Yes, I'll 'fess up, this book is flavored by my own ideologies. It's not just an often-funny adventure story; I'm also trying to infect you with my own ways of thinking. Just FYI, I'm a broad-minded Christian; Christianity flavors this book only very, very slightly, as far as any overt "preaching" goes. It's more about just plain ol' ethics, trying to treat others as we'd Yes, I'll 'fess up, this book is flavored by my own ideologies. It's not just an often-funny adventure story; I'm also trying to infect you with my own ways of thinking. Just FYI, I'm a broad-minded Christian; Christianity flavors this book only very, very slightly, as far as any overt "preaching" goes. It's more about just plain ol' ethics, trying to treat others as we'd like to be treated, and Christians certainly don't have any sort of monopoly on ethical behavior. And many traditional Christians will find this book offensive; it contains "bad words" and honest talk about the differences between male and female human sexual behavior. Far more than religious ideology, though, this book reflects my political beliefs, which are libertarian. In a nutshell, I'm tired of Republicans telling me what to do because they're more "virtuous" than I am, and I'm tired of Democrats telling me what to do because they're more "compassionate" than I am. I'm waiting for the majority to re-discover the beauties of genuine individual freedom and a minimized government. And it shows in my books! Bats, though, isn't all-out libertarian propagandizing. If that's what you're after, then maybe you'd be more interested in my second book, Freedom From Freedom Froms, which is even more politically oriented than Bats is (it's a sequel to Bats). Finally, let me add that so far, I've only been able to write when I have a victim. The main victim of Bats is excessive militarism, and the main victim of "Freedom" is hypocritical right-wing "Christians" who use Christianity to beat people into submission. And the main victims of my third book, Jurassic Horde Whisperer of Madness County? Irrationality, Panderwood, and the "Church of Omnology". Can't figure that one out?! Guess you'll have to buy the book! -- Titus Stauffer
