I enjoyed getting to see Rhett take the responsibility of having a daughter so seriously and I loved the sweetness of getting to see him lean on Tara for help. It wasn't always easy for them but they really came together when it mattered and I thought the story perfectly depicted how perfect they were together. Bottom line, I definitely recommend reading this book if you're looking for a sexy as sin cowboy that has some adorable chemistry with a caring NICU nurse. The book is intriguing right from the start and will have you wanting to abandon reality as you read. ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.

Rhett's life was turned upside down when his attorney notifies him, he is a father. The moment he sees his premature daughter in the arms of his childhood baby sitter, Tara, the confusion, the heartache and responsibility of his playboy actions will set in motion more than he could of every imagined. And boy am I glad that we got to go along for the ride. To Tame A Wild Cowboy is touching and heart-achingly life altering journey that Wilde masterfully pens for us to enjoy. Rhett Lockhart is living it up on the circuit, from riding bulls to bedding any and all willing women. But that all comes crashing down when Rhett discovers an abandoned infant in the hospital is his child. Rhett knows it's time to turn his life around, but the baby's foster mother doesn't believe he's willing to actually change. Tara Alzate grew up with the Lockharts and knows just how irresponsible Rhett can be. But with the prospect of losing Julie, the two decide to enter into a marriage of convenience to keep her close. I'll just come out and say I didn't like this book very much and Rhett is the primary reason why. He's a terrible person and I can find no redeeming qualities in him that would make him a good romance hero. He calls all women sweetheart to make up for the fact he doesn't remember their names, believes he can charm his way out of any situation, and finds ways around doing the right thing just so he can have what he wants. In a word, he's selfish and honestly I didn't feel like that changed over the course of the book. By the book's end I hated him just as much as I did when he was introduced. Tara started out as a character I enjoyed but that slowly went away over the course of the book. Initially she's strong, stands up for the helpless child in her care, and doesn't cater to Rhett's every whim. I thought she would be good at standing up to Rhett and telling him the way he does things is wrong. Unfortunately as the book went on, she lost her spark and slowly started giving in to Rhett just because she was attracted to him or the sex was good. Sadly that made her a heroine I couldn't root for. The one thing I did like about this book was the extensive group of side characters. Both Rhett and Tara have a number of siblings who appear frequently throughout the book and I'm definitely interested in some of their stories. I will admit I find it a bit odd that their siblings are married to one another, but it's not a huge deterrent for me. So I may come back to the series at some point in the future to read their books, but after this one I won't be in a rush to do so. Overall To Tame a Wild Cowboy was a disappointing read and definitely not the book for me. **I received an advance copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.**

This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. I love this author and I have enjoyed seeing her stories evolve over the years and I have to say that this series, has been a struggle at times, nothing specific about any of the stories that are written, but I have had a more difficult time being engaged by them. At least in comparison to her older books. So I was pleasantly surprised to see that this book here showed such engagement that I didn't want to put this book DOWN!! It was such a page-turner, and one I totally didn't expect and boy I got such a kick out of this book. Its far from perfect, but it had such delicious fun times and I do adore a sexy rodeo cowboy to lust over and the hero involved is the ticket for any romance lover. In To Tame A Wild Cowboy, we have a story that begins with our hero who is living the perfect life for a man seeing thrills and excitement. But there is much more to this cowboy than meets the eye. Rhett Lockhart is a rising star for the rodeo and he is so close to winning and accomplishing his dream. Rhett is unlike his brothers and with his issues with his father, needed to be able to prove himself, and so he left home and created his own wealth. But just months before the rodeo finals, he learns that he is a father to a baby girl whose mother abandoned her at the hospital. So Rhett has to make some important decisions, including if he wants to be a father or not. Our heroine enters the story, Tara, is a nurse and after losing the chance to have a family she has craved the chance to be a mother. And when she becomes the foster mother for an abandoned infant preemie, so wants to be her real mother but there is one problem....the father wants his daughter and even though Tara loves her she knows that she might lose her. But there are many more issues involved with Rhett claiming his daughter, and a marriage of convenience comes into play. But will their relationship turn into something more than just a physical attraction.... He was the ONE. the mate fated just for her. So said Granny's legend. So said the humming in her head. So said the riotous song in her heart. She loved him. To Tame A Wild Cowboy is pretty much everything in the title....hehe....I was pretty impressed with how this author handled a rodeo theme, I don't believe she has done this before so I found it really engaging. Now I do want to point out that my one main issue with the book is our heroine. I really REALLY wanted to love her, but she was so judgmental on Rhett's lifestyle and the fact that he enjoys having sex. And yes he does "sow quite a few of his wild oats" but I honestly didn't find anything super wrong with his lifestyle, and the heroine has been judging him like this since he was a teenager. So I really didn't care in how she treated him, she eventually softens towards him but it was a problematic type of behavior that rubbed me the wrong way. There is so much character growth that we find in our hero's journey as he discovers what it's like to be a father and what he is willing to do to be the father that his daughter needs. We see how his universe changes from the first moment that he holds her, and his priorities change. He does make an effort in trying to balance out his career and the family he has chosen, but it's not easy for him but I do love the change in him as fatherhood creates a more grounded man that is trying to be a better man. The romance that develops between these two is feisty, on the edge and unpredictable at times. We see that court decisions don't always turn out the way we expect and really left me in suspense until the very end. Overall I was impressed with How To Tame A Wild Cowboy, a heartfelt love story that takes us on a vibrant emotional journey that is guaranteed to tangle with your emotions and tug at those heartstrings...a romance that is emotionally stunning!

