This board book adaptation of the longer picture book biography from this "I Am" series was very disappointing. In trying to simplify the language and fit the story onto fewer pages, the whole heart of the book got lost. In the picture book version, it is clear why Jane Goodall's biography has the title "I Am Caring," but this book fails to describe Jane Goodall's unique impact on the world. The only selling point for me were the illustrations (same as the picture book), which are quite charming This board book adaptation of the longer picture book biography from this "I Am" series was very disappointing. Thanks to Edelweiss and Dial Books for this pre-publication electronic edition. The forced rhyme of the main story is stilted. Drawings are engaging. The asides from Jane are much better written and I love the idea of having kids find/count things in the illustrations. I think this little book is trying to do too much at once.

The Ordinary People Change the World series are now in board book format giving the youngest of readers an early introductions to amazing humans. I appreciate the focus is more about their qualities rather than giving their biographies which is a bit too much for babies.
