To do that, she needs money and the only way she can figure out how to get it is to win the “Best Gingerbread House in Texas Contest.” When her boss offers to watch Carrie Anne at his ranch in the afternoons so Christie has baking time, she accepts—even though Cord Evans is a hot rodeo bum like Carrie Anne’s deadbeat dad who left them high ‘n’ dry. After getting thrown off a bull named Redemption and almost dying, he takes a serious look at his life and decides to make some changes—starting with moving to Bliss, Texas, so he can repair the relationship with his adult son. What he doesn’t figure into his plan is a beautiful single mom and her cute sassy daughter. Determined to keep his focus on fixing his past mistakes and not making any new ones, Cord tries to keep his distance from Christie and Carrie Anne. But how can he stay away from a woman who smells like gingerbread and tastes like heaven and a little angel who melts his heart? She had one and she felt in love with an immature cowboy who didn't want to be a father to their daughter. That's why she's prickly with her new boss. Cord hired her a couple months ago, to help him with the social media part of his cowboy boots business and she lives in a trailer, on his ranch, with her six-year-old daughter. She thought she was through with cowboys and men, but Cord could make her change her mind. And maybe it's not a coincidence that she choose Bliss to start a new life. Let's me say first that I hope it's not the last book of the series because I'm not ready to say goodbye to all these endearing characters and the little town of Bliss. I became a fan of Katie Lane because she always give me stories fill with warm feelings and even when there's obstacles or her characters make mistakes, it's never heavy nor too frustrating. I like when an author make me feel like I'm in a cozy cocoon while I'm reading the story. It was almost funny how clueless the hero was sometimes because he meant well, but he was still not doing the right things for the people he love. But his heart was in the right place so that's why it made me smile instead of infuriating me. It was great to finally see him realize he didn't have to try so hard to be loved. I liked that while Christie was wary at first, considering her history, she really gave a chance to Cord and she assessed his behavior based on what he was doing now, not about what he did in the past and once she gave him her trust, she never went back on it. I want Grannie Bon to be the next bride, please !

Bliss is one of the best literary destination I have ever traveled in books. If you read the series, you knew Christie and Cord would be paired together. You also knew that Cord was working on mending his relationship with his son, Ryker. With the help of Carrie Anne, (Christie's daughter) Danny Ray, (Christie's ex) the triplets, Savannah Raff and baby Dax, Ms Marble, Granny Bon, Jasper (Cord's best friend and mentor) and his son, Cord will realize he can't go back in time and fix his mistakes. He will have to forgive himself and think about the present and the future if he wants to have his happily ever after. Christie will also need help to realize she's a good mother and being a good mother will help her accept her own happily ever after. In Katie Lane's book, we often find good examples of great relationships between women and it was especially true in this one. It was great to see women of all ages (I also include Carrie Anne even if she's 6 years old) having each other's back and having a genuine friendship. I found myself saying I could live in her books! :) I hope she will offer us the chance to go back to Bliss, at least one more time.

Christmas in Bliss Texas is just what single mother Christie Buchanan and her sweet and feisty daughter Carrie Anne need. Christie wants to make it the best Christmas ever for Carrie Anne but the one ingredient she needs is money. She is working two jobs, one at the bakery in town and the other working for former rodeo star Cord Evans. And if it’s one thing Christie never wanted to be around was a rodeo rider. One had already broken her heart when he left before her sweet baby girl grew up. This of all the books is the Brides of Bliss Texas just is my favourite. It has what all lovers of a good Christmas romance want, two people who are trying not to fall in love, because they are both fighting their pasts, a preciouses little girl who wants a wants a daddy for Christmas and a cast of characters who help to make a little girls dreams come true, as well as her mama’s too. Her mama wanted a family for her daughter and herself and that’s just what Santa and his helpers brought them. A little Christmas magic in Bliss Texas makes it all happen a Merry Christmas for Cord, Christie and Carrie Anne. This books make me laugh and cry and just sigh at the happy every after for all the Bliss Texas Brides and gives you a warm feeling in your heart for the spirit of the season. I’m a little sad to say goodbye to Bliss….or are we?

Christmas Texas Bride ( The Brides of Bliss Texas: Book 4) by Katie Lane is Single Mom Christie Buchanan and Cord Evan story. Add in cute 6 year old Carrie Anne, romance and Christmas and you got me turning the pages. Revisiting Bliss, Texas is like sitting down with friends you already know and love while getting to know new ones. Katie Lane is the best at what she does and you can not go wrong with anything written by her.