But he does what needs to be done even if it takes him a while to figure out what that is. Tara at time rubbed me wrong. I just couldn't handle her at times. She feels she smart and better at everything than everyone else. She treats Rhett pretty horribly. Yes, her heart is broken thinking she will lose the little girl she's come to think of as her own and I get that, but this woman really needs to either get laid or something. I had a hard time liking her for most of the book. The funny part is that Rhett seemed to get her. Yeah, she hurt him at times but he seemed to deal with it. I guess if he didn't mind why should I. For the most part, this is a really good story. So many good emotions are felt throughout the book. I laughed, I cried and I even yelled. We all know who I was yelling at, don't we? Not to worry, Tara isn't the only person I thought was shit. I didn't care for the Judge either. All this "your a bull rider, it's dangerous. Either stop doing what you do or lose your child crap. So would she act the same way if he was a cop, firefighter or soldier? All those jobs carry risk too. Can you tell I really liked Rhett? Ha! It shows, doesn't it? Even with all the crap, I didn't care for I still really enjoyed the story. I guess sometimes you really need the crap to make a good involved story. Rhett Lockhart easily fits the description of a wild playboy that loves the buckle bunnies. He's had his fair share of one night stands but this time there is a tiny little baby that has been left behind. Under that bad boy wild child persona is the heart of a good cowboy that loves his family and is taken to his daughter the moment he sees her. Tara Alzate has suffered some incredible losses recently. When a sweet little baby girl was abandoned by her mother she quickly steps in. She loves children and she bonds with this sweet little girl, Julie right away. Julie needs care and Tara is a neonatal nurse that is more than happy to give Julie the medical care she needs along with a mother's love. When Julie is released from the hospital she goes home with Tara has her foster mother. Rhett and Tara put a plan together after a lot of thinking, planning, and working together. What they didn't count on was the incredible attraction they feel for each other or the feelings that start to grow the more time they spend together as a couple and as a family. I loved watching Tara form a new opinion of Rhett as she sees how much his daughter means to him and that maybe Rhett isn't that playboy, love'em and leave'em type everyone thinks he can't possibly outgrow. I love that both Tara and Rhett have family that are a big part of the storyline. It's great to see the siblings the parents, and the other kids in the family play a huge part in Tara, Rhett, and Julie's lives. I think it adds so much to the story when you can see how the family interacts. This is part of the Cupid, Texas series. So if you have had the pleasure of reading the other books in this series then you are in a for a treat. You are going to get a chance to catch up with old friends. I know I sure did enjoy seeing how things were going with the Alzate and Lockhart family. No worries if you haven't had a chance to read the other books in this series. Lori Wilde does a great job of writing the book so that you can truly enjoy this as the first book you have read in the series and not feel like you are missing large pieces of info. You may want to grab a few more books in this series though when you grab this one. They are all SO Good that I know you'll want to grab a few more to devour. Overall this is an incredible cowboy story with lots of family involvement, a romance that starts out a little rough that turns into an incredibly sweet yet so hot romance, the love that parents have for a child whether it is a blood child or a child of their heart, and of course there is plenty of drama. There are a few spots that I had to break out the Kleenex. I don't want to tell you too much but there are a few times I was really swiping at those tears. I have enjoyed all the books in the Cupid, Texas series and I can not wait to see what Ms. Wilde will come up with next. I know I am always excited to hear she has a new book out. She is at the top of my MUST read list. I was given the opportunity to read this incredible story and it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you.

