In the search for control of the dagger, they end up on a journey to find a group of vampires that offer a safe haven for them to learn more about the dagger and Corinth. I recommend reading this book to see what trials they face and to find out what Corinth is. Find out if they can find sanctuary and get answers. Find out who the fight is really with, is it just against vampires or is there worse out there? I can't wait till I have more time to read the next book.

After reading the first book, I couldn't wait to read this one! In this book, the reader gets to experience things from Corinth's perspective as well as Larna's. The use of the right and more favorable characters (sorry Jack but we’ve learned more about you dead than alive) paired with a sizzling romance that kept you on the edge of your toes made this one for the books… Yes I did just go there. Looking back at this book from an author’s point of view, I can honestly tell you that I would have been dying to pick up that pen (or place my fingertips on the keys of my keyboard) when going to write that sequel and just be able to explore each and every character in the world that The Outcasts has to offer. Knowing this, it came as no surprise to open that PDF to find out that we would be seeing chapters not only from our favorite Texan, Larna Collins, but also from our lovable southern sidekick turned vampire slaying hero, Corinth Taylor, as well. It gave an insight to the series that we didn’t have before, and though we’re still left wondering just what’s happening back home, we get to follow Larna and Corinth as they hone their abilities and prepare for the upcoming war with one of the eldest vampires who not only killed Larna’s father and kidnapped Corinth’s sister (for a short time), but turned Larna into a vamp herself. One of my favorite things about this book in particular is the fact that we’re looking through a two way glass. On one side we’re able to see the longing that Larna is feeling, not only for her lost ‘normal life’, her family (mother back in Texas and recently deceased father included), but also for the love that seemed to vanish into thin air. Though the Alastair of it all is quickly resolved (in a very relative sense), we have to keep in mind that there’s another side to that glass: Corinth. Being the best friend has its benefits, but from the get go you can feel just how straining it is for Corinth to watch Larna fawn over this British dude (who, by the way, is totally fawn worthy). But somehow, in light of all these usually teenage issues romance, we’re able to see as these two incredible people master their powers, vamp and vampire hunter alike, while also becoming the people they were meant to be. Somehow Misty has done it again in crafting a book that has not only outshone her debut, but one that has caused me heartbreak in the best kind of way - as we all know how readers get attached to their favorite characters. Looking ahead, preferably in the direction of the third and final book’s release date, I can confidently say that I will be counting down the days till next December.

In this book, Corinth and Larna have no choice but to work together to survive. Corinth has been chosen a Watcher. Is it what he signed on for? Or is he stuck with the job. And what’s with this Dagger? He has no idea what to do now. Larna, a newly turned vampire goes from Corinth’s friend to his enemy as her kind are the evil Corinth must eliminate. Or is someone or something out there even better destined for the Blade? So, we get to see things from both sides- Corinth AND Larna as they come together to fight the evil in their midst: Gabriel. Despite the focus being on Gabriel who hasn’t made any friend points with anyone, we begin to get a true bead on backgrounds of all the main characters. Although a YA book, anyone who loves the vampire trophe could be captivated by Misty Hayes’ incredible writing tinged with humor and intelligence. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise: this is not Twilight or Anne Rice. No, this is a YA romance as well as vampire vs.vampire hunter. Bring on #3. Highly Recommended 5/5 [disclaimer: I received this book from the publisher and voluntarily read and reviewed it]

Misty Hayes did T H A T. Not to be overdramatic but I am shocked, appalled, and dying to know what happens next for Larna, Corinth, and the gang (especially Vinson, my actual new book husband. I want that man to--not--murder me). I loved volume one so much but volume two, this thick bad boy, was a roller coaster ride out of this world. Larna is amazing, such a truly strong, admirable heroine. The true example of what makes a 'strong female character' in a not-so-cookie cutter form. I loved seein Misty Hayes did T H A T. There were so many interesting situations and revelations about his character. I sense more to come. ..And Gabriel. I still love him. I just have a thing for his type. Read. this. series.

Corinth Taylor is in hiding. Eight months ago, he found out that he can wield a dagger that can harm vampires. His life has never been the same since, especially because his best friend Larna is now a vampire as well. Corinth didn’t ask to be a Watcher. In fact, he struggles to even manage his romantic feelings for Larna, who’s in love with Alastair. Will Corinth be able to chose between being a Watcher and his loyalty to Larna? I received an ARC and the opinions and views are my own. There are lots of surprises and schemings going on in this book. You don’t know who to trust or who the good guys are. My favourite character is Vinson, he is so strong and silent. Corinth, Larna and Alastair are in trouble again. Corinth is just coming into his new powers and learning how control them, he also learns why the dagger picked him. The story is evolving and very interesting. Cannot wait for the third book to come out. Would re I received an ARC and the opinions and views are my own. There are lots of surprises and schemings going on in this book. I just finished this and still have tears in my eyes. That ending is NOT what I expected and I seriously hope that a character that I’ve grown to love isn’t truly gone. This book was a fantastic sequel as we see our trio travel to a new place in the hopes of joining a clan that is strong enough to help them defeat Gabriel once and for all. There were so many twists and turns and unexpected things popping up that the pages just fly and then you get to the end... EXCELLENT! This series is a "must add" to any book lovers collection. Unexpected things happened in this second installment. I loved watching the character development. Loved! But I also shed a few tears… I love it when a book moves me. When I care about what happens to the characters. A page turner if ever I saw one. I’m saying it was even better than the first book, but I already gave that 5 stars as well, so I can’t go any higher! Definitely recommend!

I have read this book and giving my honest review. Oh my goodness what a great exciting book 2. Action, tense, Hope. Twist and an even bigger twist did not see that coming. Tears but not saying you will have to read the book yourself. You become involved with the book again. Looking forward to book 3 .

Great sequel to the Outcasts. Picks right up where the first book left off and Misty Hayes has a great way of using descriptive techniques to allow you to feel like you're in the book, while continuing to get to know the characters. What an amazing continuation of The Blood Dagger series, picking up not long after The Outcasts left off. I loved the first book, and knowing how often a second book can be a step down for a lot of series made me really cautious when I first picked this up, but Misty Hayes is not someone who suffers from that lull - this book crackled with energy and kept the excitement going right up until the end, and now I'm all the more excited that Tree of Souls has just been released and I'm going to be able to slide right into the final book of the trilogy and see how things are going to finish. Misty is not an author who shies away from beating her readers over the head with heartbreak and sadness, so don't ever think that anyone is too important to die, because between what's happened in books one and two I can only imagine the mess I'll be when I finish book three. Bring it on!
