Disclaimer: This book was given to me for free by the publisher in return for my unbiased opinion. This happens to be the first pocket book kind of a novel I read. The plot of the story revolves around figuring out the mystery behind certain someone with power gets shot but survives. Bunch of friends of the shot guy and his wife's take it upon themselves to investigate the series of events that lead to the shooting. I find the end hilarious. I won't disclose the ending but I was like seriously!!! Disclaimer: This book was given to me for free by the publisher in return for my unbiased opinion. Overall, I think if you are used to reading books without much thinking then you may like it. I personally didn't enjoy it much but then I am not the target reader for such books either.

I received Hot Shots in a Goodreads giveaway, and this is my fair and honest review. This is the first book in the series that I have read, so I was a little lost with all the characters in the storyline never havning met them before. Overall I found the book to be very well written, it was action packed even if I did find it a little far out there in comparsion to what I normally enjoy reading. The book contained alot of twists and turns, and I am sure those that have followed the whole series I received Hot Shots in a Goodreads giveaway, and this is my fair and honest review. This was definitely a better read than some of the others. I liked that the story was about Lizzie and Cosmo. We have to see what happens next.

I loved this recent episode of the Men of the Sisterhood. Just when you think you have it figured out it changes . Wow what a story! Can’t wait for the next one. The Sisterhood has always been a favourite read of mine. Fern Michaels is a great weaver of tales

I was totally missing something with this book, my first experience with the series and the author. The narrative starts slow, stays slow, and turned into a snoozer for me. A large list of characters, Jack Emery is the protagonist. He's the one with the large shepherd, Cyrus, and I'm usually a sucker for a book with a dog. Happy Village is a senior facility now overseen by a rich and powerful half-partner, Cosmo Cricket, who is gunned down early in the book and his wife Lizzie Fox, pretty powerf I was totally missing something with this book, my first experience with the series and the author. Happy Village is a senior facility now overseen by a rich and powerful half-partner, Cosmo Cricket, who is gunned down early in the book and his wife Lizzie Fox, pretty powerful in her own right, sends out a missive for help. Cosmo left in place after he rehabbed the complex a gang to protect the Village from a rival gang that previously ruled the area in a seedy part of Las Vegas. As the plot moves into ever more characters and them into the dark web, things proceed from slow to nasty. Jack and his cronies set up a plan of action to look into what is going on with the shooting of Cosmo, resident disappearances at Happy Village, and the person controlling the gang of despots. The antagonist(s) is no surprise. The conclusion rolled into a climax that becomes horrific. I actually had to slow down and read that part to really understand they were doing what I thought they were doing. There were edit misses along the way and words together with no space and words separated by a space. A reference to the biker gang having nine or ten Har leys (sic) which "translates to nineteen or twenty gang members" was almost funny. (Not unless nine or ten Harley-riding gang members were riding "bitch." Not going to happen.) I had a few other nit-picky issues, but you get the idea. I would try reading another by this author--but not in the same series. I received this digital download from the publisher through NetGalley. Sad to say, it just didn't work for me. 2.5/5 stars Read my full review at https://rosepointpublishing.com/2019/...

Started reading Fern Michaels in 2018. (As I write this review I'm up to book 26. March 1st 2019. ) Must begin with book and read them in order to understand all of the people that come into the Sisterhood and when the men start coming into it. Love the changes of the Post and how everyone works together around the table. Nothing gets discussed at the dinner table but only in the war room. Romances develop, marriages happen, punishment/revenge happens to someone who wronged someone else whether it is someone within the Sisterhood or a random person. The sisters all work together to get through the tough times and the happy times. So many twists and turns. Love, Love reading this series. I take time off after I read a couple books and read my other genres and come back to read this series.

I have read most if the books in the Sisterhood series, but only a couple in this series. In this book, Cosmo Cricket, husband of Lizzie Fox Cricket and woman in her own right, has been shot and is near death. The men in the lives of the Sisterhood members come “a runnin’”, hoping to save the day. Cosmo was shot in the village he set up for seniors who have lost a spouse, Happy Village. Once the area was run by gangs, but now that seems to have passed, though the history continues on. The men find an interesting but complex situation when they arrive. No one knows who shot Cosmo, and finding the perpetrator becomes their foremost task. As they work through clues, they find out there is a lot going on in the area behind the scenes requiring them to ferret through it all to figure out what happened to Cosmo. Since I had read some of this series and most of the Sisterhood series, I was familiar with the characters and their modus operandi, so this book was no surprise. The story takes many twists and turns, with lots of red herrings to add to the enjoyment/confusion. To its credit, this story brought out he softer side of the men involved, which only made them more likable. Yes, it was a bit fantastic, but, then, it is fiction and most of the books in these series fit this description. If you enjoyed the others in the two series, you will probably enjoy this one. I am not sure about how much enjoyment there will be for a newbie to the whole series, as things are a bit different and knowing who everyone is with a lot of back story also helps However, the book reads fast and is entertaining. I received this from NetGalley to read and review.

