Some folks are born with a silver spoon jutting right out of their mouths. Others are a bit more like Miss Harmony King. That poor thing bounced in and out of so many foster homes growing up, that even my head spun circles trying to keep track of them all. Once Harmony hit eighteen, though, she disappeared from Charleston altogether. Fast forward nearly a decade, and now Some folks are born with a silver spoon jutting right out of their mouths. Others are a bit more like Miss Harmony King. That poor thing bounced in and out of so many foster homes growing up, that even my head spun circles trying to keep track of them all. Once Harmony hit eighteen, though, she disappeared from Charleston altogether. Fast forward nearly a decade, and now she’s back, bent over a pew, and praying like her life depends on it. I’d reckon that just maybe it does. Of course, I don’t know why this young woman left our town, and I don’t know why she’s come back now—but one thing I do know beyond the shadow of a doubt is that God meant for us to find each other again. So I told Harmony the story of the special Chihuahuas born in our church’s nativity scene last Christmas Eve, and that our Muffin, in particular, wanted to help her if she’d let him. Yes, these Little Loves have worked miracles before, and by the grace of the Almighty, I think they might just be about to perform another…

Little Loves (The Church Dogs of Charleston #2) by Melissa Storm     Little Loves turns heartache into a revelation. There's a little Harmony within us all. The vulnerable, the courage and the hope of something better has touched every heart at one time or another. Storm keeps the emotions relatable. She gets under the skin and into the heart with an adorable cast of characters that range from the four legged to the two legged variety. I laughed through the tears of this inspirational tale. It was nice to read about Charleston and the Chihuahuas again. Pastor Adam is helping someone escaping a bad situation this time. There is also friendship and forgiveness and letting go. Harmony and Nolan have an interesting relationship, and it was nice that they took their time. The previous couple show up a few times, but it's the pastor that tells part of the story. I'm really enjoying these books. I'm so glad that I already have the next one available to me. In this we have Harmony. She has had a rough life. Yet she ends up back in Charleston. Pastor Adam sees that she needs help and gives her Muffin. At first she was unhappy about it but in the end she loves him and her new life. I'm really enjoying these books. Touching story about a touch young woman. Life is not easy for Harmony. So when she flees her ex-lover and goes back to her childhood town, she doesn't expect any help. But pastor Adam gives her advice and a Little Love. A church dog named Muffin. His daughter Abigail gives her friendship. Nolan gives her a job. They all give her a new start in life. With a little reluctance she accepts it. I really loved this story. Just like the first one in this series, it touches my heart! Melissa Storm can do Touching story about a touch young woman. LITTLE LOVES is the second book in the Church Dogs of Charleston series. Though each will stand on its own, I highly recommend reading them all. The prologue is the same in each and describes how the pups and Mother Mary were discovered on Christmas Eve. I only highlighted one passage. In fact, I read it to my dog and my boyfriend, and we continue to repeat it around our house. Around here, “miracle” is just a fancy word for “Chihuahau.” You see, we have a Little Love of our own and her name mean LITTLE LOVES is the second book in the Church Dogs of Charleston series. Around here, “miracle” is just a fancy word for “Chihuahau.” You see, we have a Little Love of our own and her name means Teeny Tiny in English (It is actually Xiao Xiao, but that is Chinese, and most people can’t pronounce it.) For that reason alone, these stories truly touch my heart. Add in a foster child – of which I had many foster brothers and sisters. Then the fact that she is escaping a domestic violence situation – which I have had my hand in assisting many times – and I am just going to write the word sucker on my forehead! Beyond loving Harmony and Muffin, Nolan is the stuff of dreams. He is meant for her in so many ways and the final showdown more than proves it. When he literally turns the other cheek for her, I cried for them both. Do not miss this series, but especially this story. Fall in love with your own Chihuahua Miracle. I love Melissa Storm’s books but especially, those about dogs, little dogs, Chihuahuas to be exact and Little Loves is one of them! Harmony cam to Charleston broken and scared and found comfort at Eternal Grace Church where she had gone years ago while in foster care. Pastor Adam finds Harmony praying in the church and remembered her from years ago. Now you’re asking, what does a small dog have to do with Harmony? Well, I’m glad you asked... Pastor Adam ‘loans’ Muffin (one of the pups) to Harmony to learn to nurture and love. Throughout this story we see love bloom between Muffin and Harmony, friendship from an old friend and acceptance of one’s self. This is a book you won’t want to put down until the end, I know I didn’t. I can’t wait until the next book in this series!

