Janet Markham has been trying to track down Gretchen Falkirk for months. She’s eager to learn more about Alberta Montgomery, one of the previous residents of the bed and breakfast she now owns with her sister, Joan. When her friends from the Isle of Man, Bessie Cubbon and Doona Moore, come for a short stay, it seems the perfect time to try visiting the elusive woman. Unfortunately for Janet, instead of finding Gretchen, she finds herself and her friends caught up in the hunt for a missing person. She and Joan want to show Bessie and Doona the sights around Derbyshire, but Janet wants to find Gretchen at least as much. What does Gretchen’s downstairs neighbour really know? Can Janet help Robert Parsons, the local police constable, work out what happened to the missing woman? Will she and Joan get to take Bessie and Doona to some of their favourite historical sites or is this case going to turn into a murder investigation?

I feel like I've found a real gem in this series of the Markham Sisters and their cozy little mysteries. I think these are books I'll re-read simply because they're fun, relaxing, and short/quick reads. While this one had some elements that weren't too terribly fathomable, I just stack that up to the realm of imagination and plain and simple make-believe. It's not hard to imagine that an 80 year old might go missing, but just wait until you discover why. LOL Loved it! A no murder mystery! Not one of Xarissa 's better stories. Felt there was no real story here. A lot of nothing but filler! Maybe her newcomer will be better. A no murder mystery! ON AND ON and ON. While it is often stated that readers do not have to read the Aunt Bessie series as well as the Markham Sisters series, one cannot help feel that by entwining the characters of these two series that there is a deliberate attempt to entice the reader to read both series. On this occasion, Aunt Bessie and Doona become instrumental in justifying Janet’s obsession to track down a possible person who may be able to provide information regarding a former owner of Doveby House. Much t ON AND ON and ON. On this occasion, Aunt Bessie and Doona become instrumental in justifying Janet’s obsession to track down a possible person who may be able to provide information regarding a former owner of Doveby House. Much to the lack of concern of most others, including most of those who become subsequently involved in finding her, it does provide an opportunity to relate a story that simply goes on and on through the use of protracted, often repeated speculation, chatter and reflecting. A lot of fanciful material that has an appropriate fantasy related ending.

Short and Sweet Interesting story, and thankfully, no corpse. I would have liked more of the story of Aunt Bessie and Doona visiting Joan and Janet. But The Osborne Case gets to the point and then it’s done.

Very enjoyable! Characters from one of Xarissa's other series (the Aunt Bessie books) come to visit the Markham sisters. These little Markham sisters cozy mystery books are short, sweet, and cozy- I look forward to the next one coming out in March. Very enjoyable! Fun story I enjoyed the fact that two of my favorite characters from the Aunt Bessie mysteries were guests of the Markham sisters. The mystery was a good one with a great ending. Moving right on to the next book.

Laughable Missing 80 year old spinster turns up safe and sound after marriage and honeymoon at Disneyland.. ridiculous and beyond any kind of reasonable believability