Rhett Lockhart is a carefree, no-strings rodeo cowboy whose longest commitment is to the eight seconds he spends on the back of a bull. All that changes when he finds out he has a baby daughter who was abandoned at the hospital by her mother. Tara Alzate is the NICU nurse who has spent the last four months nurturing Rhett's baby. She not only became a foster mother for the baby, but she’d love nothing more than to adopt little Julie. Now, you’d think these two family friends would work together for this sweet little baby, and after a couple bumps, they do find a routine that works. But when the judge threatens Rhett's custody if he doesn’t quit bull riding, the logical next step appears to be for Rhett and Tara to marry. It’s not quite the leap it seems, especially when another threat to custody of Julie arises. And while Rhett and Tara may be an unlikely couple, when Rhett reflects back on pivotal moments in his life, he realizes Tara was a part of them. There's a lot more to Rhett than what’s seen at first glance, and I suspect he’s always been a bit in love with Tara. I love Cupid, Texas, and I’m wild about Wilde's cowboys! Rhett is exactly the type of cowboy hero that makes for the most delightful reading. All swagger, charm and sexy grins with hidden depths and a heart of gold! He may play fast and loose on the rodeo circuit, but one look into the beautiful eyes of his precious little girl is all it takes for Rhett to commit for a lifetime. Tara is a little prickly, a bit of a know-it-all (she is four years older than Rhett and used to babysit him, after all) but she has the intelligence, strength and determination we all admire in a heroine. And she will do absolutely anything to see that little Julie is well cared for and thriving. She's just the kind of gal a guy like Rhett needs in his corner, and when worry and doubt crop up, she’s there to encourage and support him. I love these two together. Their journey to forever is touching, steamy, humorous and a little angsty, and if you love cowboy heroes, you’ll adore this story. *I reviewed an advance copy of this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide a review and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source for this review.

Thoroughly enjoyed the story of Tara and Rhett. The pages flew by as I was reading. Not your typical “marriage of convenience” romance novel, their love story possesses interesting layers - complicated family dynamics, health issues, and even a lesson on bull riding (the definitions at the beginning of each chapter are fun facts). Lori Wilde writes with a warmth and attention to detail that draws you in, so you really get to know the characters. This book can be read as a stand alone novel. Filled with family, warmth and love. Tara is a wonderful character, as a sister, daughter, granddaughter and NICU nurse. She takes custody of an abandoned premature little girl with many resulting needs. It's a wonderful story that I enjoyed so much. Filled with family, warmth and love. I loved the book, which I won an ARC of from Lori Wilder. We have Rhett, the bull rider with the laid back attitude about relationships and not wanting anything to do with commitment. It's been a while since I read a book by Lori Wilde and although I read some of the previous books in the series, I had forgotten, so I was a bit hesitant to start the book. Once I got started I was thrilled. The books, although set in Cupid, TX are all standalones about different people in the town. Rhett and Tara have a history having grown up together. Once I got started I was thrilled. The books, although set in Cupid, TX are all standalones about different people in the town. Rhett and Tara have a history having grown up together. He's rich and his family owns a large spread while her dad was the foreman on the ranch. She babysat Rhett, even though there's only a 4 year age difference but as a 10 year old he was a handful. As a professional bull rider and single guy he avails himself of all the beauties that follow the sport. Always just a one night stand and never at his place. Tara was engaged and pregnant when her fiance died of a rare form of meningitis and she lost her baby. Medical issues appear to have ended her chance at carrying a baby to term. As a NICU nurse she loves babies and falls in love with one particular cutie whose 21 year old mom abandoned her at the hospital, finding newborn preemie care overwhelming. Tara gets approved and trained as a foster mom and when Rhett is one of 4 men tested to determine fatherhood, the fun begins., Their families and background provide fun and lively times as the two families are intertwined and the siblings have grown up together, Everyone, including Tara's grandmother have thoughts about the relationship Tara and Rhett enter into on behalf of the baby. Will he give up being a professional bull rider for the love of a good woman and the baby he's come to love or will Tara move back to El Paso and resume her life after their family is threatened. You'll have to read to find out but I thoroughly enjoyed the give and take between these two and how they come to realize what is most important in life. It can be read as a standalone as I found background information on the other family members was provided throughout the story. I'm sure you'll enjoy this story as much as I did! I was provided a free ARC eBook from the Publisher and Net Galley in exchange for my honest comments.