I truly loved the feelings that are revealed during the reading of this book! There are laughter and tears, certainly but there are also many others. You feel so empathetic to Harmony who is a product of the foster care system. I've always felt a great deal of sympathy for those who go through that system and then age out, especially those who don't have a good experience. Such is the case of Harmony. She just wants to belong to a family and feel loved. Isn't that the case with every child that I truly loved the feelings that are revealed during the reading of this book! He was sweet and caring and, in one scene towards the end, really proved what kind of man he was! It is definitely a wonderful book worth reading!

Harmony King’s history involves being orphaned at the age of four, a string of foster homes and then a frightening independence at eighteen. Without finances or positive life experiences, except for a few brief times spent at Eternal Grace Church, she falls victim to a young man with devious intentions. Harmony returns to Charleston hoping to hide from everything, but Pastor Adam, a service chihuahua named Muffin, and a supportive group of locals, change her plans. I fell in love with this book from the first sentence. Melissa wrote another great book. This was a sweet clean second chance romance, not second chance at love, but at life. Harmony King was a foster kid who no one wanted and was angry all the time. Mrs. Clementine takes her in as a boarder and becomes a mother figure she never had. Nolan Murphy offers her a job in his restaurant O’Briens and later his heart. The dogs were so cute in this romance, but I wouldn’t have trusted someone without a job and a place to live with one. There was plenty of humor, suspense from the crazy ex, and romance.

What a great story about Harmony King, who was a foster child that grew up in Charleston and now has fled back to that town and Eternal Grace church. In reading this book you can watch her character emerge like a butterfly from a lonely, unwanted foster child to an adult who is learning to trust, let love in, and realize she has a family through Pastor Adam and his daughter, Abigail, and the church dogs along with Virginia Clementine, and Nolan Murphy. Little Loves by Melissa Storm is book 2 of The Church Dogs of Charleston series. After reading book 1 of this series, I was anxiously awaiting her next book. Melissa did not disappoint. Harmony's story of always running and not being able to trust kept me engrossed in this book with every page turned. The pastor in Charleston gave Harmony a tiny bundle of love named Muffin as a therapy dog. A chihuahua as a therapy dog? Absolutely! This is a wonderful, heartwarming story with a little suspense. Harmony comes back to the only place that felt like home to her. This book was sad when reading about her past and present. The pastor is back - love him and he has a mission for Muffin. We have a Muffin but she is a Boston Terrier - love her. Nolan is such a great guy and so patient with the sassy Harmony. Such a sweet romance but also a story about finding love from the One who matters the most.

The author does a great job with adding the little dogs in and making you fall in love with them. This was a great story of hurt and healing that only comes through God’s love for us. This was a sweet, well-written story. Harmony has had a tough life, growing up in foster homes, and now she has come back to Charleston for a fresh start. Love in all Sizes Harmony came back to Charleston because it held her best memories from her past as a foster child and was where she would feel safest from danger. Nolan owned the diner where Harmony found a job and became a fast friend she could trust. Pastor Alan knew Harmony needed to open her heart to love and be loved with Muffin as her temporary dog. It was just what she needed.

A beautiful story of love, caring and second chances. This story shines a light on the plight of children in the foster system and how dramatically it affects their lives. It also shows how love is not only restricted to humans but shows the healing power of animals and the changes they can bring about in troubled lives. Melissa Storm puts her heart and soul into her books and it shows.

Very realistic, clean romance. Full of aww moments that really touched my heart. Nolan is such a gentlemen and so in tune to Harmony. I think she is tough on the outside rightly so due to her past experiences. Love this series, it's amazing how the unconditional love of a pet helps the character blossom and grow in faith.
