Little Blue First Drive Little Blue First Drive rhymes from start to finish. The vocabulary is simple so very young children can easily understand the story line. A great book to start a discussion about trying new things and even if they are hard to try them again. The illustrations are very cute.

She apparently has published more books during her 15 year tenure in the field of writing children’s books that are not only entertaining but also education, addressing habits and behaviors in children made simple to understand for children when read as bedtime stories starring lovable animals. Now she has introduced her LITTLE BLUE CAR series – again entertaining stories with fine teaching aids. The story is told in rhyming poetry that children love and the illustrations are superb (since the illustrator is not identified we can only imagine that they also are the added talent of author Nora Luke). LITTLE BLUE FIRST DRIVE is a fine take on children who struggle with new adventures and new concepts and ideas. Little Blue is a new shiny car whose car parents warn him of the things he might encounter on his first drive on the streets – big trucks and big cars. He is off to his grandma’s house and as warned he encounters a big truck, speeding cars, motorcycles, intersections, stop signs all of which frighten him until he reaches his destination, having made it safely because he was aware of the new things he would find. Not only is the writing charming and the illustrations excellent, but also Nora includes the assistance of loving parents who help solve a ‘problem’ – a fine adjunct to the usual children’s stories. This is an excellent series, well worth everyone’s attention – especially parents who have children with habits like Little Blue.
