Well... Let’s just say I finished it but definitely not one I would recommend. I don’t think it was written very well and the skipping timelines didn’t flow.

The Synopsis says it all. In my opinion, the synopsis should have left off the whole pregnant part. Why even mention that? The story doesn't revolve around the pregnancy and if anything, it was a spoiler. Julie's dream job is to be a PR Agent. She gets an opportunity to become just that. But who knows, serving coffee can lead to an opportunity you may never have encounter if you werent doing just that. Shane. NFL Quarterback that is arrogant, cocky and doesn't like to be told what to do. Hence no PR agent will work for him. Well, he better get his crap together or he is soon to be traded or even ex NFL quarterback. When Julie and Shane are thrown together. Julie doesn't take S**T from him. Why would she, he screwed her brother over. Needless to say, Shane doesn't recognize her. There is quick banter; written in dual POV. The story moves pretty quickly. I am surprised on how quick Julie had sex with Shane. I figured she would have fought the build up a little more. I did like how neither character let that one time get in the way of being professional. What I liked even more, there was no inner monologue on why she/he should or shouldn't have done it. I will admit to skimming over the "special time" scenes. It wasn't a page after page after page of the scene but I just wasn't to interested in it. Shane and Julie started to care for one another, I didn't really feel like that connected in a way other than close friends. When the whole pregnancy thing happened, that is when Shane started to really look at his life. I didn't like how Julie told him and really didn't like how she acted months following the admission. I like Julie but by the end of the book she wasn't as strong as she was in the beginning. I do recommend. It was a very nice read. Everything wrapped up pretty nicely. A couple of chapters of Accidentally Royal is provided at the end. I read them and very intrigued. Looks better than Hate to Love.

Honestly, I have never gritted and ground my teeth, or rolled my eyes as many times as I did every time Julie rejected Shane's efforts to simply make her happy. In his love-inspired euphoria and alpha-male instinct to assure her safety, happiness and wants, Shane thought he was doing something that would make her happy, not whiney just because SHE DIDN'T EARN IT! By the time she went all hissy-fit on Shane for securing her a PR job in Pennsylvania that she had only lusted after forever, I would have strangled her personally, for free,Chad she not been pregnant. My God! She was ANNOYING, extremely SELFISH, and very, very small-minded in her hypocritical condemnation of Shane's efforts on her behalf when she lacked the experience and maturity to even express the bare minimum of gratitude that he even thought to care since his overtures were well beyond the scope of a man trying to manage her life and shatter her need to be successful and independent by herself. That she even thought she was in the same league, knowing she lacked the necessary experience, only accentuated her naivete and showcased her deplorable lack of class and dignity by not appreciating the only other acceptable measure of gaining entry into white collar corporate industry: taking advantage of name dropping, or knowing someone "connected" who can help you get ahead. Instead, she got all insulted and angry that Shane cared so much he ensures she got what she had been dreaming of for years. So, naturally I don't get her irrational rejection of where he was coming from. Her behavior is immature. Her every reaction is an overreaction. Instead of compromising or discussing things, she has hysterics and has to be dramatic, because only HER opinion and feelings matter. By the grace of God, everything works out; however, only after excruciating torture and discomfort. Ridiculous storyline. I kept reading only because Shane is absolutely adorable and sweet once he admits his love for Julie. One star was the lowest score available, so ...... Sigh.

This is her first and time chance to make it. Failure is not an option. Shane does not make it easy. The story was good and the scenes were sexy. There wasn't a transition from hate to romance. One minute they couldn't stand each other the next they can't keep their hands off each other. he road the HEA was not a breeze. Shane and Jenny both had to go through some emotional growth. After leaving Virginia for a dream job in Philadelphia she is humiliated after she learns the owner of the PR firm was talking of a different "position" and there was no actual job for her but she can't go back home as a failure. After getting a job as a barista she learns of a job upstairs in a PR firm and interviews only to become the secretary for the owner. Shane Lawson is captain, quarterback and the Crown Jewel for Philly but he is also in deep crap with the team's owners due to his declining public image. He is given a choice of working with a PR and cleaning up his game and image or he's out. Shane is arrogant, loud and doesn't like to be told what to do. With the only firm left and nobody wants to work with him, he crosses paths with Julie but doesn't recognize her as his high school best friend's little sister. Julie can't control herself when Shane orders her to get him coffee and gives him holy hell about his rudeness and actions against others. Now fearing for a job she can't lose her boss gives her the dream job of PR rep to the last person she wants to spend time with, especially after all the hurt Shane caused her brother. Dealing with lies from Shane's ex, trying to help him clean up his reputation to stay on his team and trying not to fall in love is stressing her out. Ends up at a coffee barista, then wiggles her way in as into another PR firm but again mistakenly as secretary, she agrees on hopes to work her way into being a rep.  Shane recently split from his cheating ex is being setup with false accusations with her and her new beau trying to improve social and career statuses has left him off his game and sprialing downward.  Shane's own arrogance and accusations has effected his fan base leaving him on the brink of being traded and career suicide with only one PR firm left to barely keep him a flooat because he can't work with anyone. On the brink of losing his last PR firm left to help him. Julie is promted to be his rep with she either fixes his rep by end of summer or they are both out of jobs. They have history that noone knows about can they get past that to success or will they both end up cras and burn.  It truly incredible story as these two both seem to mature and find themselves while trying to both keep their careers is truly addictive. I highly recommend. A good story giving you enough of past,  present and future insight to make it a complete fulling read. After hearing how she handle Shane her boss gave her Shane as her first PR job but if she failed she was out of a job. Julie and Shane came from the same hometown and he used to be best friends with her brother until he left everything behind when he got his chance at the big time. Shane couldn't believe his life basically was in Julie's inexperienced hands but he had no choice if he wanted to stay with his team. Julie was smart and quickly figures out how to clear up one big thing that was ruining Shane's reputation after that she just needed her brother for the last part. She had never thought she would ever fall for Shane but its not long before she does. Once everything is back on track for him Julie fears she'll be left behind like her brother had been before so she throws one last surprise on Shane before things do end. Will Shane fight for Julie and the life they can have together or will he walk away? This is an amazing story once I started I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between Julie and Shane is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Our heroine is a mousy girl who is trying to make it in the PR world, she’s already graduated from college but yet she reads like a naive high school girl. She literally picks up her life and moves cities without a firm job offer because she misunderstood a skeezy dude trying to sleep with her. She has full on conversations with a rubber duck (which I assume was just the authors way of imparting background information to the reader). She just very childlike. It’s not so much that I didn’t like her as it was that I didn’t find her relatable or believable. I mean what kind of PR person doesn’t watch tv the news or go on the internet? And our hero. Oh lord. This guy is seriously the worst. I get the beef he has with his teammate, his ex cheated with the teammate, so that whole hate dynamic coming out onto the field totally makes sense. But he’s like a delusional narcissist. He literally doesn’t understand why the team would want to ditch him when both his playing and reputation have taken a dive. When he’s accused of domestic violence (it’s not true) he doesn’t even seem to grasp that that could hurt his career. And the way he treats people. Seriously. It’s hard to read. In the end I just couldn’t keep going.

