I received a digital arc in exchange for an honest review. This is simply my opinion on the book and is not influenced by any external factor. It is not your typical fairy tale or mythical retelling, Siren’s Stone follows Prax and four other sirens on their quest to retrieve the Siren’s Stone. The sirens are at risk of being eliminated, and this perilous journey includes venturing out of the water to travel on land, meet a mage, and retrieve the stone in a set time period. And if that wasn’t hard enough, to complete the ritual with the stone, one of the sirens must be sacrificed. While on land, Prax and co meet with Shade and two other humans, out in the wilderness, and the group joins forces to accomplish a shared goal. However, things are not all smooth sailing – there are many outstanding disagreements between the group of sirens, and it will be quite a feat to make it to their goal without killing one another. In my personal opinion, I found the relationship between Shade and Prax to be too fast, making it a bit unrealistic. Personally, I am not a fan of romance in books, and although in this case it didn’t take away from the main plot, I found the romance in this a little…overbearing. And too quick. I mean, Prax just met Shade, he barely talked to her, she hardly knew him, she even learned about his past from another human, but still she opens herself to him so quickly (by that, I mean all the way). Don’t get me wrong, the story itself was amazing and really gets you hooked in. Manes especially had so much character development to go from someone who had nothing to finding happiness in life. And I loved the comments he passed from time to time. Some of the plot twists really caught me off guard and fuelled the heart-pounding action. The final scenes were somewhat predictable when it comes to romance stories, but based on the story itself, provided a happy ending. Overall rating: 3/5, an enjoyable story with quite a focus on romance, but would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves fantasy and mythical creatures.

I received a copy of this book from the author. I had mixed feelings about this book. I think the idea for the storyline is quite interesting but I was not a fan of the development of the story. This novel has a few mature scenes and a lot of violence. The human/alta relationships felt forced and very "insta-love" like. They barely know each other yet are head-over-heels, ready to die for each other, in love. There were a lot of clichés and the ending was very predictable. I did enjoy some of the characters' personalities likes Manes but I noticed that there wasn't much for physical descriptions. I know that Shade has facial hair and blue eyes but I still wouldn't be able to picture him accurately. One of my pet peeves is when authors write prologues that are not necessary; the content of the prologue wouldn't have been out of place as chapter 1. I think this book needs more development to reach its full potential.

I received a copy of this book for free from the author as an ARC and have voluntarily chosen to review it. I must say that this book has truly earned a 5 star rating. I can think of nothing to lower the rating. This story is about a group of humans that were magically modified to live in the sea. A group of them must return to the land to renew the magic and save their world. This author has done an incredible job of building this world. Prax, the heroine, has a long and painful journey to become the person she needs to be. But, as you learn a lot about why she is the way she is, you are cheering her on. This story will keep you reading to the very end. I highly recommend it.

This book brought out so many feelings as I read it. There were frightening moments ,sad, happy, angry and bittersweet moments throughout this book. Setting - a mixture of many that included the ocean and something like everglades as well as desert. The mix of backgrounds of the characters added to the story. Manes was my favorite character. He was very snarky. Shade was a great main character while Prax at times drove me nuts with the way she held herself from everyone. I could have done with one less obstacle in the story. There at the end it was getting to be a bit "here we go again" feeling. Fantastic read! I love this story. It was so nice to have a mix up of different legends, with the world building just pure genius! The storyline built up beautifully and the characters were better than I expected and were written in such a way that I felt like I was there with them! It's truly one of Miranda's best! Miranda Hardy's "Siren's Stone" is a standalone novel in the Cursed Seas Collection. This tale has a really neat mythology. I love all of the different types of characters. There is an ensemble cast of deep characters. There are a lot of twists and turns and you never know what's coming. A real page turner! It wasnt bad. I did read the whole book, but I dont know if I truly enjoyed it. It wasn't captivating but it also wasn't a terrible read. It wasnt bad. I did read the whole book, but I dont know if I truly enjoyed it. It wasn't captivating but it also wasn't a terrible read.
