is while still acknowledging the science behind creation. Any well educated Christian will love this book!

My children and I read one of these devotionals per week throughout the school year in correlation with their Classical Conversations memory work. Everyday has: Scripture A big about science and how that related to God and his love, creativity, scripture. A Prayer A Blurb called be amazed which is usually a science fact. We enjoyed this read. Most days we took something away but the science facts were a little above my 3 year olds mind but we will probably end up coming back to this read in a couple years.