Hot Shot: The Men of the Sisterhood is written by Fern Michaels. This book is really good; but it is not quite like the other books. There isn’t as much action as in the others. Since the people living in the home are elderly, they usually had the volume set for high on their TV’s so they could hear the programs. They didn’t know anything had happened until the sirens on the ambulance caught their attention. They were upset that someone as nice as Cosmos was hurt. The men of the Sisterhood arrived quickly after hearing of the attack on Cosmos. They immediately began to take charge. They brought in a doctor who was also a friend of Cosmos’ as well as the top surgeon in the nation. The doctor and Jack Emery forced Lizzie to go home and sleep while the doctor sat with Cosmos. Reluctantly, Lizzie did so. The men split up the jobs and set out to do them, hoping to catch a break. Would they be able to find the person or persons who shot Cosmos? Would they be able to find the man behind the attempted murder? The book is easy to read and keeps your attention.

I enjoyed this story. The people and even the dog added to the story. Sure, there were things that probably didn't add up but I came at it as pure fantasy. The "team" was spinning their wheels for quite a while trying to figure out what was going on. It seemed for the longest time they were getting nowhere. And to be honest, there were several different things going on. So a lot of the time at first was basically walking in cold and gathering Intel. Sure, there were some gross things going on too. Towards the end Maggie comes up with what she thought was a just punishment for at least three bad guys. It was quite unique and not really humane. A few things I felt like weren't completely filled in when it came to some of the people. I really didn't like how the let the manager of Happy Village slide. That felt incomplete and even though Charles had a heart to heart with him I felt like he needed to be replaced. Ah, well.

I don't know what it is about these books. I don't think they are that well written, but it's kind of like watching an accident or a fire, you can't stop reading them. The men of BOLO are on hand when they hear that Lizzie Fox' husband, Cosmo Cricket, head of the Nevada Gaming Commission, has been shot and is in serious condition. Joint property ownership, gang initiations and secrets are all part of the mystery, that takes the BOLO men a while to figure out. I have loved this series for years and still do with each new book. I think you could probably jump into this book without having read the others, but you will miss some of the back story of characters. *I was given this book free to review, Thank You! Whew! This is a fast paced book with a lot of interesting characters- only I left off one star because that was kinda the problem, there were too many characters to get to know them all! Very hard to keep straight who is whom! Love the senior citizen community idea- loved the way the book started out, and adored the doggie character but did not like that there were too many names to remember and the confusion that follows because of that. I love this series! It's one of those books you just don't want to end. Excellent I have read every book in this series, Women and Men, this was by far the best of the Men. It had so many twists and turns. I enjoyed the parts at Happy Village, it showed the soft side of the characters. The story also had the good guys in the gang, it was a heartwarming display of how bad guys can become our friends and protectors. I am already looking forward to the next chapter in the Men of the Sisterhood

This book is from a series called the Sisterhood. This time it was the men that were called into action. When Cosmo Cricket is shot in Las Vegas where he lives with Lizzie Fox. The men try to find out who tried to kill him. It starts out slow and kind of goes all over the place with the different characters. It was good but the not as good as the ones in the beginning of this series. Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Books for an early copy. This review is mine and honest opinion.

Reading #5 of a series, has it's disadvantages, but will prompt reading earlier ones. Seems a group of husbands (?) of a Sisterhood, do their own thing for justice. No police involved, the bad guys are taken out by the end of the book. Gruesome, injustice, and comeuppance. Don't mess with old guys, (and ladies) they have the means to care for the elderly. This book is part of the Men of the Sisterhood series. The story is set in Las Vegas where the men find that Cosmo Cricket has been shot multiple times with no leads. The group begins to dig and ask questions and eventually find answers. Harry a member of the group is showing Vegas to a group of friends from China who get on a winning spree at the casinos which causes problems. The book was a quick easy escape read.

3.6 Fern Michael’s always writes such fun stories..maybe fun’s not the word...likable is better suited. The Sisterhood is my favorite..but The Men of the Sisterhood is coming into its own. I enjoy the “got ya” at the end of these books. Maggie was my favorite character in this story..and of course Cyrus. I wish the Sisterhood series was a TV series..guess it would have to be on at 10 pm!

I usually like Fern Michaels and this series but I did not care for this one about half way through when it got to the dark web. It was just a bit to much for what is usually a quick page turning read. I usually like the suspense and the twists and the revenge but this one made me almost not finish it.

This was ok. I have this author on my automatically reserved list at the library. I've read a few of her books over the years, but I think I am going to remove her. As I was reading the book, I felt like it was not going to end... Not something that you should be saying about a book you enjoyed. I thnk there are too many characters and it gets monotonous after a while. This was ok. I have this author on my automatically reserved list at the library. Hot Shot is a intriguing and intense story that take place in Las Vegas. The characters are an interesting group and the dog steals the show. This is probably where the saying"what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" came from. It starts as helping finding out who and why their friend is shot, to gangs and missing senior citizens and shady money hungry big shot. Las Vegas has its own rules or so it seems. This was my first experience with this series. Wow! Love the dog. Admire Jack. Afraid of the scary wild Maggie. Some humor, some heartfelt moments, some action, some creepy stuff. An unusual group of do-gooders. Fast read. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley.