**Of all the Cupid, Texas books, this ranks as my most favorite.** This was a well-written, gritty story that certainly had its sass. Serious subject matter: actions have consequences. Even though they have a history of sorts, and as much as Tara wanted to deny it, Rhett and Tara have the chemistry and understanding of each other. As for Julie, her situation could have been heartbreaking, but in the end it worked out for all, and she will be loved by the Lockharts and Alzates. Good book. In previous books, Rhett has been the laid-back, fun-loving bull rider who flits happily from rodeo to rodeo and buckle bunny to buckle bunny. Commitment is not a word in his vocabulary except when it comes to his bid for the bull riding championship. He gets the shock of his life when he finds out that one of his one-night stands resulted in a baby girl who has been abandoned by her mother. He fell hard for little Julie, and though uncertain of his abilities, he was determined to be Good book. He fell hard for little Julie, and though uncertain of his abilities, he was determined to be a good father to her. A potential obstacle to his plans is the baby's foster mother, Tara. Tara is the NICU nurse who cared for Julie while she was in the hospital and became the baby's foster mother. Tara wants to adopt Julie herself and isn't so sure that Rhett is up to the task. I loved Rhett, even in the earlier books. There was no meanness in his avoidance of commitment - he always made sure the women he was with knew the score. He could have given up his rights and just walked away, but he didn't. My heart melted during the scene when he first held Julie, and you could see her grab his heart in her tiny fingers. I also liked that he wasn't too proud to admit that he needed Tara's help. I had a little harder time liking Tara, especially at the beginning. She came across as very judgmental of Rhett and his life, even though he wasn't hurting anyone. She seemed far more interested in doing what she could to keep Julie for herself instead of being with her father. I wasn't sure if she was going to help Rhett or try to sabotage him, so I was happy to see her do the right thing. I did ache for her and the reasons she wanted Julie so much. I enjoyed the development of the relationship between Rhett and Tara. Because of their long history, they knew each other pretty well already. Once they came to grips with Rhett's intention to raise Julie himself, they formed an excellent working relationship. Neither of them expected the attraction that flared between them. When obstacles are placed in Rhett's way during his attempt to gain permanent custody of Julie, Tara proposes a marriage of convenience. This will keep her in Julie's life and allow Rhett to continue to follow his dreams. I had to laugh at the way the marriage of convenience part didn't last past the wedding night. The attraction between them was too strong for a platonic relationship to have a chance at succeeding. I loved seeing them settle into happy family life, though both of them tried to deny the feelings that were growing between them. I ached for them both when their custody of Julie was unexpectedly threatened, and they believed that she was all that held them together. It took being apart for them to realize what their feelings for each other were. I loved Rhett's self-reflection and look at his future without Tara and decide that wasn't what he wanted. I loved the shock of the people around him as he took the only action he could. Tara had already accepted her feelings for Rhett but thought she was doing the right thing by letting him go. I loved seeing her best friend read her the riot act and give Tara the push she needed. Their reunion was awesome, and it was followed by an unexpected and very welcome surprise. The epilogue was great. I enjoyed most of the secondary characters. It was great to see characters from previous books, especially with the way that the two families have intermarried. I loved Granny, and her stories of the humming heard when you kissed The One. Like her sisters before her, Tara didn't believe until it happened to her. My least favorite character was the judge. I couldn't believe her attitude about Rhett's career of bull riding. Would she do the same to a father who was a cop, soldier, firefighter, etc.? And then her actions regarding Julie's mother made it even worse. Someone needed to bring her into the 21st century.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I also purchased a copy. I totally fell in love with Julie, Tara and Rhett. Rhett had a one-night stand with Rhona and she became pregnant. She was only 21 and had little Julie two months early after a 14 hour labor. Being young and unable to cope, she abandons her baby in the hospital as she leaves in the middle of the night. She named 4 men that could be possible fathers. The winning bull-rider that was named the father was Rhett Lockhart. Rhett I received a complimentary copy of this book and I also purchased a copy. He goes to see the baby and discovers that Julie's foster mother is none other than Tara Alzate. The Alzate and Lockhart families are intertwined with each other. Two of Tara's sisters are married to two of his brothers. Tara is four years older than Rhett and used to baby-sit him. Tara knows all about Rhett's wild ways with the buckle bunnies. In fact, Rhett used to date her younger sister Aria!!! The scenes that take place with this story will take you on a roller-coaster ride. I experienced so many emotions here. I was glued to my e-reader as I read this. The story played out like a movie. I really hated to see this story end. The Epilogue was a joy to read and really sealed the story nicely. I really felt a connection with these characters. The story was written in a dual POV format. Being able to see into the characters thought process really brought them to life for me. I highly recommend this story to anyone. There are a couple of bedroom scenes but they aren't erotic in any way.

