The features include a Bible book introduction for each Bible book, outlines, and overviews, as well as "Be Transformed" notes that help transform lives spiritually regarding the parts of Scripture they teach about, "Catalyst" notes related to Biblical themes and character issues, study notes at the bottom of each page, and cross-references to different Scriptures. Some features after the Bible books are a Concordance, Index of Preaching Outlines, and color maps. Also, some people might like to know that Jesus' (Yeshua's) words are in red and that the "Contents" page is easy to find in the beginning pages of the Bible, it is after a few title pages. I liked reading in the "Foreword" from Warren W. Wiersbe that 1 of the 10 blessings God will share with us if we honestly and humbly apply God's Word to our lives is "hope", which has been something I didn't see he had been weaving into my life over the years until recently. One other thing I liked from the 10 blessings he lists is that God's statutes have been songs in the house of my pilgrimage. I also liked that he said the Bible is like bread, milk, solid food, and even honey. I picked up liking English breakfast tea and honey from an event I worked in the past so it was very meaningful to hear that in the blessings. Most of the references he gives to the 10 blessings he lists are based on Psalm 119 (which God keeps putting in my life a lot it seems). Here are the verses he lists that relate to the topics I highlighted above: Hope: Psalm 119:43, 119:49, 119:74, 119:147 Pilgrimage: Psalm 119:54 Honey: Psalm 19:10, 119:103 I read through the book of Esther while reviewing this Bible. The congregation I attend was reading through that last week so I wanted to try to be on track with them. It actually worked out that I read how Purim came to be on the day that Purim was celebrated this year (March 21st). I was still reading through the book of Esther by the time I went to a congregation service this weekend and received a wonderful sermon from the book of Esther where our congregation leader also showed us a music album cover that applies to the book of Esther as a visual to what he was teaching us about. I also read through the book of Ecclesiastes. What stuck out at me the most was some commentary from "The Monotony of Life" catalyst article that people who follow Yeshua (Jesus) are to live in the world as pilgrims and not prisoners so they should be joyful and confident. One of the things I noticed in this specialty Bible that I don't remember seeing in any other at this point is that it has a section titled "Index of Preaching Outlines" that highlights some teachable/preachable sections in each of the Bible books. It looks like it pretty much covers all of the Scriptures but just organizes it differently than the titles that are given to different sections/stories of how they are already listed in this Bible. So, that that section can be used to organize teachings for sermons. I feel like this specialty Bible is not overloaded with "Be Transformed" and "Catalyst" notes. It is very detailed as far as the study notes go though. If you want a Bible with in-depth study notes and occasional devotional-type notes using the NKJV, this might be the right Bible for you. Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this Bible free from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Thomas Nelson has again added a nice study Bible to its list of publications. To be fair, Warren Wiersbe has long been one of my favorite speakers and writers. To be fair, Warren Wiersbe has long been one of my favorite speakers and writers. Shortly after beginning my journey as a believer, I began to listen to Warren Wiersbe on the radio as he taught in his “Back to the Bible” program. As I began personal Bible study, I would purchase the “BE” book that paralleled my current study. I still consult these works (albeit, electronic versions) as I do personal study, or prepare sermons or Bible studies for small groups even today. The Wiersbe Study Bible is actually the second study Bible published with Warren Wiersbe's name attached to it. In 2009 The Transformation Study Bible was originally made available. At the time of its publication, it was said to contain the full text of Wiersbe's “Be ....” series of Bible commentaries. Though I can find no clear statement of how this new book compares to either the commentary series or the earlier study Bible, there does appear to be considerable overlap. Here are two quotes. The first is from the notes found in The Wiersbe Study Bible. The second from Wiersbe’s “Be Worshipful”s commentary on Psalm 28: See my original review for images. This passage was selected randomly (i.e. I just opened the Bible), yet the two passages have a great many similarities. Compare the highlighted text from the “BE ...” commentary to the notes found in the Bible text above. The notes are copious and informative - I was hard-pressed to find a page with no notes. I found one, buried deep in the pages of the book of Numbers; though the opposite page still had its own notes. Notes on most pages consist of cross-references and textual notes. The textual notes normally consist of two or three sentences with background material or application suggestions for the text. Also included are “CATALYST” notes designed to help the reader dig deeper into the text by looking at broader themes and character studies. The other concern I have with this current study Bible is the “Index of Preaching Outlines” placed at the rear of the book. It does not seem to index anything in