Julie has had a bad couple of weeks. To put the icing on the cake, her brother's former best friend doesn't even recognize her when he orders her to get him coffee. How she went from secretary to being the PR representative for the most arrogant, self-centered quarterback in the league is totally beyond her. In fact she’s moved from Virginia for a chance to work at a big firm. Her history with Shane (her older brother’s best friend in high school) has her mouthing off at him with a few home truths about his horrendously arrogant behavior. Her boss sees this as a godsend as all of his other agents refuse to work with him. This sets the scene for some really fun dialogue and situations! When they finally realize that hate is the flip side to Love, things get interesting. Enjoyable writing style with fast easy to read pacing! Fun twist on NFL player and nerdy friend's sister. Julie's life isn't what she planned. The only position he was offering was in his bed. Which she declined. Sigh. Totally screwed. Little does she know that she'll bump into her brothers ex-best friend who has turned out to be one of the most obnoxious quarterbacks in the NFL. Circumstances throw them together, and while you can guess whether or not they eventually hook up, their tale is true (i.e., not very pretty), heart-felt and charmingly funny. These are not perfect people, and we get to enjoy all of their individual quirks and shortcomings. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is the first for me by this author and I must say it was good. At times it kind of fizzled but then it would pick up again. There is a lot of things the author could improve on but it’s a good start. The intimate scenes or the sex scenes I should say were a bit dull and to clinical for my taste. The author should read a couple of either Jay Crownover’s books, J.C. Lynn books, Chelle Bliss or Kirsty Dallas those authors have those scenes to an art. But the story line was good I like that they had a backstory and it wasn’t an insta love kind of thing when the characters have a backstory it’s more believable and more realistic. So the fact that Julie and Shane had a past due to Joe that was really good. With that I likes how the author developed their relationship. I loved Julie’s naighbir she was funny. In all it was a good start maybe work on the way the story flows and that will he’ll ig not fizzle in parts. I enjoyed this study in the end. This is one of those books where the author did a great job of storytelling and I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. Julie is a strong character and she isn’t afraid to call Shane out for his attitude. She hates him for what he did to her brother and thinks he’s an irrogant jerk. Shane plays quarterback for his team in Pennsylvania but he’s coming off a bad season. He is a PR nightmare and his ex girlfriend is saying to the media that he was abusive. To make matters even worse is the owners are threatening to trade him if he doesn’t clean up is image before the start of the season. When Julie is forced to work with Shane as his PR rep. she can’t believe her job relies on working with him. Will Shane continue on his destructive past? Will Julie be able to work with Shane and keep her dream job as a PR rep. or will she have to admit defeat and go back home? I received a Arc copy and am volunteering to leave a review.

R.S. Lively’s Hate to Love is a fun story that pits a young women into the unenvious position of serving as a PR rep to an arrogant jerk of a football star who pretty much screwed over her brother as a kid. A bit contrived? Sure, but it still works overall. Really the only suspension of belief I had to do was with just how rapidly Shane, the football jerk, changed his personality and how relatively easy it was for Julie, the PR gal, to change her mind about him. Nonetheless this actually was a really nicely done, and fun, romance that only got better and better as I got deeper into the tale. Well-written and with really wonderfully crafted characters, I totally enjoyed this story. Frankly, but for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review my husband from my hospital bed, I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read. It is easy to highly recommend.

Julie Jacobs has moved from Virginia to Pennsylvania to take a position at a PR Firm offered to her by Mr. Branson. After quitting her job, liquidating her assets, and renting and moving into an apartment, sight unseen, all within two weeks only to find out the position she was being offered had nothing to do with employment. Shane Lawson is quarterback on the team. He found out his girl was cheating on him with a fellow player and broke up with her causing his season to be less than stellar. Add that to an arrogant, overbearing attitude with no people skills and you have a disaster in the making. Such a heart warming story with enough angst and turmoil to give a good plot twist and you have a wonderful tale by R. S. Lively. The characters and sub-characters are given such personalities you feel like you know them.

A very well written story. The story flowed well and kept this reader highly entertained from start to finish. The characterizations were well developed and relatable. There is plenty of angst and sexual chemistry and tension to make this book a real page turner. I was sorry to have this one end and will be seeking out more books by these talented writers.