Lori Wilde's To Tame a Wild Cowboy is an interesting love story. The two main characters, NICU nurse Tara Alzate, and professional bull rider Rhett Lockhart, grew up together on Rhett's family's ranch. The rest of the novel goes on to develop a romantic relationship between Tara and Rhett, as the threesome form a family, while worrying about Rhett being granted permanent custody. I liked this story but there were a few hiccups along the way that prevented me from truly enjoying it. To begin with, Tara is the one that proposes a marriage of convenience, not Rhett as the book blurb states. Tara wants Julie to remain in her life, and she is aware that the court will look favorably upon Rhett if he is married to her. I found it odd that Tara's mother arranged a honeymoon night for both Tara and Rhett after their nuptials, since Tara had shared the terms of their temporary marriage with her. I found the flow of the story to be choppy at times. The last few chapters are unbelievably good. This is the seventh book in the Cupid, Texas series and it can be read as a standalone. Complimentary copy provided the publisher via NetGalley.

I was very intrigued right from the start. So many questions popped into my head and I had to keep reading because I wanted those answers. Keeping in mind this is fiction, it just felt like it was someone's true story. It's not all roses and I sure didn't care for some of the answers, such is life. I still liked this journey! The transformation was beautiful and I could see it all. I didn't get a great feeling for Tara. Too controlling and condescending for me. It made for good reading tho because both Rhett and her had a few home truths "discussed" lol. Their heat was buzzing all through and I felt that, tho they denied and tried to ignore it for the longest time. I was so happy their wedding night debunked that convenience deal! This read had me feeling a lot of emotions and they weren't always what I wanted, but feel them I did. In general, the court systems, of TX anyway, are archaic and need to get current! This fictitious book is pretty close to how the system works and it's got so many flaws, it's pitiful. Poor baby Julie, got shuffled when it wasn't in her best interest, only for mother's rights. So, yes I gave this 4 stars. I liked the realm of this story and it kept me turning pages. I still think cowboys are great, live by the cowboy code, but no one is perfect. I won an ARC thru Western Romance Cafe on Facebook and am giving my honest opinion and review of To Tame A Wild Cowboy.

That breaks Tara Alzate, the foster mom's heart though since she was hoping Rhett would waive his parental rights and she could adopt the little angel. They come up with a plan so both can be happy, a marriage of convenience! Rhett won't have to stop working as a bull rider at the rodeo, and Tara can be there with baby Julie. Things get a bit complicated when Tara figures out Rhett is the man she's meant to be with. I was wondering if they'ed be able to keep it a marriage of convenience or will they make it the real deal. To Tame a Wild Cowboy is a romance you don't want to miss. I'm not a huge fan of books with babies in them but this one worked well for me. Rhett is a hunk and such a sweetheart. Tara is prickly and has those momma bear instincts going. I wound up loving these characters and thought they were perfect for one another. If you're a fan of contemporary romance with rodeo cowboys you'll love this book.