It’s not often that I give a book 5 stars and its even less often that I feel so good about the final book in a series I’ve come to love. As much as I’m saddened to leave behind the good people of Bliss Texas, author Katie Lane hit it out of the park with The Christmas Bride of Texas the final book in her Brides of Bliss Texas series a subseries or spinoff of her Tenderheart Series. Since the title of the book is Christmas Bride it’s no secret that there’s a Christmas wedding and since one of the It’s not often that I give a book 5 stars and its even less often that I feel so good about the final book in a series I’ve come to love. As much as I’m saddened to leave behind the good people of Bliss Texas, author Katie Lane hit it out of the park with The Christmas Bride of Texas the final book in her Brides of Bliss Texas series a subseries or spinoff of her Tenderheart Series. Since the title of the book is Christmas Bride it’s no secret that there’s a Christmas wedding and since one of the main characters name happens to be Christmas there isn’t a whole lot of suspense as to whose wedding it will be. But as some wise person once said, “its not the destination, it’s the journey.” And this story is a fun, heartwarming journey. Soon to turn 30 years old single mom Christine Buchannon and her 6 year old daughter Carrie Anne showed up in Bliss Texas a few books ago in Autumn’s and Maverick’s story. After a less than cordial first meeting with Spring Hadley she becomes close friends with the three Hadley triplets, Spring, Summer and Autumn (the great granddaughters of Lucy Arrington author of the Tender Heart book series) and goes to work for Summer at her bakery while living in Spring’s little trailer. But Christine has a secret she’s keeping from the Hadleys that it really doesn’t take a Sherlock Holmes to figure out. When Christy isn’t working at the bakery she’s working as Cord Evans social media assistant helping the former rodeo champion build his boot sales business with an online presence. We’ve also met Cord before as Summer’s husband Ryker’s formerly absentee father. Cord is a retired six time rodeo champion. At 45 he’s a living legend in the rodeo world, a recovering alcoholic, who wants desperately to atone for his failure to be a father to his now adult son while he was growing up because he was too busy chasing fame and fortune and women and alcohol. If I had one criticism of this book it would be the story around Cord’s unrealistic plan to literally create the moments he should have shared with his son while he was growing up by building a huge house and hoping he can convince Ryker and Summer to move in with him. Much of the story revolves around Cord’s delusional plan at the expense of ignoring or avoiding what is right in front of him which is of course a second chance at love with Christine and at fatherhood with Carrie Anne who just might be the most adorable child character I’ve ever read in a modern romance book. Christine for her part is gun shy to get involved with men in general and rodeo cowboys in particular. Seems she comes from a long line of women who fell victim to men like Carrie Anne’s deadbeat daddy a rodeo cowboy love em, impregnate them and then leave them. She’s so distrustful of the opposite sex that she hasn’t been with another man since Carrie Anne’s birth more than six year ago. And that’s a long time for a normal healthy twenty something women to remain celibate. So when looking at Cord Evans lights a fire in her lower belly she’s finding it hard to resist even though she’s intent on fighting the attraction for all she’s worth. If I’m being completely honest I never got fully comfortable with the idea of a romance between a not quite 30 year old woman and a 45 year old man, but not so much that it spoiled the story for me. I absolutely love Christine’s character she was such a spitfire. Supposedly her character was most similar to Autumn’s the most quiet and shy of the triplets while Carrie Anne’s was more like Summer the fierce, determined leader of her sisters. But the way I read Christine’s character, Carrie Anne was a chip off the old block. What took this book from good to great IMHO was the authors inclusion of so many of the characters from previous books in the series in this the final book. The triplets had a strong presence in the story as did Ms. Marabel and Granny Bonn while their cousins also played less prominent roles but were still present. We also get a surprise second romance. So we got a last look at the lives of many of the characters before saying goodbye. If you’ve loved this series as I have, I guarantee you that you will love this book.

In the meantime Cord Evans hires her to help with his business and they both get a bit more than they bargained for while getting to know each other. I am truly going to miss the people of Bliss, Texas as I’ve enjoyed getting to know the people of this town and each of their stories. This series is one of my favorites and I know I will reread more than once. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