this Study Bible, per se. Rather it appears to be a list of chapter titles from Wiersbe's “BE ...” Bible commentaries, though no reference is made to these volumes in the current volume. There is a lot of material in this study Bible, but much of it seems to duplicate what Wiersbe has written elsewhere. If the reader does not have access to these other resources, then this volume is of immense value; if the material is available either in paper or electronic format, this new edition of the Bible may be of lesser value. ______________ This review is based on a free copy provided by the publisher for the purpose of creating this review. This review is for the NKJV, Wiersbe Study Bible, Genuine Leather, Brown, Red Letter Edition, Comfort Print. Physical Review The brown leather cover is quality. The gold gilting on the outer portion of the pages matches the overall aesthetic of the Bible very well. There are three total ribbons, two brown and one cobalt blue, which I think might be more at home in a less neutral-toned Bible. One thing I enjoy about the Bible is how flat it lays. It is not floppy and is pretty stiff, but that is to be expected from a cowhide Bible. The text is a good size to read, especially since I have trouble with reading smaller fonts. Study Notes Review For fans of Warren Wiersbe, this Bible will be delight. For those unsure who Wiersbe is, this Study Bible will acquaint them with the wisdom this man has shared with the world since he began writing. I am honestly uncertain what soteriology he holds, but he does seem to hold a high view of God’s sovereignty, and affirms the deadness of man in his sin before regeneration and that salvation is of the Lord. While there are many notes on doctrine, there is also an emphasis on practical application and what certain passages mean for the individual doing the study. This is beneficial since it is not only the things you need to know about God and salvation, but also things to keep in your mind and heart as you live the Christian life. He makes his study notes easy to understand yet brings such depth to my understanding of Scripture. I really love the large "Comfort Print" as I don't have issues reading the Bible or having my eyes tire. Each and every word is the perfect size and is so easy to read. I enjoyed the book overviews before each book of the Bible as it gave me an understanding of what I'm going to read and insight before I even start. There's a wonderful and extensive concordance in the back that has every possible thing you would need to look up. Plus full color maps to get a visual of where the stories are taking place. This Bible has every thing I've ever wanted. Study notes by a trustworthy author, easy to read print, extensive information, and more! I absolutely love this Bible and am using it with such joy. I highly recommend this Bible for the reader and/or serious Bible student. It's truly a treasure. *This Bible was provided to me by BookLook Bloggers program. This Bible has a leather-soft cover with a double row of teal stitching. The page edges are silver which compliments the Bible cover. It is a stunning combination. Inside the Bible has two ribbons to mark your place. One is in black and the other is in teal. The scripture print is mid-sized, clear and easy to read. The study notes print is smaller and a little more difficult to read, but the print is crisp and clear. When open, the Bible lies flat, making it easy to keep your place as you study. I read the book of John and discovered the print was easy on my eyes, including the print for the cross references and footnotes. The Bible appears to be durable, but it is also heavy. It would make a great tool for individual study however I would not suggest it as a regular church Bible. The index for preaching outlines appears indepth and informative. The concordance and the maps are helpful in understanding the Bible. Overall, this Bible is easy to use and I recommend it to young Christians and also mature Christians. There was also Wiersbe commentary in the introductory, overview section for each book of the Bible and sidebars that contained Wiersbe commentary upon that part of the Bible. The print in the Bible is bold enough and the pages thick enough that all of the text is easy to read even though the actual size of the Bible text is not notably large (or small). This Bible has full-color maps, concordance, etc. in the back. Wiersbe is a conservative teacher and takes the entire Bible as accurate (including Genesis), so I enjoy having his commentary accessible while reading the Bible. Warren Wiersbe and his “Be” series is a very popular series on Christian growth and development. The Bible itself is well bound and I really liked the silver gilt on the paper. The Bible is a bit on the heavy side so it is most likely not ideal for a lot of carry. The font is the comfort font meaning it is easy to read but please note this does not mean large print font. All in all this is a nice study Bible and I believe will help those in their Christian walk. *I received a review copy and was not obligated to give a positive or negative review.

I received a complimentary copy. Studying in depth and finding out how another person views thoughts of the Bible is a great pass time. If you are the age where delving into the word of God is enjoyable and want to find a better way to figure your way through a book that can be otherwise super confusing, this is a nice size text and even though there is no way you can finish it in a day, you can get bits and pieces to hold onto and explore for years.
